Fledglings Fly into July!

BlueEyeshadow · 30/06/2012 21:28

Welcome to the July 2012 Fledgling Flyers thread. Park your mops, buckets and microfibre cloths here!!

A huge "thank you" to SanguineChompa for leading us throughout June!! Thanks

If your house is a mess and you are strugging with C.H.A.O.S. (can't have anyone over syndrome) and S.T.U.F.F. (something that undermines family fun) then this is the thread where we (loosely) follow the step-by-step Flylady housekeeping system (in our own, unique, relaxed style) with lots of chat, support and wine along the way.

We advise not signing up to receive the Flylady e-mails as you will be inundated! All the information you need will be linked here on a daily basis.

From the first of the month, we will be following Flylady's tips on restoring order to our homes, and as we are all at different stages we will be using one of the following methods:

  • repeat or start baby steps
  • repeat baby steps + do 15 mins a day decluttering in the current zone
  • reinforce babysteps and do daily missions if you have finished decluttering.

All welcome!!

Apologies for starting the thread so late - it took SC lobbing the duster at me to make me remember it's July tomorrow (and I've blatantly cut and pasted her OP too)!

The first baby step is to shine your sink! See here for the Fat Fairy's tutorial...

No mission because it's Sunday. But here's the flight plan for established flyers

PositiveAttitude · 30/06/2012 21:31

Oooooh 1st to sign up!

Thanks SC. Not promising anything for July, but might pop in for a quick catch up now and then.

I have left work now and only 2 weeks to go until our big move. Totally manic times!!

elliepac · 30/06/2012 22:21

Signing in. I have posted update on relationship trauma on other thread. Didn't want to scare any newbies away Wink.

NickNacks · 30/06/2012 22:24

Hi I'm in!!!!

Ellie I haven't been on much lately but have read about your tough time and wanted to let you know im thinking of you. I know it's not allowed but [hugs]

WisteriaWoman · 30/06/2012 22:41

Count me in. I"m a newbie Fly baby but I reckon FL has transformed my life. i"m no longer totally hacked off with housework - instead I happily FLY around the house and it's slowly looking better and my mood has improved ! Grin I LOVE her book it's brilliant.
Quick question is there anywhere in the UK to buy FL products ? IF not, can anyone place recommend similar products.
Thanks.
Am off to bed at a decent hour....cause watching Andy Murray is boring and Fifty Shades is more fun !

musttidyupmusttidyup · 30/06/2012 22:56

Can I join? I'm starring baby steps tomorrow. Smile

swanthingafteranother · 30/06/2012 22:56

Ellie, I read your post, and I think you are being unbelievably brave. I think if you just think in weeks rather than years, and see what you think after a while, nothing is final NOW. It may take a long time to work out what you want.

Day over. Had lovely read with ds2 before bed. Fete tiring, but alright (managed to help sufficiently not to feel at all guilty) Delicious Polish pirogi. Kept to diet. Walked a lot. Grocery shopped. Steak dinner. No tidying...
Body Clutter sorry SC I'm always out of kilter, I'm weighing in at 77.5 atm.
thanks for thryoid comments, I think the tiredness is sort of depression in origin, not really to do with thyroid anymore as that has been corrected. So I need to tackle that really [sigh]

Tomorrow I have made a plan to go swimming with ds2 first thing and have breakfast there, an attempt at breaking the mould.

musttidyupmusttidyup · 30/06/2012 22:56

starting great start

swanthingafteranother · 30/06/2012 22:58

Although, tomorrow I am going to start setting myself some routines again.
If it is easy to stick to a diet, it must be easy to stick to a routine too! Must believe in my own willpower...

sanguinechompa · 30/06/2012 23:04

Laying out my shoe-laces and newly bought pkts of tan tights here ...

Mahoosive thanks for taking over Blue and don't worry - I think I blatantly cut and pasted that particular OP from Ellie! Grin

Two weeks PA cripes!!!!Shock I can't believe it! Bet it was lovely finally handing over the work reins though? Good luck with all the last minute arrangements.

Hands Wine to Ellie (have posted on previous thread)xxx

Welcome back WisteriaWoman it's great the system is working for you. Don't think Flylady products are available here but Lakeland good source of handy cleaning products.

DD and I stayed up to watch the new Muppet film tonight while dh went off to bed early. Wierd full moon and strange clouds floating about tonight when I went to bed down the bunnies. Ate rather a lot of shepherd's pie for supper. [SC sneaks off to try and rig the weighing scale for the morning]

sanguinechompa · 30/06/2012 23:08

x posts

A very warm welcome to Musttidyup!! Huge waves to ¨Nicknacks and Swan (glad you survived fete)

Must stop automatic round-up - fingers working independently of hand Grin

CarpeJugulum · 01/07/2012 07:12

Morning all.

Hugs to those in need, or just if you fancy one. I'm forcing one on ellie Wink

Anyhow, not posting too much, mainly marking my place ready for tomorrow; Sundays are not so much about flying, more about roosting Grin Will dig out scales too later on and let you all know that I've put back on as I've had a poor week and been really bad

NickNacks · 01/07/2012 08:10

Good morning people!

