Anyone else????

I always seem to have a side of washing up, its rarely all done.
then theres the clothes etc washing I have a mountain!
bathroom needs cleaning although my house is nowhere near as bad as the ones on kim and aggies tv show, the main rooms I can keep tidy are living room, dining room, bedrooms. although living room gets trashed by 2 year old daily I mannage to keep it fairly useable.
is anyone else like this?? I must admit though I do procrastinate a bit!

Hello Sookeh, It's hard when the dc are young. I think I am doing well this week cause dh is home so he helps out with looking after the dc.
I'm not normally this motivated.
I'm sorry to hear about your washing machine.

I have done another 2 loads of washing today, now in the process of getting it dry, I might manage 1 more load tomorrow, then I will have to think about packing.

AngelDog · 27/07/2011 23:02

Well, I've not done lots the last couple of days. We're off on holiday as well (tomorrow) so I've been packing & sorting bits out, and we've been busy with other things too.

Hope you have a good time, lookatthatmess.

way2serious · 28/07/2011 20:44

I wouldlike to join your thread and have enjoyed reading the messages - I feel much better knowing I am not the only one struggling. I have one DS who is gorgeous but both DS and DH are dreadfully untidy!!
I am going to try to tackle things in small steps as suggested. We are going away in 10 days and I have loads to do before then both at home and for work.

Tomorrow

I am going to do the ironing (and put clothes away!!)
two more loads of washing
collect holiday tickets
write thank you cards for birthday gifts

Good luck everyone!

AngelDog · 28/07/2011 23:12

Welcome, way2serious.

Going on holiday was delayed as a tile fell off our roof (fixed now). That meant I actually had time to tidy the house and hoover the kitchen before we left - pretty much a first for us! Grin Normally I return to a messy house full of washing waiting to be put away.

We're off now so I can (kind of) forget about housework for a while. :)

way2serious · 29/07/2011 14:39

Have done the two loads of washing.
Have done the ironing that has been sitting in the basket for three days.
Have collected the holiday tickets.

Still need to:
iron washing currently on the line
put ironed washing away
write thank you cards.

Will check in later to hopefully say that all today's tasks have been done and write the list for tomorrow!

lookatthatmess · 03/08/2011 21:24

Hello just got back from holiday today after long journey but all went well.
Hope everyone o.k.

Snackalot · 03/08/2011 21:35

Hi all, I'd like to join, but am too unmotivated to decide which job to do tomorrow...
Perhaps I could put away the washing I did today.
Need to phone the local vicar, email a lady about village hall, write sth for village newsletter...
Vacuum.
Another load of washing.
Consider packing to go away for weekend.
I'm on day 3 of Flylady baby steps... so whatever it suggests for day 4, I guess.

Have to say I didn't quite 'get' the lace-up shoes thing. I wore sandals all day.

lookatthatmess · 03/08/2011 22:21

Hello snackalot,
I've just been on holiday (but you probably guessed that if you read my last post) so I will try to start with washing tomorrow and food shopping.
I haven't started FlyLady properly yet cause I knew I was going away last week, so I didn't think I could commit to it yet. I might have a look at it tomorrow again and see if I feel ready yet.
I did wonder though about sort of doing my own Ideas of what jobs to do next cause I think sometimes its hard to stick to certain jobs, life gets in the way!

lookatthatmess · 04/08/2011 06:50

Today's "To Do" list:

Unpack suitcases, bags,
do some washing,
put away washing I did before holiday,
wash up,
go food shopping,
Try to look at FlyLady website,

I think that will do for starters.Smile

Snackalot · 04/08/2011 09:03

Hi lookatthat
I'm doing that with the Flylady thing already (d4!). A bit like my inability to exactly follow a recipe, I've already decided not to check the website daily (what's the point?) as long as I check out the baby steps. And time when I'm not in the house doesn't count, I figure.
We'll just see how long it sticks.
Even with the list of jobs I posted yesterday, I've already found other jobs I'd rather do :)

Snackalot · 04/08/2011 09:04

Anyway, it's raining here (yay for the garden, boo for keeping children entertained). No point doing a load of washing today.

lookatthatmess · 04/08/2011 15:07

We had rain most of this morning so I haven't done any washing yet today.
I think I'm still in holiday mode cause I'm finding it hard to get going today.
I'm probably still tired from driving home yesterday as well.
Have done:
Food shopping,
One lot of washing up,
unpacked most of clothes etc from hols,

How is everyone else?

lookatthatmess · 05/08/2011 22:13

Hope everyone's o.k. Smile
Anyway, here's what I got done today:
washing, hanged it out,
hoovered up,
went to town(not housework I know) bought some school clothes for ds
cooked tea
dh washed up.
I'm Still not feeling very motivated. perhaps that's what happens after being away from home for a while?

