LTmuseum is fab isn't it? A bit pricey though. Glad you had such a great weekend Dyls.

I have come down with a nasty cold/sorethroat, so hoping the Lemsip and caffeine will kick in in a mo - then onwards and upwards. We had a lovely time in the not so near local park yest. The boys are still obsessed by football, and dd is obsessed by her pink football boots Grin

Hope your dad enjoyed his visit Scatty. How is your stepmother at the moment?

Jas · 11/10/2010 09:35

Thanks for the new thread Dylsmum

Monday is my bathroom day, and ours is tiny, so hopefully I will get the whole weeks worth of missions done today!

Trying to complete that huge list will stop you feeling tired! There is loads on it. Good luck.

wendyhappysmile · 11/10/2010 09:47

Thanks for the thread Dyls

Still feeling nauseous and tired, think the stomach bug is just stomach and nausea.

Bathroom is good, DH cleaned the shower last night! i will manage the rest this morning.

Just making double batch of veggie crumble, one for tea, one for the freezer Grin, then doing very brief home bless (not like the monsters you ladies did last week!)

funtimewincies · 11/10/2010 10:56

Srry you're feeling rough wendy. Ds1 was sick in the night, so is parked in front of CBeebies rather than being at Nursery. I've given the sicky bedding a first wash, a bleach wash is going through and then I'll give the bedding another wash.

Ds2 (10 months) is asleep and I've just been having a blitz. Luckily the bathroom was done yesterday.

Today it's...
Finish washing sicky bedding and peg out
Wash ds' quilt and peg out
Clear up our bedroom and hopefully hoover and dust.
Make apple crumble for tea
Make banana loaf
Roast small pumpkins to make soup for the freezer
Hoover and dust lounge
Clean kitchen floor.

I fear that I'll only achieve about half, but we'll see Grin!

swanriver · 11/10/2010 11:33

I've cleaned ds1's room
unloaded dw and reloaded
found something important Smile
tidied ds1's bookcase up
breathed the fresh air outside

it sounds cosy in your house this morning Fun apples, pumpkins and bananas baking

decluttered bathroom ready to swipe

now onwards with hoovering (sore shoulder making this a less than fun activity)

funtimewincies · 11/10/2010 11:56

The delights of an allotment swan. It means a very busy summer and autumn and there's always something going on in my kitchen, but I love it Grin!

NorksDownSouth · 11/10/2010 13:32

Hello :) Could I join please?
Just moved house and want to keep on top of things.

dylsmum1998 · 11/10/2010 13:35

Swan yes it was a bit pricey considering lots of museums are free, would have been fab if I could of dragged another adult with me, then could have paid half each with the 2 for 1 train vouchers. But never mind dc loved it so was worth paying.

Wendy hope you stop feeling nauseous soon

funtime Envy of your allotment- I want one!

Jas - have posted on your thread.

Jas · 11/10/2010 14:12

WElcome NDS Smile

And thanks to those who have looked in on my thread.

I've done the bathroom, the house bless[bleurgh] and a road safety talk at ds' class.
Now to sort the odd sock box, and organise tea.

wendyhappysmile · 11/10/2010 18:12

Welcome NDS

House bless done downstairs Grin - how does anyone manage the whole house in an hour?!

Feeling better thanks for the concern.

Yummy veggie crumble and DH made pancakes for pudding, but I had no room!

Jas have commented on your thread

Fun your list was challenging! how did you do? I would love an allotment, have been on the waiting list three years!

dyls what did you buy?!

BBL

swanriver · 11/10/2010 18:34

I'm pleased because I've tackled some fiddly paperwork/forms
thought a bit about halfterm
tea is over (the most basic and boring)
and ds has gone to Cubs
dd and I reading last chapter of Finn Family Moomintroll tonight - can't wait to find out what happens when the Hobgoblin returns Blush

I'd forgotten how awful a runny nose and sore throat makes you feel, still, I suppose nausea is the worst. Well done on all the things you got done today Wendy

South hello

swanriver · 11/10/2010 18:37

I got offered an allotment (only waited for six months) when I was pregnant with the twins (I think they were less fashionable then) and foolishly turned it down. My neighbour turns out 30 bottles of wine alone from his, not to say all the other stuff.

dylsmum1998 · 11/10/2010 18:38

WEndy nothing particularly interesting. I bought some new photo frames as I want to make a photo wall. Then bits and bobs of food/drink for christmas.

Have no idea how people home bleurgh ina n hour it always takes me ages

clean bathrooms
dd breakfast

My house bleugh only takes an hour (but I cheat).

swan what a good memory you have. Dad's visit was ok. I realised that if I delayed buying the newspaper until the afternoon he would join in a bit more rather than sitting down and reading the paper from cover to cover. Step mum is doing great, far exceeding expectations.