Still in bed ATM as it was dhs turn to get up with the dc. I'm not overly tired though so will get up shortly.

We've also been invited to my parents for Sunday lunch so no cooking or clearing for us today :)

Would like DH to cut the front grass if he can.
I need to buy ds2 some new plimsolls.
Pack all the school kits for next week
Lay out tomorrow's clothes
Put all the clean clothes away
Hoover stairs and hall

Not too much for a Sunday but can't afford to have a completely lazy day.

Body clutter- my weigh is Tuesday's so I'll check in with you then with that.

Have lovely Sundays everyone!!!!!

CarpeJugulum · 01/07/2012 08:52

Body Clutter

Oh FFS. Put on more than I've taken off. Up to 155.8lbs.

Not going to let it derail me though. This week I will not eat crap!

CarpeJugulum · 01/07/2012 08:53

Sorry 158.8. Blush

swanthingafteranother · 01/07/2012 10:27

right, so far, have achieved

cooked breakfast for all
marmalade muffins (experiment)
swept floor
wiped table
washed up
recyling
tried to sit in garden with Dh and have a nice chat but that was derailed by a row Sad
lunch organised (ready meal plus potatoes and veg)

read the Flylady link (thank you Blue) and trying to concentrate on that a bit better this week. (have been laying out clothes though!)

Renew Your Spirit today is going to consist of trying not to let rows blow up, and persuading the children to help mow the lawn... They all insist they went to Church on Friday, so I think with the current mood, church is not going to happen..

Ds1 being thoroughly bolshy before breakfast, hope some physical exertion/task will sort him out. Dd flouncing endlessly, ds2 being very polite and calm [for now]

needto
buy everyone new pants, we seem to have run out again
buy hose
buy bigger pot for camellia
swimming/walking?

coostoonettle · 01/07/2012 10:54

Good morning and em Blush hello

I'm very sorry that I have been AWOL! Life has been very hectic and shows no sign of letting up.

I really need baby steps and led by the hand.

Please please please can I return and plague you with lists and not comment too often Confused possibly at all for days and days.

I miss you guys loads but just don't think I'll be able to keep up as I tend to shy away when I know I haven't read any of your posts.

So basically can I use youse all and dump and run?? Grin huh huh can I plllleeeaaaassseee

coostoonettle · 01/07/2012 11:00

ellie huge hugs xxx

OverflowingMum · 01/07/2012 11:07

morning all

am being officially lazy today! may have drank 1 glass of wine too many last night Blush, and hence am lacking in energy and motivation this morning! Fear I have also ruined what was possible previously a good week on the battle against body clutter...sigh. I have to say I am still not brave enough to actually wiegh myself! I will soon though so I can officially join you all!

right...today I need to
Sort littlies room (bad!)
400 loads of washing!
quick tidy round areas I did yesterday
Roast gammon for dinner
sort stuff for me and DS2 for school trip tomorrow
sort everyone else for school tomorrow

not sure what else...

now need to get motivated!
BBL Grin

elliepac · 01/07/2012 11:13

Jacqui12 · 01/07/2012 11:30

Still need to do
loads more washing

foad · 01/07/2012 12:00

Marking my place. Need to read the last weeks posts.

body clutter down 6lbs in total - I think that's 3lbs this week.

See you all later. Wing flaps to all, hugs to Ellie...

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 01/07/2012 13:29

Marking place, back later, have had a busy weekend and invited a friend round later so need to go and get busy. Welcome to all the new people and special mention to Ellie, thinking of you.

sanguinechompa · 01/07/2012 13:51

Hello all. Humid here and still have wierd sore throat virus thing which keeps going away and coming back.

Woke up to find door of rabbit hutch open and no one at home [gulp]. Thankfully wasn't Monsieur Renard as found them happily munching in borders [phew]

Chickens have come home to roost today
Body clutter first Blush

1 July 2012 = 79.8 kilos so I have put back exactly 1 kilo Blush. Knew it was going to be a crap result this week as I've been ill and did very little exercise, lost my way with meal plan and generally ate in an "unaware" fashion. Bum nonetheless. MUST TRY HARDER/DO BETTER. Really pathetic after just one week.
24 June 2012 = 78.8 kilos
17 June 2012= 80.2 kilos

And now I am forcing myself to do boudoir horror having left it all to Sunday afternoon.

[That wasn't a very positive post either was it? Grin]

A warm welcome to the thread to Jacqui12 Sounds as if you have your work cut out with 4 dc. Hope the system helps. Any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Yay Nettie don't worry about posting lists without personals - whatever works - it's always great to 'see' you and loads of people don't have time to be on here consistently/or have time to respond to every single post - thread moves too fast. Whatever works for you.

Gammon one of my favourites OFM

Huge wing flaps to Ellie Swan Nicknacks and Carpe (ditto re weight gain - enjoy roosting! and everyone else

sanguinechompa · 01/07/2012 13:55

oops Flaps wings at Foad and Whoknows too

Dh has taken over command of the kitchen/shopping this weekend and is preparing some sort of lamb cous-cous dish bless him (loads of veg for me) and has bought loads of lovely plums and apricots at market

DD is busy preparing flag of Spain Confused in prep for match tonight

Boudoir of doom is calling ...