AngelDog · 07/08/2011 23:08

Hello everyone. I've just got back from holiday too.

Our spare room (was called the 'junk room' but has been optimistically renamed the 'organised room' Wink) is a bombsite. The bedroom which is notionally DS's is drowning under cloth nappies & our bedroom is full of baby clothes needing to be put away, and desperately needs hoovering.

The kitchen looks pretty tidy though. :)

I got very cross with the mess in the living room, so I'm going to try to get some storage boxes for Ds's toys.

To do tomorrow:

  • Measure living room shelves
  • Post swimming lessons cheque
  • Stuff pocket nappies
  • Put away dry nappies (if time)

And do some washing, of course.

Evening routine:

  • Pray
  • Physio
  • Clear kitchen table
Mummystootired · 08/08/2011 05:50

Glad you're backSmile I thought everyone had abandoned ship! and got bored of the thread.
I will post later about housework, am trying to start potty training today so I don't hold out a lot of hope when it comes to getting much else done.
Dh is back to work today aswell so i'm flying solo. hope I don't get too lonely.
Might have to attempt a toddler group!

P.s. Have name changed again.

SilveryMoon · 08/08/2011 06:43

Hello all
I've been trying to do the flylady thing on and off for a couple of years.
There are certain bits from it that are now second nature and I can't imagine not doing them (swish & swipe bathroom every morning), but other things I let sip (shining sink in the evening).
The best tip I got from Flylady is keeping all the washing up in the cupboard under the sink. We don't have a dishwasher, so I have a storage box in the cupboard under the sink where all the washing up goes through the day.
I've had to change a few bits, like I do my weekly home blessing hour on a saturday, not monday, but do try to stick to zone work.
I return to work in september so am a bit worried about how I'll stay on top of everything then, but hopefully it won't be too bad because no one will be home all day.

TO DO LIST
*shower and dress
*swish and swipe bathroom
*make beds
*Hoover and mop
*ironing
*ds's to get dressed
*letter recognition games

best get cracking then

SilveryMoon · 08/08/2011 06:44

Mummystootired Good luck potty training. We've just done ds2 and it is such a relief! Smile

Wow SilveryMoon You have a long to do list!
Don't mind you joining at all. It's nice to hear what other people are doing.

He goes into reception class in september and his nursery teacher has sent home packs to all parents with some activities in to work on their numbers and letter recognition and phonics.

SilveryMoon · 08/08/2011 10:55

Confused How did I get the whole sentance in bold???????
lol

Mummystootired · 08/08/2011 21:01

Hello, not much progress made today really, if I'm honest I feel a bit ill, Have bad back ache and just feel quite pants! Sad

SilveryMoon · 08/08/2011 21:09

Evening Mtt Sorry you aren't feeling good Sad Hope you feel better soon. I've been feeling pants the past few days, have had the worst lady-cramps ever, today is the first day that I've been ok.
Did everything on my list apart from go to the chemist and clean the kitchen.
Will do those tomorrow.

I've just woken up on the sofa Blush I closed my eyes at about 6, after dinner, and have woken to Titanic on the telly and the ds's asleep.

AngelDog · 08/08/2011 21:26

:(, Mtt, hope you feel better soon. Do have an early night!

SM, that's a horrible feeling, isn't it? I've never dropped off on the sofa but have often fallen asleep feeding DS to sleep at bedtime. :)

Not an awful day, but not brilliant here. DS spent most of the afternoon shrieking and I've not had much patience.

Done 2 out of 4 things on my to do list, but have done a few other bits instead.

Not started my evening routine yet as have been sidetracked by the internet - off to do that now.

AngelDog · 08/08/2011 22:36

Hmm, kept messing on the computer so didn't do evening routine after all Blush, although I did clear the kitchen table.

To do tomorrow:

  • Sort pocket nappies
  • Top up phone
  • Put away dry washing

Off to bed now.
