My friend has an upstairs laundry room. I wish I'd thought of that, it's so convenient. Another friend has a laundry chute upstairs, so you chuck your laundry down a hatch and it ends up in the utility room. Very clever!

Islands in kitchens

Swimming pools. Very large rooms. High ceilings. Period features.

Location location location…. Specifically in the school catchment I want

For me it is location - you can usually make most other things work . I have looked at houses which are lovely and beautiful but I looked outside and think - OK - what do I do now. So - explains why living in small house.

Entertainment consoles

You know those wall to wall wooden concoctions with space for TV, speakers, dinky little shelves to display a few hard bound books or some modern ceramics... those type of consoles. I always sigh with yearning when I see them in magazines

Houses that are newly decorated to the current owners taste. I never have the money to pay decorators and I'm too lazy busy to do it myself.

I have long list - we have outgrown our house and prices in SE are ridiculous so moving not possible.

My biggest fantasy though is room size walk-in wardrobe which everyone has in US shows I watch.

Walk in wardrobe and set away from neighbours so you're not too overlooked. When they look 'clean' from the outside.

Downstairs toilet.
Walk in shower.
Guest bedroom.
Bigger rooms.

But, its location... we make the space work as its a good school catchment.

Big enough driveways that they don't have to rearrange the cars everytime someone wants to go out.
Tree in the garden, bonus point if it's a fruit tree.
