Come and sign in here ready for September and the return to school.

Where we attempt Flylady babysteps or whatever we can get done! Wink

Where are you all? Zoo, Carrots, bessie, Adora, Scout, Camper and any newcomers who would like to join. Smile

Scout - have you tried peeling a carrot and letting him gnaw on that. It works really well if it has been in the fridge and is really cool (tip I learned from a friend who is a paediatric nurse!)

Scout19075 · 03/09/2012 16:24

Thanks arti. I'll try again but every time I give TS a raw carrot to eat he looks at it like it's just landed from the moon despite loving steamed carrots. I'm going to Tesco tonight so I'll get a carrot to try tomorrow.

I asked him if he was happy to be home and he said "oh yes." He seems content to be by himself again. I think by the end of the week with his cousins he was fed up (they are load, overbearing, grabby and not very gentle with toys and the only toys they played with were Toddler's).

I feel like I have so much to do but don't know where to start. I'm going to shine my sink & stove tonight and start with a proper to do list tomorrow along with some flinging, etc.

I am feeling like I am on the mend thanks Smile Hopefully it will either go away or just be a cold brewing.

I got all of my to do list done except decluttering the kitchen table and hanging the washing that I have washed Blush

In my defence the plumber appeared and was here until 8.45pm (poor man) so it was a bit tricky to get some things done.

I also got quite a few jewellery making bits and bobs sorted out and mostly made so that was progress too Grin

Scout19075 · 03/09/2012 22:51

I am not off to a good start. Sad

carrotsandcelery · 03/09/2012 22:54

Tomorrow is another day Scout. Today was a tough day to start to be fair.

I am getting myself pampered tomorrow (haircut and eyelash tint). I haven't had my haircut since early May (possibly April) so it is loooooong overdue and my eyelashes are invisible (true blonde).

Is getting your hair and eyelashes done a flylady something? I am sure she had a section on personal grooming Wink

AdoraBell · 04/09/2012 03:12

Hair and lashes, that's two job surely Carrots Wink

I didn't leap into action today, felt too weary. OH has a "probably virus" and I'm beginning to feel a bit under the weather too now.

So, kitchen and futility still need doing, but I did make a cake and get shopping and refuell the car and feed the dogs and do the school run and make dinner. Also found time, at last, to e-mail friends. Tomorrow I realy must get some real cleaning done, and try to go the gym.

CatsInChaos · 04/09/2012 03:23

Morning all, (knows it is far too early)

carrots How did you cope with years of sleep disturbance? (Hope I have this right). DD has had me up 3 times so far tonight. Sad

Does anyone else with a 3 year old or older child still get woken up every night?
Not sure if this is common or if it's just my DD. Confused
It could be separation anxiety, or it could be eczema or just that her nappy has disturbed her (might need to be changed). She has now gone back to sleep but I am awake. I have put her cream on in case it was eczema. If she wakes again, I will change her nappy.
I will try to go back to bed soon. No school run today but I was going to get up early to practice for tomorrow. --I think I will forget about that now as I NEED sleep--

If anyone gets on here before me (after this post) pleases could you do today's link, thanks.

Hopes everyone is o.k.

Morning all. Crappy sink and still in pjs so I need to up my game a bit today Confused

carrotsandcelery · 04/09/2012 08:42

Oh dear Cats. It's torture. I really sympathise. I coped by putting on loads of weight and becoming addicted to Pepsi Max. I wouldn't recommend the same course of action Grin

Adora sorry to hear you feel ropey. I hope you didn't get it from us. We all have a cold now so it was obviously that horrible bit at the start of a cold working on us.

So far all I have done today is to make the dcs and dh scrambled eggs and toast and got myself washed and dressed.

I have also heard ds do his reading which was an exercise in extreme patience and I got dd to put the gpigs out on the grass for the day.

I am off to hunt out a vest top as my top is a bit lower cut than is polite Shock

cakebot · 04/09/2012 08:49

Hi all,
So far today I have done tabletops and floors in kitchen, hung load of laundry up outside in the hope of sun, had toddler follow me outside and tread loads of wet grass all over newly swept kitchen so am about to start again. I did sweep the ceiling in the kitchen before I looked up todays mission- I must be psychic! I'm too scared to look on to of the fridge just in case I'm growing mushrooms up there or something!
Oh yeah two of us are washed and dressed. Toddler (yes, again) has taken all his clothes off, so is sitting in his nappy, but he'll be dressed in a minute!

Might do a bit more in kitchen today. Do we need to stick post it notes all over the place? I might just write it down in a book!

