Vaping and hotel rooms UK

morethanspice · 30/01/2026 16:01

I’m trying to organise an overnight stay in a hotel for a treat but my companion is a compulsive vaper.
Im not sure how to proceed as everywhere non smoking, will this be a deal breaker?

Vapes smell foul, but I’m almost certain the pong doesn’t linger and wouldn’t be a problem in a hotel room.

Seriously, you sound like such a plonker. Vapes do not stink. I know that, you tknow that. You just want to judge. Total Muppet.

They absolutely do stink.

crackadawn · 30/01/2026 20:25

I stay away a lot and always vape freely in hotel rooms.

Bombinia · 30/01/2026 20:26

Ugh, all these vile people vaping in hotel rooms. Please don't! It really does smell, and not nicely.

Diversion · 30/01/2026 20:27

Vape in the bathroom, door closed, shower running, they all have extractor fans otherwise send your friend outside to the smoking area.

MeAndMyGhost · 30/01/2026 20:28

Pollyanna87 · 30/01/2026 19:48

How glamorous

Well yes, not glamorous at all, but, you really couldn't detect it at all (no balcony).

I am not a smoker at all in any way - never have - but, I had to give her her kudos she could fly under the (smoke) radar.

fashionqueen0123 · 30/01/2026 20:31

Vapes smell awful.
Surely they can go outside? If they can’t they need addiction help

GoatBusted · 30/01/2026 20:32

WombatsInCombats · 30/01/2026 19:34

Don't be ridiculous. As if you would know if someone had vaped in a hotel room
Absolute muppet

Edited

You can smell them. It’s obvious and revolting.
Perhaps vaping has dulled your olfactory system?

You absolutely can smell when someone has been vaping.
an no, it’s not a pleasant smell.

And?? So what . The world isn't arranged so nothing ever upsets you

What do you mean by stink. Does it make you want to vomit? Does it make you pass out? Does it make you ill? No it doesn't. Jeeze , what drama

Are you always so aggressive and rude.

Jesus😂
you take vaping very seriously.
the world also isn’t arranged so everything pleases you.
Your desire to vape doesn’t trump other people’s desire not to have to smell it.

I don't wear perfume, and I certainly wouldn't spray anything highly scented in a hotel room, because it's inconsiderate.

This.

but absolutely shut the doors.

I worked in a Hilton pre vapes and lost count of the times we got an alarm for showers 😂 it wouldn’t set the whole hotel off though, must have been like a pre alarm thing.

Besides, I don’t understand how it can be a deal breaker. There are allocated smoking areas outside hotels most of the time, can’t they go there? I do.

Also I don’t know why people are getting all up about the smell of a vape, there’s plenty of other smells that are contained in a hotel room 😂

Yes it does! It stinks and is as bad as fag smoke!

Probably. I just get so pissed off with people OUTRAGED at nothing. Such drama about nothing. Vapes smell for a second perhaps.

DenizenOfAisleOfShame · 30/01/2026 20:50

Nobody could smell vape in a hotel room after someone’s checked out. It’s bollocks.

I don’t believe any of this nonsense about sensitivity to vape smell. If it were true the complainers would be gagging from whatever sprays and liquids the cleaning staff use.

I can tell if my partner has vaped during the day. I can smell it on him, and taste it when he kisses me hello.

Okey dokey. And what is the relevance of that in a thread titled “Vaping and hotel rooms UK”?

It’s relative because if you read your post, you suggested that sensitivity to vape smell is nonsense.
I’m using my example to show you that’s it’s not.

nowizewords · 30/01/2026 20:59

I always vape and never had any issues