Hope all the poorly people are feeling better, lots of 'bugs' going around.

Been to parents eve today (thankfully no further surprises) so no flying. House bleugh tomorrow.

funtimewincies · 11/10/2010 19:47

I managed...

Finish washing sicky bedding and peg out done
Wash ds' quilt and peg out done
Clear up our bedroom done and hopefully hoover and dust.
Make apple crumble for tea done
Make banana loaf
Roast small pumpkins to make soup for the freezer done
Hoover and dust lounge
Clean kitchen floor.

That's my downfall, I do the jobs I enjoy first Blush apart from the sicky bedding of course Grin.

Welcome Norks. I've just joined and it's really friendly.

If you're struggling with getting an allotment, try landsharing. I've just signed up to use someone's back garden. The owner is disabled and unable to do much with it and I need more space for spuds (yes, I'm addicted Grin).

I got my quarter allotment plot just after my first miscarriage and it's been pure therapy. I often think that if the pg had continued, we'd probably be still waiting for a plot.

Nuttybear · 12/10/2010 07:51

Gosh! you lot have been busy. I looked at your thread Jas I think everybody has said the things I was thinking. Oh! 1 tip from my work experience, get as many intelligent people you know (DH's are never to be include until the end of this process) to help out. In my last job application I had 3 people help me and it took 2 weeks! It was a work of art (if not fiction ha ha) I loved the process because it made me proud how skilled I am really.
Funtime I'm in the same boat. Waiting for DS to wake up after he puked last night. Mum gave him blueberries so it was bright pinky/mauve! Matteress cover & bed mat in the wash last night. Quilt & PJ's in the wash now. Sheet pillowcase, Rug & bathmats next! he up now so best get him to school and off to work late. Have a good day!

wendyhappysmile · 12/10/2010 10:01

Morning all
Have been productive, feeling less ill today.

Cake, butternut squash and tray of potatoes all baking in the oven - good oven use for once! Squash for soup, potatoes for filling with butter and cheese and putting in the freezer for post-baby meal.

To do
Finish cooking
post office, errands in town
swimming bags ready in car
washing and peg out
pick up dd
play date with dd
cake and bake at school
swimming lesson

Think that's enough for one day.

See you all later

scattyspice · 13/10/2010 08:03

Morning Smile.

funtime that landsharing idea sounds wonderful. I am hopeless at gardening etc, but I enjoy the fruits of dh's labour (and ds too).

nutty oh no blue/green vomitting doesn't sound fun.

Hope you had a good day yest wendy.

Today:
laundry
dd friend for tea
ds to beavers
buy food

funtimewincies · 13/10/2010 10:33

Morning all,

I, Funtime-'Procrastinator'-Wincies, promise this day to clean my kitchen floor Blush.

Yesterday's discoveries, however, were...

  1. the time it takes my kettle to boil is EXACTLY the time it takes me to brush my kitchen floor.
  2. Worcestershire sauce in pumpkin soup is a revelation Grin.

Today's jobs are...

Floor, floor and floor again
Hoover and dust lounge
Woolly wash (with ds1's favourite toy as he's out all day today) done
Dishwasher loaded and on done
Hoover and dust ds1's room

swanriver · 13/10/2010 13:09

High school references done I think this has been one of the biggest problems of our (mixed)marriage - my taking children to church - and has caused more arguments than even the mealsGrinSad so it feels like a mountain to have climbed that the ds1 and I have been to church 3/4 of the time over last five-10 years, but still not in my eyes quite good enough. But priest put us down as practising Catholics so I feel v. pleased but determined to try harder to keep children involved, learn more myself and do more for parish and try not to let dh down in the process.

sorry, party political broadcast over, now feel as if a weight has been lifted from my mind.
Housework beckons Smile

hello all flyladies
TPThow are high school applications going for you? Have you made your choice?

Halfterm plans semi-made
Going away to Eire this weekend by myself to see my family - feels like an exciting adventure

Dyls hope dcs are enjoying new schools.

swanriver · 13/10/2010 13:10

funtime also need to tackle floor here, but need to do piano this afternoon, so possibly not till kids home.

funtimewincies · 13/10/2010 14:56

Progress so far...

Floor, floor and floor again Blush
Hoover and dust lounge will have to wait
Woolly wash (with ds1's favourite toy as he's out all day today) done
Dishwasher loaded and on done
Hoover and dust ds1's room dusted but have discovered that hoover is full and have no more bags

Forgot to add to list...
Clean grill pan
Wash nappies
Put away laundry done
Wash towels done

Right, kitchen floor

Wish me luck, I'm going in Grin!