Scout19075 · 04/09/2012 08:53

Cats, Toddler regularly wakes in the night, too, after months of sleeping through. And when he was sleeping through I was on drugs that kept me awake/from decent sleep (it made me exhausted but an insomniac at the same time stupid drugs, not looking forward to those side effects again). Nights like last night I think Toddler was sleep-walking he came RUNNING into our room and bed like he was being chased and was promptly asleep curled up practically under me. Other nights it's two hours of up-and-down. I must admit I get cross and crabby then but am usually okay-ish in the morning if I can get more than two hours of sleep in that period.

Have realized that next month my baby turns three. Three! Shock I do have until the end of the month but still, it seems funny to say "oh, TS will be three next month" when asked how old he is.

Back in a minute to post lists.

To Dos and Ta Dahs:

Toddler & I up
Toddler & I dressed
Toddler breakfasted
dishes washed up
pots & pans washed up
stove top washed
large clothes bag, trains accessories box and new star poster brought in from car
postcards hung on Toddler's door
star poster hung in Toddler's room
Ss pictures created; collage done and two coloring pages (start of alphabet reinforcement since he already knows his alphabet we're making things that start with each letter to do informal phonics because he's showing interest)
Ss pictures hung
Ss pictures have photo taken and uploaded for grandparents
holiday pictures uploaded for grandparents
emails sent to MrScout: perfume link, wedgits link, pictures printing question
call for hair appointment
follow up with hospital (re: drugs)
take out recycling
empty clothes bag (put away clothes, put away bag)
fling: downstairs, upstairs
declutter 15 minutes: downstairs, upstairs
town: collect package (we have a mystery package that arrived while we were away)
what's for dinner: take sausages from freezer
what's for dinner Wednesday: take chicken from freezer
emails: HE friend re: meet-up, Guiding friend re: meet-up, grandparents re: photos of holiday, grandparents re: photos of Ss

I swear there's more but can't find my hand-written in my notebook list at the moment (I think it's buried in art supplies from this morning's project making with Toddler).

We're a one-car family at the moment and I told MrScout to take the car since my work at keeping Toddler awake until regular bedtime was ruined within five minutes of being in the car at 5:30 which resulted in TS still being awake at 9 p.m. last night. Town will require walking and I think Toddler has caught his cousin's cold so will be breaking out the stroller in a bit.

educatingarti · 04/09/2012 11:08

Morning all! Yet another slow morning for me, but not quite as bad as yesterday. I'm just off to make myself a cup of tea and do an hours work. I really need to do at least 6 hours of actual work-work today. Only one student to teach, but more lessons to prep, tax return to complete [yawn] and want to watch a bbc programme about dyslexia ( on iplayer) as well as reading some stuff on business plans in an attempt to plan how to extend my business [exciting but not sure whether what I plan is viable financially]

Scout you probably know these websites but just in case:
Starfall and Kent literacy

Loads of early phonics activities - and free too!

CatsInChaos · 04/09/2012 11:35

I feel like I am failing big style today. (Still sat here in pj's)
I just want to bury my head under the duvet and ignore today --ain't gonna happen--
All I have done is eat and drink and feed the DC.

Sorry all, don't want to drag you down. Just having a down day.

Please feel free to ignore!

Just over tired I guess but also worried about how on earth I will get everyone up and ready for the school run tomorrow morning especially if DD won't let me get enough sleep.

OP posts:
CatsInChaos · 04/09/2012 11:48

Joyful, some of us have been doing Flylady for month's so please don't worry if you don't get much done.

I certainly won't be doing much today Wink

OP posts:
CatsInChaos · 04/09/2012 11:54

I have just about decide "What's for dinner" tonight --cause we don't have a lot off food left-- (need to go shopping later) and I have made my bed but that is about all I have done.

I will make myself get dressed soon. DS will have friends calling for him before long so I like to be dressed before he goes out of the house incase anything was to happen.

OP posts:
educatingarti · 04/09/2012 11:58

Cats - can you spend some time today getting as many things possible organised for tomorrow - uniforms laid out, your clothes laid out, bags in hall with PE kit etc, packed lunches ready in fridge; you could even put out breakfast things in readiness (may be a step too far). Allow extra time tonight for baths/ stories etc so that you can do it in a relaxed way but still get them to bed early? If you have a shower tonight you won't feel like you need to have one first thing tomorrow? I'd scrap flylady today and just do the stuff that will make life much easier for you tomorrow morning. IT might help you to feel calmer and less stressed about it?

pixiestix · 04/09/2012 11:59

I'm having a down day too Cats. Well, not down so much as panicky. I feel really overwhelmed by everything. Not even sure what to put on my to do list as there is just too MUCH to do. Its making me feel quite ill.

That is a very impressive list Scout!

Sorry for everyone with a cold. DD has one too. It doesn't feel right having a cold when the sun is shining! Confused

Ta Das
Me and DD dressed
Sink shiny
Dinner in the slow cooker
A load of washing done and on the line

To Do
Take DD to the park
Buy more cleaning products!
15 min declutter of my bedroom which is my most terrifying hotspot
