How’s everyone else feeling about results day? I’ve got one at uni already and 2nd dd hoping to go to Kent in September. She seems ok about it at the moment although think that will change as it gets closer. Me I’m so keeping my fingers crossed she gets what she wants, I know there will always be other options but she loved the open day. Going to struggle with this one going though as it has been a real journey to get to where she is.

Where are people finding the required grades for clearing? I can see it for a few unis but not most Russel Group. In particular has anyone seen clearing courses and grades for York or Exeter?

Headingto18 · 15/08/2024 07:32

@SuccessM they have put them on the website this morning - 251 for an A*

MegsNaiceJam · 15/08/2024 07:33

Hurry up time!

Good luck everyone!

Headingto18 · 15/08/2024 07:34

@CrikeyDozes we have found the univ’s landing page are best - some are out up yet incl Exeter

redskydarknight · 15/08/2024 07:36

Good luck to everyone today.
DD ended up going to the cinema and then out with friends last night so hopefully she managed to successfully distract herself.
No sign of her this morning so far. We're in the "have to go to school to get results brigade" so she does need to get up!

DayOfWreckoning · 15/08/2024 07:36

Good luck to applicants and suffering parents. DD emerged at 7am (approx 4 hours earlier than normal) looking quite rough but hasn't vomited yet (daily occurrence during exams). Needs AAA but her insurance course is in clearing; do hope she gets into her firm though as I think it will suit her better. I feel a bit sick myself which is ridiculous. She will be fine!!!

SuccessM · 15/08/2024 07:37

@Headingto18 Thanks a lot for your quick response. She needs 2 A star and one A to meet her Offer including Further Maths and Economics. I will check to see what Further maths is. Thanks once again.

There is another thread going with the links - if you read down someone posted York as a link - Good Luck !

SuccessM · 15/08/2024 07:40

251 for A star in maths is very high! . May God help the children to cross over.

Justkeepsmilingx · 15/08/2024 07:40

Good Luck everyone…….waiting here for DD - she worked so hard so hope she feels pleased with what she comes out with !

Tulipvase · 15/08/2024 07:42

Mines just left to go to school for results.

Iusedtobeapenguin · 15/08/2024 07:42

Good luck everyone!

Here you go @CrikeyDozes

Delphigirl · 15/08/2024 07:43

Aurgh DD has gone off to school to pick up her results alone, so I can only wait until she returns! Torture!

MirandaWest · 15/08/2024 07:44

surprisingly I slept until 6. Have been out for a run. DD asked me to poke her just before 8 so she can try and log into ucas

stoneysongs · 15/08/2024 07:44

@CrikeyDozes

Exeter don't publish their clearing places until 8am, annoyingly

Lots available at York though

SuccessM · 15/08/2024 07:45

@CrikeyDozes This is York clearing page and it has the grades requirements. www.york.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/clearing/vacancies/

DS is still in bed. Meanwhile I’ve been awake since 5am. I don’t remember being this nervous when DD got her results 2 years ago. But DH says I was, so perhaps I’ve just blocked it out!

catmomof3 · 15/08/2024 07:52

I feel more nervous and sick about this than when I started my cancer treatment back in May. DD is also still asleep in bed, she has till 10:30 to collect her results at school but I was hoping she'd be awake by now with less than 10 mins till UCAS opens lol.

CrikeyDozes · 15/08/2024 07:53

Thanks all but nothing comes up for any subject area when I click on the York clearing. Maybe they just have no clearing places in the areas I’m clicking on. Has anyone seen any politics, IR or history places on that site?

Barnabyted · 15/08/2024 07:54

We have been up for hours as we are 2 hours ahead of the UK. His results come through via the internet.
My son is looking very anxious. Fingers crossed that he gates the grades to study chemical engineering.

CrikeyDozes · 15/08/2024 07:54

Sorry ignore me. Got York working but no courses in DD’s area are available

If you look at the long list (i.e. don't filter) you can see that Politics and IR are only in clearing for International students.

My daughter's subject is in clearing at York, but with the "normal" offer grades i.e. they have not lowered them

No politics or history places, there's IR but only for international students, unfortunately.
