cats heat helps my backWink

CatsInChaos · 08/09/2012 21:39

bessie No I don't think stretching will help my back. My lower back I hurt earlier in the year trying to lift DD and since I fell down a few stairs a week ago I have had an achey pain on and off in the top half of my back. I slipped off the top step and landed on the top of my back/shoulder blade area.
I will need to visit doctor before long about my meds so if it still hurts then I will mention it. It's not absolute agony but hurts enough to notice. I wonder if I cope well with pain cause when I gave birth I only had gas and air.

zoo Glad to have you back! Smile I missed you!
Sorry to hear about all the chaos you have been going through at home.

My DD starts nursery again on Monday (not old enough for school yet although she will be 4 this year.)

I am stuffing my face with chocolate! and drinking chocolate Grin

Ooops --just realised some are older on the thread-- Blush Grin

--would prefer alcohol but not meant to drink--

This "old gimmer" is here but just off to unpack shopping!

bessie26 · 08/09/2012 22:30

I am here - have been watching last week's Dr Who, then the 400m & trying to write a meal plan/online order ready for when we get back from hols.

zoo sorry to hear about all the chaos - is yours the last room for them to do?

cats when I fell down the stairs a few years ago (bounced down on my arse!) it took about a month for my poor butt coccyx to recover. Personally, I would go see your GP about it ASAP - my friend hurt her back & it took at least 6 weeks for her to get a referral to a physio through her GP.

AdoraBell · 08/09/2012 22:38

Hi

My friend is okay, thanks for asking. The fire was contained in 1 room, so she was able to douse it with a fire extinguisher, but as she opened the door the room ignited. It had been just the few things close by the heater, but the curtains, rugs and furniture caught with the influx of oxygen. I still maintain that she should have gone out and left it to fire fighters tough.

I'll back later, hi Zoo

carrotsandcelery · 08/09/2012 23:01

Grief! It has all happened here today Shock

Adora and bessie I am Shock at people's behaviour during a fire. Yikes!

zoo I am so sorry to hear about all the upheaval. That sucks Sad

AdoraBell · 09/09/2012 03:58

So, little up date. All I've done today is coffee, laundry and dinner.

Last night DDs had a friend over and so forgot to tell me about the party today. Lucky they had bought skirts and got one free, so that got wrapped up as the gift. We've put our flag outGrin, Sept 18 is independence day and they make a week's holiday out of it.

Cats hope your back gets better quickly.

Zoo what a nightmare! Hope the work gets done quickly and properly.

Bessie I know, sometimes it seems like people just don't understand how dangerous fire can be. I'm quite sure that if my house were to catch fire there is nothing I couldn't either replace or live without.

liveinazoo · 09/09/2012 06:40

bessie sadly my room isnt last...
on tuesday its the front room
wednesday the kitchena pipe has to be cut to fix a wall crack too so i will be without water wednesday

Scout19075 · 09/09/2012 08:03

We're at the in-laws again for my MiL's birthday. Going home tomorrow morning.

Still a one-car family so days like tomorrow means Toddler's bedtime is shot. I shall leave MrScout to cope with bedtime since he's the one insisting we leave tomorrow morning and I deliver/collect him to/from work rather than go this evening so he can have the car tomorrow.

Cats, I'm sorry for your loss and hope you're feeling better.

Hello zoo, I was wondering where you were.

Andora, people are stupid when it comes to fire. They're either petrified or have no fear. This comes from years of experience teaching/building campfires of all sorts with G.S. and G.G.

I have been going a bit mad on Pinterest this weekend when I should be doing other things like tracing and cutting out things. Toddler's in heaven with his trains, the cats and cuddles from Nana. We went to a N.T. place for cream tea yesterday so he was Smile but then we got to ride the buggy from the entrance up the hill so he was doubly Grin. He only needs two more stamps in his book to get a certificate (he'd have had it long ago if we doubled up on stamps every time we went to certain places that we frequent).

I wish I had a Ta Da list but I don't. Sad

I realised at breakfast that I left some washing out on the line last night. And it was misty here first thing, so it will all be damp and I have more stuff queued up to go on the line! I may have to put the TD on today to get everything dried in time - it is forecast to be 25deg here today!

zoo hope all the work goes smoothly

scout I will checkout your pins later! Off to Tesco's in a min to complain about the things they missed off our order and get my money back!

