Come inside for a Brew and a Biscuit and maybe even a Wine if the mood takes you.

A thread for chatter and nonsense Grin

sounds like progress Scout!

educatingarti · 01/05/2012 22:08

OK - for all those needing early nights it is now officially bed-time!

Scout19075 · 01/05/2012 22:14

I need to finish my dinner first and bag up some toys for the hospital tomorrow then I'll be going to bed. (Should wash up, too, but think sleep might be more important at the moment.)

bessie26 · 01/05/2012 22:43

2, maybe 3 months ago we decided that it would be a good idea to get a kitchen cupboard put in the utility room to replace the scruffy shelf.

I got a man round, who said if we got all the stuff he would fit it for £50.

I discussed with DH what the man had said about the cupboard going over a pipe, meaning that the top shelf in the cupboard would be pretty useless, but that's ok as there would be two others.

When I went to order the cupboard the other week, they asked me if I wanted the regular or "tall" cupboard. I had no idea, so came home again. I have just looked & it is obvious that we don't have room for the "tall" one (sloping roof).

I (stupidly) asked DH to come & look at where the cupboard will go. He has now decided that he is going to ask his mate if the pipe can be moved (to go through the sloping roof) so we can use all 3 shelves in the cupboard.

This means that it is now pointless me painting the room & ordering the cupboard tomorrow. Next week is my last week of maternity leave. When I am back at work, I will not have any spare time to do painting or getting men round to fit cupboards.

I am very pissed off. This was agreed months ago & yet he waits until now to change his mind.

rant over.

carrotsandcelery · 02/05/2012 09:38

bessie it is now HIS project and you expect the whole thing done by the end of the month: painted and everything. Grin You were prepared and available and he changed the plan so it is now his job to get done.

Ds slept in Shock He has obviously got up at some point and then had snuggled in with me when it was about 7am and fallen asleep with me. I woke at 8.10 with him snuggled up and dh kissing me goodbye.

I didn't have the heart to wake him as this is so unusual so I sneaked out and got washed and dressed (the hairdryer didn't wake him) and got everything ready for dd and for him if he woke. He got up at 8.45 and I managed to get him to school on time He was dressed, fed and teeth brushed and out the door. We did have to drive again but he was there on time Grin

I am now having my sultana bran with extra dried fruit and will then be having a large fresh orange. I can't have the pain killers until I have eaten so I am having my breakfast before my jobs today so that I can take painkillers and cope with the jobs.

Scout good luck at the hospital today. It might be worth telling the consultant about the extra stress you have had this week just incase it has affected any outcomes. I will be thinking of you.

carrotsandcelery · 02/05/2012 10:54

School starts at 9am here zoo so it was a tight squeeze. It is more than a 15 min walk to school so we had to drive or be late. He stood in a daze pulling on clothes and eating food and looking confused. He is normally up for about 3 hours before school.

Can you blast yourself with vit c and echinacea zoo? Sounds horrid whatever it is.

Yay for miniCarrots sleep! He's doing so well, it must have made such a difference for all of you over the last couple of months? How was your early night?

It's a nice idea about giving the job to him, but if I told DH he had to do it, he would just stick his heels in & refuse (we are more similar than I care to admit), and of course he has a million other jobs on his list!

So, I am carrying on as planned. I have bought the paint (it looks greener on my walls than on my screen), am just having a Brew and will then start painting. When I've finished (it will need 2 or 3 coats so coud be a few days), and have bought the cupboard I will phone my cupboard-fitting-man. That gives DH a good few days to get round to speaking to his pipe-moving man.

Hope the hospital goes ok today scout - did TS sleep ok?

Polishes and sticks a Gold Star on Toddler's chest for being the Most Excellentest 2 1/2 Year Old at YOUT Hospital Today.

Considering I had to wake him and we were at the hospital for nearly four hours (two appointments, two tests and a consultation) he was BRILLIANT.

He was desperate for a nap and thought about falling asleep on the way home but he's in his bed now. We've only had one get-out in the last ten minutes. He's not fully out but well on his way. When I know he's asleep I'm only going to let him sleep for an hour because he's very late down and I'd really like to give him a Gold Star for being the Most Excellentest 2 1/2 Year Old at Bedtime, too.

Scout19075 · 02/05/2012 13:23

Gently puts another Gold Star on Toddler's chest -- this time for being a Most Excellent Boy at Staying in His Bed and Falling Asleep with Only One Get Out of Bed.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 02/05/2012 13:59

What's up arti?

educatingarti · 02/05/2012 14:06

I didn't take my own advice about going to bed at a decent hour!
I stayed up till silly o'clock messing on the internet and reading random mumsnet threads!
I then had a physio appointment at 8.00am this morning so ended up with less that 5 hours sleep.
After physio appointment I went back to bed and have slept all morning and part of the afternoon !
I'm sitting here still in pjs. I have eaten lunch though ( more cauliflower and pasta cheese) and I'm having a cup of tea. Then I'll be off to take a shower and get dressed properly! So much for babystep 2!

bessie26 · 02/05/2012 14:11

look at my lovely green wall! (pic on profile) - I'm only half way, but had to stop to eat lunch (poached eggs & fresh from the garden asparagus [showoff])

Well done TS!

carrotsandcelery · 02/05/2012 14:18

Hello again folks.

bessie I love the green. I love strong colours and it would make me smile everytime I noticed it.

Scout huge WELL DONES to TS. You have done so well this week and it sounds like he is getting the message. Fab mummying skills!

Arti - sit on the step until you can explain to me why your behaviour was inappropriate Grin
