Sage green, not a dark one. Any recommendations?

Our living room needs a facelift and I’m thinking of changing the walls from beige to a sage green. I don’t want it to be dark though.

The range of green in the DIY stores is a bit overwhelming and the tester pots never come out like they look on the colour charts.

Has anyone got a similar colour that they can recommend?

This! We have it all over, it's lovely

This is how they look on my monitor. I like Cromarty.

Yes, I would like this colour.

F&B French grey is in fact a fab sage colour! Also Dulux dried sage!

lingmerth · 19/03/2024 23:39

Is it me or do all the testers you tried look more blue than green?

GiantRoadPuzzle · 19/03/2024 23:43

We tried loads of the same ones and ended up going for Cromarty.

It’s my favourite room in the house.

Try F&B Cooking Apple Green. Not 'sage' exactly but a very soft lighter green. I've done two rooms in it over the years, both successful, and it's the sort of colour that works wherever, not just in a certain light.

I second this. It's a really beautiful shade of green.

Sage is a blue green though isn't it.

What aspect does your room have @Muchtoomuchtodo , if it's north, south or east/west will make a difference how each colour looks.

Also, you said earlier about choosing your paint colour then choosing fabric to go with it. It's supposedly easier to choose your soft furnishings first then picking the sage green paint that goes best with them.

We have F&B Green Ground in our house and love it.

I have Dunelm Willow on the hall stairs and landing it's light enough for the dark landing and looks really fresh in the bright downstairs landing.

F &b card room green in my downstairs shower is sublime

Yuckyyuckyuckity · 20/03/2024 10:39

All your testers don't look that sagey to me. Might just be the lighting but yeah.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 20/03/2024 16:11

I was just thinking the same @Yuckyyuckyuckity !

new one added on the right - wild wheat by Leyland. Think that’s what’s going up this weekend!

Ooh, lovely! You've done very well, imo.

RainingCatsandfrogs · 21/03/2024 17:04

Dulux have a new green, Fresh Artichoke, l have the tester on my wall alongside several others and this is the one everyone likes the best. Tranquil Dawn is a nice grey green.

It’s just what I was after, I just couldn’t describe it very well. It’s £36 for 5 litres so a bargain too!

Thought if you today. I went in to b&m and they have sage throws for £4/5. The ones that were £15 and are super soft.

It's not what I thought was sage green but they are labelled sage green.

Ooh thanks.

This room hasn’t had any real tlc for 15+ years so it’s having a good makeover now. I’m going to get the new lights, mirror (maybe) and possibly order curtains tomorrow so I’ll pop in and have a look.

I’m now completely flummoxed by the choice of rugs!!