CatsInChaos · 09/09/2012 11:34

Am showered and dressed now so feeling a bit more awake. Grin

I also have washing to go on the line in a mo. Decided to do some last night after DS got mud on his trousers playing out.
DD's nursery clothes are on the airer so should be ready for tomorrow

I need to go shopping today but we are on a tight budget. I will need to be creative again when it comes to meal planning. Need to try and sell some more things in the local newspaper. Wink
Hoping I may sell a painting next month.

Scout19075 · 09/09/2012 17:40

I feel flat.

CatsInChaos · 09/09/2012 18:30

What's everyone up to today?

I guess you are getting ready for your holiday bessie

I'm just having a bit of chill out time before I sort the clothes etc for the morning.

I will do tomorrow's link now as I might not get time first thing.

We had an "at home" at the in-laws day. I went to HobbyCraft, though on my own, leaving the boys home.

How about you Cats?

bessie26 · 09/09/2012 21:27

I have done washing & packing & cooking

carrotsandcelery · 09/09/2012 22:53

I am still sitting here waiting for the wm to finish. Twilight's bed is in there. I will have to sanitise the wm afterwards.

We have had a very busy but lovely weekend.

bessie26 · 09/09/2012 23:09

glad you've had a good weekend carrots - and thanks for reminding me that I have stuff in the WM!

we're off on our hols tomorrow - fx the weather stays nice!

carrotsandcelery · 09/09/2012 23:28

Where are you off to bessie? And how long are you away for?

We are going to Wales in a few weeks. It's a very cheap and cheerful cottage holiday but I am looking forward to it. I have to get away from the house to stop feeling guilty about what I am not getting done in the house now and again.

bessie26 · 09/09/2012 23:45

Just a few days at CenterParcs carrots - we are taking my parents, so DD1 is VERY excited!

I will have free wifi & no chores to do, so will probably be online more than usual! Confused

AdoraBell · 10/09/2012 02:57

Evening everyone, or possibly good morning unless you all log in really late

bessie I hope you have a good holiday.

It's been a busy old day here, OH got loads of things done DIY-wise. Estate agents want to do updated photos. Carpet fitters came back to change the damaged carpet and managed to get glue on the walls, which now have to repaintedAngry. I did 5 loads of laundry, DW has just gone on for the 3rd timeConfused and the dogs have been walkedGrin. I've decided to take the black bag approach with DDs, especially Señorita Stroppy aka DD1.

All I need to do before I can go to bed is put the salmon, currently cooling, in the fridge for tomorrow's packed lunches, and boot the big dogs out.

This week I'm going to the dentist. I'm a scaredy cat at the dentist so I didn't go backBlush and as a result I've lost the temporary filling and the sharp edge is rubbing on my tongue, which is now swollen and quite sore. My own fault entirely, she told me to go back the following week, back in February.

carrotsandcelery · 10/09/2012 10:36

Sorry about your tooth Adora. I am not a big fan of going to the dentist either.

Have a great time at Centre Parcs bessie. Smile

I have got loads of jobs done today. Mostly my usual routine but a few extras thrown in. eg cleaning out the seal on the wm, stripping beds etc.

Dh is muttering about setting up a bead room for me so I thought I should control the beady chaos a bit too. Blush

educatingarti · 10/09/2012 11:09

Morning all.

Zoo _ hope things are not to chaotic with all your building work! All of you seem to have been wonderfully busy with stuff over the last few days. I had a really rubbishy week last week where I was really listless and just couldn't motivate myself to get on. This week will be different! I am telling myself that all I need to do is just keep going from one thing to the next. I was telling myself that last week too. I think I was having trouble with my inner teenager just saying "yeah, whatever!" all the time. Grin
I do think that my Fibromyalgia is at least a part of the problem, particularly in how hard I am finding it to get going in the morning and in how easily I get distracted! However, Fibromyalgia or no Fibromyalgia, I still have to earn a living, eat and have a reasonably clean home ( reasonably is not a very high standard btw) so I don't want to start using it too much as an excuse. I have an appointment about my Fibromyalgia at the hospital tomorrow, so we will see what that yields!

I hope all you going on autumn holidays have a great time [jealous].

Carrots, I do have a craft/DIY room ( double as my guest room occasionally!) but it doesn't stop chaos everywhere else. The craft room is in the most chaos though! Grin

Scout - I hope Toddler demonstrates to Mr Scout the wisdom of your advice about bedtimes so that he learns how important it is to listen to you isn't too difficult at bedtime Grin

Now I must get on

Feel free anyone to check up on how focused I have been later today! My inner teenager needs I need the accountability!

Off to dry hair, make a cup of tea and work!!
