@MyGreyBiscuitMocks are after Feb half term here too! These are the final final mocks - full papers once they've finished the curriculum.

Nottingham interview this morning. Thinks it went quite well and far better than Leeds

Glad to hear that the interviews at HYMS and Nottingham were better.

I had a sad DD yesterday who is worrying that she isn’t good at interviews and ‘comes across as weird’. It’s so hard supporting them in this as I have no experience of the process and just wish I could make it all ok.

Oh, your poor daughter… such a tough process and very hard to take the rejections. I’m sure she knows she’s is in good company… but v hard when your confidence gets knocked all the same. And hard for us parents too!

Interviews are such an artificial environment, I always felt like I was pretending to be someone else. All the best for her other options!

aw I'm sorry your daughter feels this way. Interviewing is difficult for anyone, even us grown ups. I think feeling slightly anxious about it shows you care about the outcome (ie, wanting to do well...). It's not a bad thing.

She most definitely is not weird. Chances are she will have alot more in common with all the other candidates than she thinks. Perhaps taking a break from it all can help...? we are going bowling tonight!

Thanks everyone. She’s busy working today but has plans with friends
to do an Escape room tomorrow which I think will be a good diversion from the interview stress. She has Sheffield on Monday and then there’s a bit of a break before Birmingham.

thanks @PurryGrowls ! he does seem quite chilled. I won't be calm till I get on the train to Sheffield! Many years of commuting makes me rather nervy!!!

We still have a week until DDs next interview so she is enjoying a gap between that and mocks, she has got a couple of results back today earlier than expected and despite her bumpy revision period she has done very well.

DD had her Exeter interview this week (first one!) and it was very fast paced. She is happy-ish with it, apart from the first station, where she didn't manage to answer all questions. Content wise-nothing surprising or difficult.

That’s the Dundee interview done, that was the last one. Now the waiting.

Thanks @bluefineliner , @inae and others for well wishes! It went well I think - maybe role player wasn’t as smooth but fingers crossed he did well enough for an offer. We are now waiting for our train back down south…and to Southampton!

DD had her Newcastle interview today, she felt it went well. Her friend had an interview at Northumbria so they had a nice day out together.

My son did not enjoy the Imperial interview and came out gloomy. Southampton today which I think is a very different format but he's lost a bit of confidence now

@MyGreyBiscuit great feedback on Sheffield, fingers crossed for your DS. Also good luck at Southampton today hope the journey down was ok.

@Curlyshabtree glad your DD found NCL good, my DD liked it too, the interviewers were friendly apparently. It will be interesting to see how the different styles of interview convert in to offers over the coming weeks. DD has already decided Leeds is a no but holding out hope for NCL 😂.

@everydirection I hope your DS can focus on Southampton and put Imperial behind him. I am sure these 'bad' interviews are never as awful as they seem when analysing afterwards.

DD's mocks are over so back to school for now, at least her final 2 interviews are only a week apart so this stage will be over within 2 weeks! She got a couple of marks back for one psych and one bio paper already for mocks and they were both A and above. As these were done in amongst interviews and hospital visits it is a good result and has shown DD she does have a good basic knowledge underlying even without revision.

Sorry to hear that @everydirection … I hope it didn’t go as badly as your child thought. Maybe our children will be in the same session today at Southampton!?!?
