Pyjamas- How Often Do You Wash Your DC's?

This is for those whose children aren't in pull ups/ nappies at night ( IME their pyjamas need washing more frequently because of the wee smell ).
How often do you wash your DC's pyjamas ?
Mine change theirs 2/3 times a week - I'm just wondering what other people do.

Don't tell me, some of you iron sleepwear, don't you?

imnotmymum · 22/02/2012 14:12

Of course I iron sleep wear I do not liked to look crumply in my jammies and the kids look so sweet but then I do iron knickers and tea towels... its genetic

Loonybun · 22/02/2012 14:14

Every night. Dd suffered with recurrent threadworms for a while (tmi, sorry) and I found that washing her PJ's (and knickers) on a 60 degree wash as well as her bedding (once a week, not once a day) seemed to knock the problem on the head... I've kept it up since just incase!

Loonybun · 22/02/2012 14:15

Just to add - i meant wash / change her pjs and knickers daily, bedding once a week! Sounded like I was saying I wash her knickers once a week! oops!

GooseyLoosey · 22/02/2012 14:15

Couple of times a week.

TobyLeWolef · 22/02/2012 14:16

Every day. Same as all other clothes.

imnotmymum · 22/02/2012 14:20

Now all other clothes can last longer than a day as only wear after school or at weekends end up getting totally mucky playing out in 5 mins no point putting clean ones on !!

georgesmummy11 · 22/02/2012 21:59

Everyday same with his clothes (have an obsession with the smell and feel of clean clothes) Blush

MrsCrafty · 25/02/2012 00:09

I would let my two sleep in them for a week but they have this horrible habit of putting them in the dirty washing every day. I am working on this.

I think that as they shower every day they should wear the same PJ's for a week at least.

startail · 25/02/2012 00:16

In theory every two or three days. In practice DDs find, loose, wear and chuck pjs and night shirts randomly into the washing, their rooms and each others rooms.

CointreauVersial · 25/02/2012 00:23

Twice a week.

FizzyLaces · 25/02/2012 00:37

I bath dd nightly as it is part of her routine so two/three times a week (she is 3). DD1 on the other hand is a teenager and generally when they arrive in front of the machine either after being put there by her or after wandering there of their own volition (although she has been doing her own washing all week as she is after some one direction tix) Grin

GreyTS · 25/02/2012 00:51

Clean pajamas after bath every night in this house. Can't bear sleeping in nightwear for more than 1 night myself so same for children. Have one trained toddler and a baby in nappies.

zipzap · 25/02/2012 08:45

Aim for once a week, might be a bit more if they are not too bad or sooner if needed, say if they are ill. So could be next day in some circumstances. So 'as necessary' is the rule rather than a fixed number of days.

Ds2 (3) on the other hand loves his pjs so much it can be a battle to get him out of then in the morning as he wants to stay in them for ever and ever and gets grumpy if I have to put his favourite pjs in the wash! :o

Sanesometimes1 · 26/02/2012 18:45

Another daily here - sorry but I consider PJ's to be the same as pants, would not wear there for more than a day either.

TheMonster · 26/02/2012 18:51

Every day.

forehead · 26/02/2012 19:10

Every day. My dc's don't wear underwear to bed. They need some fresh air down there.

festi · 26/02/2012 19:14

2 or 3 clean changes a week.

muddymooncups · 26/02/2012 19:29

I wash DDs PJs every day, including her onesie if she's worn it.

DD has a bath/shower every night except Fridays. Makes up for it on a Sat. when she has one after swimming & before bed. Grin

DS(15) just wears his boxers! Grin

I have always washed them daily. DD does have her breakfast wearing them.enough said Grin

spotty26 · 27/02/2012 22:10

ToxicToria · 27/02/2012 22:22

Every night.

My two wear theirs before bed to play in, sometimes straught after tea and in summer they need changing every night do to sweating or as my ds1 (8) charmingly says "stinky pits" Smile

AuntGertrude · 05/03/2012 10:20

Once a week unless they're ill.

CremeEggThief · 05/03/2012 10:24

Honestly, some of you are making way too much washing for yourselves!
