Afternoon everyoneGrin, that's a too-much-coffee grin.

Carrots the best word to describe DD1's shopping preference is tat, she loves the cheap costume jewellery and accessories from the likes of Claire's and Accessorize. Also clothes and expensive sports wear. Everlast is apparently the only place to buy a track suit. She also likes to read, mostly young ghost stuff, Skulduggery Pleasant books and similar. Perfume is another essential item, the more expensive the better. champagne taste and tap-water money

T'other one is heavily into art and anything to do with gymnastics. She also likes clothes, but pretty feminin styles as opposed to her sister's jeans, boots and the right top. Another thing she really likes is making jewellery, beads sets etc.

Both feels it's perfectly reasonable to wear make-up of course and cannot understand why I disagree.

Today I've done the laundry wot never got done yesterday and am halfway through cooking roast 'taters and veg to go with griddled chicken. Our clocks changed last night and I'm now confused, so I'm just trundling along sorting clean clothes and prepping food. This "upside down" business still confuses me. Sept and spring in just beginning, new blossom on the trees, our roses have new shoots and DDs are about to finish the first semester of school. But there won't be lambs or calves. Here they arrive with autumn because the summer heat is so intense all the grass burns off.

Well, best get on or lunch will become dinner.

Welcome back scout and welcome to blondiedollface cangratluations on your new baby. I agree with Cats, don't push yourself to get housework done while baby is still so young. Enjoy the time with her and look after yourself.

Thanks Adora - your girls both sound very different. I am aiming not to buy too much this Christmas and to make what I do buy very carefully chosen. Your suggestions are very helpful.

I am increasingly aware that I am a bit in denial about her age and what is appropriate. She starts High School this time next year and I don't want to make a fool of her by keeping her too young but also don't want to hurry her up into adulthood either.

Hello to all the newbies. Smile

babystep day 3

Just wondered has anyone ever tried joining?
I just tried but couldn't Confused

Some people warn against joining cause you get loads of emails.

I joined ages ago Cats. You can choose to get one daily email. I have to admit I don't read it though. I waste enough time as it is.

Ds is off today with a fever. I also have a fever so I cleaned out the gpigs and hoovered before my shower which meant I could anticipate a nice cold shower afterwards.

I am now dressed and have put a lot of stuff away that dh didn't know what to do with. I have learned that it is a bad idea to do the food shop when you are tired and premen. I seem to have bought loads of junk Blush I will have to hide it. I don't want it now but late Saturday afternoon it seemed like a good idea.

Today's main task is to get through the day without feeling too rank. I need to get a wash on, the dw on, the kitchen table decluttered, Twilight to get her toenails cut and deal with all my friend's ponies. I think that is more than enough for the way I feel right now.

I hope everyone else is healthier.

Morning all

So far I have got up, showered, dressed, dried hair, had breakfast and got a load of sheets in the washer. Then I've been wasting time catching up with friends news on Facebook Blush. I haven't even started any work yet! Blush Blush OK, so now I am going to make a cup of tea and get an hour's work done before lunch!! Any encouragement and kicks in the right direction appreciated!

Cats I really wouldn't bother. It's full of adverts for their cleaning stuff and gushy testamonials (that doesn't look right no matter how I spell it!) about how Flylady has changed Florence in Alabahamas' life, like, forever!!!!
Seriously, this is waaaaaay more support than the e-mails.
Will post lists in a minute, just doing my lunchtime wizz round while the girls are asleep!

Arti!!! Get mooving girl!!!!!!! Ten minutes per room......ready.....steady.....GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello! I am a complete FLY newbie and would like to join if you'll have me. My life and flat are a tip but I am determined to get on top of everything.

Today my sink is shining and I am dressed to shoes. Smile The only other thing on my list is to make a decent dinner for the family - very small babysteps for me! Smile

I managed to not strangle MrScout this morning. We drove home this morning, via the petrol station, Starbucks, the car dealership, MrScout's office and Tesco. Toddler and I only got enough stuff to get us through dinner this evening and I will do a full shop tonight -- I was not about to take Toddler for a full shop (and I mean we have NOTHING in the 'fridge apart from some water, chocolates and condiments) after three hours in the car (it normally takes just under two but all of the extra stops meant more time). We'll need to collect MrScout from work later so early dinner & late bed for Toddler.

I'm slowly unloading the car. I've taken one bag of clothes the laundry I washed at the in-laws upstairs but haven't put it away since Toddler's having a "I want to be downstairs with my trains/tracks" afternoon. I've brought in his tracks but not his box of accessories (bridges, tunnels, bells, etc). He's happy enough for the moment so I can unpack the other toys/paperwork bags. I managed to get a lot of planning/prep done for our preschool themes and projects/activities for the next few weeks so I need to get them all out and put onto the shelves for easy access.

I'll need to finish downloading all of the holiday pictures for Mom & Dad and harass MrScout about downloading all of the video he took (he took some good shots/movies of Toddler at the beach and on the miniature steam railway -- M&D will be over the moon to see Toddler's expressions and hear how much/well he talks).

I am tired.

Just curious -- is this the list thread, the chat thread or the both thread?

Report
CatsInChaos · 03/09/2012 13:29

Hi all, For the mo Scout This is both chat and lists unless we fill it really quickly then we might think about two threads again. Wink It's just things went quiet in August so I thought one thread would be o.k. We will see how it goes.Smile

I think my curiosity about today's babystep has gone. --I gave up on it--
I think maybe as others have said there is enough information on the site without joining and --getting drowned by emails-- getting the emails. Grin

Welcome pixiestix Just jump aboard. Smile

Yes Scout, I can understand that as we had problems with DD when we were away from home. She seems a bit better now in the home environment.

I'm off to see if I can rescue my kitchen. --looks like we nearly used all the cups/plates etc-- Blush CHAOS seems to take over after the weekends. Hmm

A hi to Puddles and Pixie!
OK - so I did manage an hour of work ( as in work - work, not housework) made and ate lunch, got sheets out on line and another lot of washing into washer ( I'm washing my winter coat- think I may need it far sooner than I'd like to!). Ive empties bins and recycling bags. Everything still feels very slow and I am very achy today. I've got one lesson prepped for this evening and have another to go. Heads down for another hour of work-work!
Pixie and Puddles - it sounds like you are making a great start. Hope everyone gets the stuff done that they need to today!

Toddler feels warm and has pink cheeks. He's desperately gnawing on everything he can. He's also been on my lap for nearly two hours. We're gorging on cuddles and cartoons.
