I’m trying to organise an overnight stay in a hotel for a treat but my companion is a compulsive vaper.
Im not sure how to proceed as everywhere non smoking, will this be a deal breaker?

The thread’s about the effect of vape in a hotel room after someone’s left it. No-one’s kissing the last occupant.

I don’t believe for a moment that anyone can smell vapes from the last person who stayed in a hotel room. Absolute rubbish.

Listen up. I vaped in my hospital bed. No problem. It was a single room. Bloody great.

I obviously vaped under the covers, pretending I was reading, and only at night when staff numbers were lower and things were quiet. X rays and CT scans cause cancer so what the heck.

Ha! Nope. Fag smoke you cannot get rid of. If I’d lit a cigarette in any of my aforementioned hotels, I absolutely and quite rightly would have been charged for cleaning. And since hotels will charge for ANYTHING these days, they would definitely have charged me for cleaning for vaping if they’d known. They didn’t, so it didn’t happen 😇

I do not believe that you or anyone else has ever smelt vape from the previous occupant in a hotel room.

I haven’t said I have. But that doesn’t mean no one has.
my point stands though. If a room states no vaping, don’t vape. If you cannot possibly control yourself enough to go outside, stay somewhere else.

Probably like smokers they’ve lost their sense of smell. And in denial about their addiction.

That is the natural aroma of the clientele. Besides, spoons people don’t vape. They smoke proper fags.

Of course you can't. Sometimes there's a fruity smell from the flavoured ones when you walk past someone vaping, but there are plenty of 'plain' vapes that are not flavoured at all and they're pretty undetectable. I vape in hotel rooms regularly and my husband who doesn't and has never smoked or vaped tells me it doesn't smell at all. He would certainly complain if it did.

I spoke to the engineer who was testing my mother in law's fire alarm recently and asked him how likely it is that a vape could set off a fire alarm. He said if you stand on a chair and blow straight into it then possibly. . . .

This. I vape but the person saying they don’t smell is a bit of an idiot. They DO! But the smell defo won’t be there for the next guest. Not even 20 mins later!

i don’t get the OP’s problem though. I share a hotel room with my friend who is a smoker, she just goes outside to smoke. And yes, she does wake up the night and goes downstairs to smoke, security lets her in and out.

I do vape in hotel rooms. The one I use doesn't really produce 'smoke' or 'steam' also its a fruit scent.
I was worried about setting off alarms but has never happened. Though for work I always stay in premier inn for work
I've also spoken to reception and as long as its not a plumely one it's fine. They also can't smell it when you check out. According to reception perfume smells worse.

as with others, you can vape in hotel rooms and it doesn’t leave a smell. It’s (lack of smell, acceptability indoors) sort of one of the points of vapes.

If you look at smokers areas outside hotels, they’re not crammed with people doing strawberry vapes are they? No, because they’re doing those inside

Someone I know said they once stood on the toilet under the extractor fan to vape in a hotel!
I suppose if needs must....
