A level results day 2024

How’s everyone else feeling about results day? I’ve got one at uni already and 2nd dd hoping to go to Kent in September. She seems ok about it at the moment although think that will change as it gets closer. Me I’m so keeping my fingers crossed she gets what she wants, I know there will always be other options but she loved the open day. Going to struggle with this one going though as it has been a real journey to get to where she is.

Nearly time - DS is waiting to see UCAS offer before going to school. Hope the system holds steady.

DD got into Kent. Woohoo!!!

Bloody hell - so stressed! Dd determined she has flunked with no other options!

DD has got in to her firm of Exeter! Now to go to college for results.

DD is crying.
Happy tears.

She's been accepted by her first choice university :)

now off to find out her actual results.

I think I can hear movement from DS. Come on child - the suspense is killing me!

DS has his first choice too. Off to school now! (They aren't open until 8.30)...

DS took 2 A levels. In theory he needs 2Bs to get into uni/course of his choice.This is unlikely due to lack of revision.

DS promises he'll text as soon as he can 😬...then he's off out for the day & evening.
He'd better, I've drunk so much coffee already and can't settle to anything I'm supposed to be doing for more than 5 minutes at a time. Knowing him, he'll get a 'bit distracted' and forget for a while (a good few hours!) 😫

DD got her first choice. She set off for school at 7:55 as she wanted to be on her own when she checked. She called us and we’re waiting to see her grades next.

I’ve just got my kid up- and we realise that we don’t know how the results will come. We have moved so not close to the college any more!

Dd got in, I’m basket case having barely slept a wink and she is fairly non plussed. (But very relieved). Hope everyone else is doing as well x

This. It can all work out. My son didn't get his first choice, got a good back up option and met his lovely girlfriend there and they've just bought their first place together.

But you have to be quick.

Also even if they don't get in at all it can work out. I know a lovely guy who failed, re-took and ended up getting a first in his degree and is now also living with a lovely girlfriend.

Accepted at his firm uni, happy is an understatement. He’d changed his course so only had 1 offer but high grades, properly expected to be in clearing today.
