Another friend has a laundry chute upstairs, so you chuck your laundry down a hatch and it ends up in the utility room. Very clever!

That is just living the dream-I have always wanted a laundry chute!!

I think…
Detached house
Boot room
En suite
Kitchen island
Hot tap
Large kitchen/diner

Bluesheep8 · 26/06/2021 07:33

A pantry
A lovely front door
Nice garden furniture
A beautiful garden

WellTidy · 26/06/2021 07:36

Beautiful storage. Not just functional and lots of it, but beautiful. Generally painted in on trend colours.

So - boot room type storage, pantry, urltility, bedroom, study, the works.

Space for a gran piano

Palavah · 26/06/2021 07:38
  • grand!

Quite like the idea of a gran piano though

PawsQueen · 26/06/2021 07:39

Walk in wardrobe (I am looking at changing my spare room to one though!)
Utility room

Alannawhorideslikeaman · 26/06/2021 07:39

Little Victorian metal framework porches. I don't know why because I'm sure they're just spider traps which need constant sanding and repainting to prevent rust, but whenever I see a house with an original metal porch I immediately think it's going to be the most beautiful house inside.

Atalune · 26/06/2021 07:44

Walk in larder.
Swimming pond
Crittle doors
Inside / outside flow through with a deck and sing chairs

@spotcheck

Utility rooms
Oh my, yes, absolutely this!

I also get envy over decent outside space and outbuildings

AmazingBouncingFerret · 26/06/2021 08:14

Upstairs laundry room.

My next house will have one or at least I’ll put one in.

OverTheRubicon · 26/06/2021 08:32

@DramaAlpaca

My friend has an upstairs laundry room. I wish I'd thought of that, it's so convenient. Another friend has a laundry chute upstairs, so you chuck your laundry down a hatch and it ends up in the utility room. Very clever!
If you're both in terraces or attached houses, u're a better neighbour than your friend, though. Our next door neighbours in my last house put in an upstairs laundry room, and it's a nightmare - washer and dryer going into the night made it really hard to sleep next door and we have cracking in the room it's next to that I was sure was connected.

Every time I see another post on MN blithely recommending it, I wonder if it's my former neighbour, and feel like putting a warning on!

For me it's rooms with high ceilings and tall windows.

A lovely big, private garden where my DP can have some chickens and I can grow my own veg Smile

gonow · 26/06/2021 09:10

A lovely indoor swimming pool that connects to the house

justanotherneighinparadise · 26/06/2021 09:26

Play rooms.

SwedishEdith · 26/06/2021 10:58

Tidiness and no junk
An accessible and organised loft
The flooring all sorted out so don't have to ever think about it and not a patchwork of different floors in different rooms
A spare room so hobbies/wfh etc don't spill over into everyday living space.

BasiliskStare · 26/06/2021 11:35

Friend of my mother's had a lovely interconnecting indoor swimming pool - lovely but lots of upkeep.

BlueberryMill · 26/06/2021 11:40

Old brick garden walls instead of fences

CluelessHamster · 26/06/2021 11:57

Storage. I'm always jealous of American houses/apartments with their walk in, or at least very big and built in, closets in every bedroom, big bult in vanity units in the bathroom, pantry as standard. Even the smaller homes seem to have brilliant storage. My flat would look so nice with everything chucked behind the doors!

ChrissyPlummer · 26/06/2021 11:59

Storage space. I once lived in a flat where the only storage was the kitchen cupboards. There’s now 2 of us in a 3 bed but it still feels cramped and like we don’t have enough room.

bumblingbovine49 · 27/06/2021 12:58

Downstairs loo
Bathroom bigger than a postage stamp ( can't even open the door fully as it bangs on the washbasin )
Utility room
Hallway bigger than s postage stamp
Sitting room you don't have to walk through to get to the.kitchen/ diner
Larger garden with space for garden office
Reasonable.soze spare bedroom ( ours can't even fit a single bed unless it is a narrow one, around 75 cm wide and maximum 190cm long-so no headboard)

Morelikethat · 27/06/2021 13:25

Wooden floors.

DH Doesn’t want them And anyway it would be very difficult here as we have concrete floors underneath the carpet and the ceilings are very low would need to have the concrete drilled out first!

alloverthecarpetagain · 27/06/2021 15:28

Period features, sea view, large smart bathroom.

UnoStacko · 27/06/2021 15:29

More than 1 room and a kitchen downstairs.

I long for a dining room :( We all eat sat on the couch

CimCardashian · 27/06/2021 15:30

I would love a utility room too, with storage for boots and an extra sink.
