Hanging out your undies...

I have no problem in hanging out DH's pants but I feel funny about putting my knickers and bras on the line in the garden, mainly because both sets of neighbours have full view. Is this just silly? Do you hang your lacy smalls out?!

It's a slow afternoon in the Bear house and this is the kind of thing that I've been pondering in front of Biggest Loser while eating kitkats.

If mine go outside, they are hidden because they are old and manky

I hang everything out. I have no lacy smalls though! If I'm feeling prudish, I might try and put my knickers and bras in the middle of the rotary line but I'm not that fussed really.

Mine are well hidden or go in the drier!

Today I have compromised and have the small line dryer thingy (what are they called?!) that normally takes up the whole sitting room with my undies (because my sitting room's small, not becaus my undies are big ) sitting outside the kitchen door. They're outside but on the patio. Neighbour 1 saw me putting them out and waved at me. probably thinking what is that crazy woman doing pinning knickers to a metal frame

My back yard is over looked on one side. I put all my washing up on the line and then put my undies on an airer behind it

i have 2 lines, one goes the length of the garden that all the neighbours can see, and one goes the width of the garden, which only i can see - so of course all DC's undies go on the line that the neghbours can see, but my undies go on the line that only i can see!! :)

Mine just go on the rotary line with everything else, and I normally do undies last so they're on the outside too. Both neighbours overlook but I'd never even given it a second thought tbh!

Mine get hidden as much as possible. I tend to put the peg on the gussets so nobody sees them. I don't want my gussets on display.

Why do gussets get bleached?! mine do, and I have no idea why.

if I see a neighbour's washing line with no underwear on it, I like to say to DP "Oh, Mrs Bloggs doesn't wear knickers!" and laugh uproariously.

For some reason DP doesn't find it as funny as I do

On th inside of the rotary drier and each hanging by one peg (not spread out so everyone can see) and

I hang everything out. If anyone is scandalised by it that's their problem.

Solos it's something to do with certain times of the month and the acidity of the fanjo "ahem" fluids

I hang all my undies out. And where they are on the whirligig depends upon where they are in the basket. So if they're on the bottom of the basket, they go on the outside of the whirly. Even the grey knickers and humungous sports bras. Shameless, I am.

And, actually, the bloke next door is a lovely chap who has got much better things to do with his time than inspect my washing line, I'm sure.

They go out I'm not bothered they dont see them on and tbf I don't think they care

They are so boring and non-descript (think M+S grey white cotton) that I can only wish good luck to anybody who gets their jollies by viewing them.

My gran never used to hang her knickers out as the next garden was the parish priest's .

I don't get this prudery about hanging undies out. I have a rotary dryer and all the small items get hung in the middle and the larger ones on the outside. Even if I had a long washing line I would still hang out my undies.

I hang out the good ones...nothing BIG or dishevelled.

and I hang matching stuff together.

Although tbh I don't hang out much,mostly into the drier with it, unless it is a glorious drying day, I cannot be doing with the constant sky watching.
