Afternoon everyone.

DH took a bit more encouragement to get out of bed so haven't been out but DS and I have been playing with all his toys which was good fun! Have also managed to clear the kitchen counter and the hall. All in all not bad for today.

Dinner for DS is potato waffles, beans and Birds eye vegetable fingers (vain hope to try to get some veg into him).

For Dh and I will be fish and pea risotto.

Anyone else? x

BlackCatTryingToFly · 31/01/2012 16:34

I have just cleared and put away some drying up from earlier. I have managed to stay on top of the kitchen/washing up today so am hoping it will stay that way. Grin

I was thinking we would have sausage, mash and peas tonight for dinner.

Best go and make a start on it.

Scout19075 · 31/01/2012 16:40

I'm very impressed with people managing to fly during the witching hour/s. I struggle between 4/4:30 & about 7:30 (TS's normal bedtime is 7 and I allow myself half-an-hour to breathe relax when he's gone to bed).

liveinazoo · 31/01/2012 17:00

bessie26 · 31/01/2012 19:01

Burgers sound good zoo will defo be trying those.

I got everything done in the end. Cooking 3 meals from scratch is too much for one day!

liveinazoo · 31/01/2012 19:07

juast went for a wander round MN..discovered sainsburys has renamed tiger bread giraffe bread after a 3 1/2 yo girl wrote asking why called tiger when looks like a giraffe!my dd3 LOVES giraffes.will make her day buy some of thatGrin

bessie26 · 31/01/2012 19:12

zoo One of my friends posted a photo of the letter on fb, but I have NO idea what it is!?

liveinazoo · 31/01/2012 19:27

tiger bread is a LUSH bread that has a sesame paste spread on it before baking, which gives that pattern and a lovely nutty flavour Smile

Scout19075 · 31/01/2012 19:31

zoo, we had stew made in the slow cooker -- beef, potatoes, carrots, onion, peas, gravy/sauce. Tossed it all in this morning (except the peas, otherwise they're a bit too mushy) and the house smelled heavenly.

Am supposed to be going to Guides tonight for the BP Presentation and Promise Ceremony. MrScout not home yet (not unusual) and sadly don't feel like going though two of the four getting their awards tonight are (now) active members of my Seniors.

Would much rather stay home with a warm drink and some chores. I am sad.

liveinazoo · 31/01/2012 19:38

i need poking with stick scoutif you have one handy....i know i should go and wash up and restore order to my kitchen but my head telling me it s tired and the lure of the sofa and tv is strong!!!

bessie26 · 31/01/2012 19:44

Bread sounds lovely zoo, now get off that sofa!

I'm just about to put DD2 to bed, then need to wipe out fridge & sweep kitchen floor before DH comes home from supermarket.

Scout19075 · 31/01/2012 19:52

I'm having the same probblem, zoo. So I'll jab you with a stick if you'll return the favor? Part of the problem is MrScout still isn't home so hasn't had his dinner -- if I wash up now I'll just have to turn around and do it again in a few minutes. Best to wait and do all of the dishes together or I'll spend my evening at the sink.

bessie26 · 31/01/2012 19:53

btw, have you all read the how to get organised thread? It's very long, but some good ideas on there!

bessie26 · 31/01/2012 19:54

Can't MrScout do his own dishes? Wink

liveinazoo · 31/01/2012 19:56

thanks bessie
snatches her stick and jabs naughty zoo kids running riot upstairs instead of sleeping
pokesscout with it then skulks off to tackle the dishes

Scout19075 · 31/01/2012 20:05

He could, bessie, but I'd end up redoing them because his idea of a wash is different to mine.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 31/01/2012 20:41

Has anyone seen carrots anywhere ??

She has been gone a long time.

If you are around I hope everything went well. Smile

BlackCatTryingToFly · 31/01/2012 21:07

I'm off to bed as I was up too early.

Hope everyone is o.k.

carrotsandcelery · 31/01/2012 21:13

Evening everyone. I have had a crazy but lovely day Grin

The coffee I went to was a coffee morning and was very good indeed. I got to speak to lots of people I don't often see and learned lots of useful information and got lots of help for dd which has made me much more Grin

I then had lunch with some much closer friends which was just a great laugh.

Then I went straight to school for ds and on to his activities, where I saw some friends again.

Then I came in and painted with ds, played a game with him and ate tea with him and had to whizz out to a meeting.

I am only just in and I am shattered. It is tiring spending time with people when you are on your own so much but it has made me feel a lot better.

Dh has done the dishes but there is a bit of room rescue required. It is not much but it would quickly get out of hand. It will have to wait though.

I am out late morning tomorrow and out for lunch as well. Most unusual for me.

It sounds like everyone has done really well today.

zoo that recipe sounds great thank you - I will be stealing that one Grin

bessie I keep trying to read the organised thread but it is soooooo long that I have to do it in small chunks.

scout are you ok? Are you just tired? Toddlers are hard work when they are whingy and clingy.

I am going to read a different book tonight. The one I am reading is too exciting and I can't sleep when I put the light out (The Hunger Games).

Scout19075 · 31/01/2012 21:14

Didn't make it to Guides -- MrScout got home 10 minutes before the meeting ended and it takes me 12 minutes to get there. I've just had my dessert and should go do the washing up but have gotten involved in big families program.
