Anyone have any idea on processing time of First Passports at the moment? We sent our daughters application via check and send almost 2 weeks ago and no idea on when to expect it back. Hopefully someone can shed some light?!

Are you near Liverpool yummy? We're in the South West, so Durham is out of the question really, have you contacted your MP?

yummmymummy1 · 08/06/2014 20:45

Yes spoke to my my MP on Thursday still waiting to hear back shall be ringing tomorrow yes I'm in Manchester so it's possible I could go to liverpool

Chloeboe1 · 08/06/2014 20:52

Good luck yummy I'm working tomorrow but have husband on the case as lucky he has the day off. The most annoying thing of all to me, is that her passport can be here in time if they choose to process it!

Irishtown · 08/06/2014 20:57

The online application said to post to belfast so I will ring tomorrow to ensure they have them

madlene · 08/06/2014 21:16

Mine is a first adult passport since feb. No news still under examination. The pple at 0300 are nt helping they promised to get back to me for more than 5 times each 72hrs. I really need advice on wat to do.

Bluecarrot · 08/06/2014 21:33

I did priority for dd1s replacement for lost passport and dd2s first passport in Belfast. Appointment on Friday at 9am, received both the following Tuesday. If anyone in a hurry for theirs I'd advise asking if you can go through Belfast office.

yummmymummy1 · 08/06/2014 21:39

Yea the thing is though you can't be upgraded until it's at a certain point in the checking system and mines not even been looked at yet then I've still been waiting for Liverpool to call me back to upgrade for over a week I'm told they won't ring until it's basically gone through alll the checks and is eligible for upgrade and that's the how long is a peice of string golden question

Irishtown · 08/06/2014 22:27

Blue How long have you been waiting since posting?

jamtoast12 · 08/06/2014 22:39

Uk think blue said they'd done fast track one week...that what's usually referred to as priority.

jamtoast12 · 08/06/2014 22:39

Fast track from outset it would seem

BeyondBurma · 08/06/2014 23:06

It's awful awful awful - making me so anxious - I need to stop reading this thread really. Bloody hell Sad.

yummmymummy1 · 09/06/2014 07:10

Jam I really wish I had now :(

OwlCapone · 09/06/2014 07:13

What is so ridiculous is that some applications are coming back within their 3 week time frame. Why isn't the workload more evenly spread??

JammyGeorge · 09/06/2014 07:42

If I had any idea this was going on id of fast tracked from the start.

My eldest boys first child's passport was back in ten days year before last. This year I'm over 5 weeks in and it's still 'awaiting examination'.

I thought the days of waiting weeks and months for passports was over, obviously not. I've definitely learnt a lesson from this experience.

JammyGeorge · 09/06/2014 07:45

And yes it is annoying when you are sat next to someone at work who got 2 children's renewals back in 2 weeks!

I asked her where she thought they went and she said traditionally the forms from her area went to Liverpool so she presumes they went there for the quick turn around but doesn't know for sure.

indie123 · 09/06/2014 07:48

Jammy George. ..exactly the same situation over here. I'm currently waiting until 8am so i can call durham. I'm so stressed right now! This is a renewal passport I didn't in a million years think we'd make it to week 5-6 and still not know when passport will be here. First passport only took 7 days!! I think we all learned a lesson here

JammyGeorge · 09/06/2014 07:54

I'm sat killing time until 8 when Durham line opens.

They keep saying someone will call me but they never do, I'm losing hope and starting to get really stressed which I've been trying so hard not to.

And I've been in bed sick for the past 3 days which is not helping my mood.

yummmymummy1 · 09/06/2014 08:08

omg i could actually cry with joy!!! i have just received an EMAIL from liverpool and my passports are being printed and will be here within the next 48 hrs by DHX courier omg feeekkinnnnggg god i actually nearly peed a bit when i checked my inbox xxxxxxx

indie123 · 09/06/2014 08:09

Just spoke to someone. Only took a few mins for someone to answer and i spoke to a nice lady. She said they havent received letter for counter signer yet. I told her it was sent back on Thursday and she said most likely they will get it later today. I have requested an upgrade which she has put through for me. Fingers crossed...i will be back onto them tomorrow again!

Chloeboe1 · 09/06/2014 08:09

Hopefully some good news, just got off phone with Durham who said they had already sent my daughters app form down to upgrade on the 5th (when I spoke to them last) She explained that they're working to date of travel & I'll be contacted by upgraded department to take payment for fast track over the next couple days. Apparently from payment you'll have it in 24 hours, lets hope so!

yummmymummy1 · 09/06/2014 08:09

jammygeorge if its any consolation i am on the same timeline as you tomorrow will be 7 week since they received them

indie123 · 09/06/2014 08:09
