Adding new thread as other full up!
For Bath query: Deadline is 1 July for guaranteed first year. It says on the website that it's randomly allocated according to stated preference and course status (don't know what that means). There's a lot of preferences! Not just catered/self catered and the building, but quiet/single sex/LGBTQ/additional requirements/even those with assistance animals!
It really wouldn't be fair to do it first come first serve unless they had all the offers out first (which they don't as we are still waiting).

We've firmed Leeds and insurance Loughborough for MNatSci. She was offered Durham, Nott and Lancaster but I think she’s made the right choice (even if I did want her to choose the closer ones 😭).

I want her to sort the housing out but she's a wait until the deadline type person and it's stressing me out. I'm self employed so I think I need to wait until I've done my tax return next week to do student finance.

LadyVioletCrawley · 01/04/2024 13:40

DS rejected from Edinburgh and offer from St Andrews.

Edited

If you’re self employed they will ask for details from your tax return from 22/23 since the 23/24 tax return is not due until Jan25. As long as you have your details from the return you made in Jan 24 that should be sufficient.

daffodilandtulip · 01/04/2024 14:07

@Angrymum22 ohhhh that's good to know! Thank you ☺️

ShanghaiDiva · 01/04/2024 15:32

@daffodilandtulip my dd has applied for the same course. She has firmed bath with Exeter as insurance.

Wronginformation · 02/04/2024 10:13

DD also firmed NS Bath🙂

DS rejected from Edinburgh and offer from St Andrews.

Congrats on the St Andrews offer, was it his first choice?

MirandaWest · 02/04/2024 10:27

DD still waiting for Edinburgh to make a decision. Wish they’d get on with it!

LadyVioletCrawley · 02/04/2024 11:03

@Averywavery was always St Andrews ahead of Edinburgh so he’s not too disappointed.

Ah it is so painful waiting isn't it?

Thanks for the new thread. DD still waiting for Warwick, after which she will be choosing firm and insurance from UCL, Birmingham and Warwick if they ever make a decision! Waiting nearly six months now 🤨
Haven't got round to finance yet.

Did you ever hear from Warwick? DD didn't hear. She had a UCAS message saying that because she hadn't heard, she didn't get a place.

Was that your DDs experience too?

stoneysongs · 02/04/2024 12:41

@Greatbritish
No, she hasn't heard from either Warwick or UCAS, still waiting. Last year they gave out offers for her course on 28 March so I guess it does tend to be quite late.

MerchSwyddEfrog · 02/04/2024 13:30

My ds is still waiting for UCL but I’m loosing hope now. It would be nice to get all offers in even though he’s said he no longer wants to go to London. I think he’s going to go with Leeds for MNatSci but he’s not committing yet. I have suggested he goes and looks around Bath again as we are fairly close and the course is so good there. He did love Leeds though and as we have family in Yorkshire he will have a safety net!

mondaytosunday · 02/04/2024 15:52

@Greatbritish why is that? They have til mid May to make offers don't they? We are still waiting to hear from two.

That’s good to hear. Hope he has an amazing time at St Andrew’s.

DD has got over her post-offer holder wobble and has firmed Edinburgh with Exeter as insurance. Now deciding what accommodation to apply for. All starting to seem very real!

That’s really rubbish. They could at least give them the curtesy of a proper refusal. We’re still waiting on Edinburgh and now I’m worried DD won’t even get a refusal, just be ignored.

Turquoisesea · 05/04/2024 15:21

We are still waiting for Warwick, I’m not sure whether DS should email admissions just to check it’s still in progress. I will be so annoyed if they don’t respond before 16th May with a decision either way. I don’t think it looks hopeful now for DS but I wish they would just reject him. He’s got grades in hand and the accommodation on his 2nd choice has already opened and I’m worried there will be nothing left but as DS prefers the course at Warwick he won’t withdraw. This is so stressful!

singingstones · 05/04/2024 15:38

We are in the same boat @Turquoisesea
I floated the idea of withdrawing from Warwick last night but DD really wants them in the mix before she decides.

Turquoisesea · 05/04/2024 19:04

@singingstones sorry to hear that you are in the same situation. I just wish they would get a move on. I’m not sure my nerves can take another 6 weeks of holding on for a decision!

DoctorMartin · 09/04/2024 07:33

Finally an offer from Bath for Economics last night! Hang in there everyone Smile

Congratulations! Out of sheer nosiness what was the offer? DS has an econ offer but we are in Scotland. They’ve offered AA (one in maths). That is apparently = to A* in tariff points.

DoctorMartin · 09/04/2024 08:14

@Pantsnomore our situation is a little different as dc does a sport at elite level and would join the Uni programme so the offer is contextual - AAB.

We realise they are extremely fortunate to get such an offer but they do train 20 hours a week on top of school so it does have an impact on studies.

Gosh what an enormous commitment. Well done.

TenSheds · 09/04/2024 18:57

Edinburgh offer finally in for 5/5, what a relief. Same grades as Oxford, but no specific subject requirement, so allows for one grade to slip. Likely to pip Exeter for insurance place, which has an amazing course but DD's heart is really elsewhere. If all goes really wrong, there's a fair chance something might come up in clearing, but hopefully won't come to that.
Wish Edinburgh had replied sooner to have spared us a now wasted trip to Exeter but can't be helped.
