Yes I am nervous about today's one as about 95% of the others are doing the subject at A level and DD isn't. DD optimistically said this could work in her favour as her answers would be original 😎

Love your dd's attitude @Silkiefloof - she seems so positive and confident. I think she might be right too - they probably like someone with a different angle.

Thank you to all who replied to my question yesterday about whether to chase or not. I managed to persuade my daughter to email if she had not heard by the end of today, but in the event there was no need, as she heard today her other interview will also be on Monday.

I'm really not sure how it works - seems like it is standard for her course to have two interviews at different colleges - I'm fumbling my way through this process tbh. I kind of assumed it was maybe as the tutors for her course are spread out and that it would therefore be a joint decision, rather than two discrete opportunities.

DD has her in person interview this afternoon. We shall be aiming to be in Cambridge for around midday and have a nice leisurely lunch before she heads off to the college. Think I’ll try and do a bit of Xmas shopping while i wait.

I had the exact same plan. How did yours go? The shopping didn’t happen for me. Couldn’t bring myself to move from the college bar which was made available to family and friends. What if my child needed me - ridiculous, I know.

@mummylife123 thank you. Yes, beginners Italian and Spanish at O and Italian + Spanish at St Andrews (both with a year abroad)

I would have done that if we were allowed to but companions weren’t permitted to set foot in the college grounds! I just had a look round John Lewis and she was done in 40 mins and wanted me to go and collect her straight away so didn’t have time for anything else.

How was the college bar? 😂

Interview 2 now done. Apparently rather harder than yesterday, but DD again seems okay with how it went.

All physics applicants are interviewed by a second college, so she still has one more, Wednesday next week.

It’s past 2pm now which is the time when DD wojkd have found out if she had a second college interview next week so looks like she’s done 😊

Looks like I spoke too soon...2nd college interview for MFL on Monday. This one was very short, so not surprised if they want a second opinion, but DD is a bit anxious nonetheless. Lots going on this weekend to distract her for a bit, and time to prep (again) on Sunday.

Gosh that's not much notice Ten though DDs looks like could be 24 hours notice of 2 more if a second college want to interview. Hope your DD isn't too stressed, it must mean she has a reasonable chance of an offer. We hear by 10am Monday.

Exactly the same here! At 2pm we both took a collective sigh of relief 😅 She's exhausted! And needs to start revising for mocks after Christmas (which start on the 9th Jan..... helpfully😩) With Oxford, we are of the opinion that que será será (she is doing spanish after all😂) .

DS offered a second college interview (for Chemistry) but he seems to have interpreted this as he’s borderline / not good enough for his original college. Is this true?

@HeartstringsLily - don't worry. DS1 was interviewed at college number 1 for Chemistry and sent to college number 2 for another interview. He was offered a place at no 1.

DS has 4 interviews in one day now with two Oxford colleges because of our internet provider deciding to do works in the area

Its affecting lots of others doing interviews actually on various days

2 interviews done..was asked about their PS which was a surprise. Glad it's over and I can now focus on Christmas.

DD has not heard anything about a second interview yet but could hear up until 10am Mon and will be on Tues and Wed if there is.
