Curious because lately I've let things slip (understatement!) and I need to know what things to do everyday to keep on top of it all again.

wipe kitchen countertops
sweep kitchen floor

Geepers · 19/11/2010 12:11

I have to be honest and say that with the exception of wiping the sides and sweeping the kitchen floor, I don't do half of these things on a daily basis Blush

Actually, I do also do at least one load of washing a day. DD1 is terribly messy and DD2 suffers with reflux so she and I are generally both covered every day.

BollocksToThis · 19/11/2010 12:23

Wash dishes, wipe surfaces. Usually at least one load of laundry. Those would be the only things I do without exception.

ginnny · 19/11/2010 12:26

You lot are good.
All I do every day is:

Wash up
Wipe down kitchen counters
cook
make beds

in other words - the bare minimum Blush

I do have a blitz once a week on my day off, then I do the whole house.

SecretSlattern · 19/11/2010 12:27

Well, I'm on mat leave atm so I've plenty of time on my hands, but I just cba and can't seem to snap myself out of it.

aquavit · 19/11/2010 12:38

daily bed linen change?? good grief. Ours is weekly. Have enough laundry to do as it is.

My routine is identical to Mayor's, apart from floor mopping weekly-to-fortnightly.

essexgirl31 · 19/11/2010 12:40

Clean kitchen surfaces

Make beds

Tidy toys away

Hoover mess DSs make with Dyson handheld.

(This wonderful machine has changed my life. I use it a lot everyday but it means the big hoover is only out every couple of days)

er that is it

oneofthegiantsisme · 19/11/2010 12:40

How much rubbish do people generate that they need to empty the bins every day? Our kitchen bin (small 11l Ikea one) usually needs emptying twice a week - the others (bathrooms, bedrooms, study) get emptied on bin day.

For the rest:
dishwasher/washing as required
make our bed (kids do their own, in theory!)
wash up stuff that doesn't go in the dishwasher (saucepans have wooden handles, unfortunately)
wipe down kitchen surfaces
wipe down shower with a microfibre cloth when I've finished in there

That's about it - everything else gets done on a weekly basis (hoovering, bathrooms etc).

ShatnersBassoon · 19/11/2010 12:40

Laundry
Hoover
Clean kitchen
