@Rzim BMAT results are just out this morning so think it will be some time next week before medicine applicants hear back. DD not convinced her result is enough for an interview but she’s done everything she can, so just need to wait and see

@Sybill - don't lose hope over the BMAT result. DD was in despair and there were a lot of tears. But she got an Oxford interview, a place and achieved an Exhibition in her Year 1 exams. She's a happy 2nd year now.

Oh that’s fantastic @HoneyMobster well done to your DD, that’s an incredible achievement. And most importantly, she’s happy - good for her!
Thankfully, DD has already heard back from her 3 UCAT uni with interview offers so prepping for them is keeping her busy enough, so she’s mentally parking the uncertainty over an Oxford interview for now! She really just wanted to do well and she did (her weighted score according to Oxford website is 63% so not too shabby!)

Does anyone have any knowledge of medicine at Cambridge. Is a good BMAT score used to offer interviews or is it used to decide offers as well?

@losingtheplot999 a friend of my DD got a Cambridge interview invite yesterday so I assume they don’t use BMAT at all for shortlisting, just for offer? Or maybe it’s college-specific?

We also have an interview here for E&M at Oxford through this morning, no date yet but they all all next week and at college she applied to. I also cried as we have been through so much and 18% offer rate of interviews.

Congratulations to all of those with interviews - some amazing success stories @Silkiefloof and @lifeturnsonadime. Wishing all of the dc every success.

Ds still hasn't heard anything and hope is fading now as his subject interviews start on 4/12 and it's been a few days since others received interview offers for the same subject. He is being quite stoical but it's hard when all of your friends have got through to that stage. UCAS track updated last night and it was another uni offer so that takes the edge off a bit.

Sorry your DS has not heard yet Lightsabre they can come as little as 24 hours in advance so hopefully will still arrive. DDs letter says second colleges may be only 24 hours in advance if that happens and her application is with all colleges, that's O and I am still only half awake due to Floof who woke me up at 12.30, 1.30, 5.45, 6am for games and then food! He's hyper as it's nearly Christmas and also we had a Thanksgiving turkey dinner, DS ate all his so that was good.

@losingtheplot999 - the chance of a Cambridge Medicine interview is much higher than for an Oxford one. I think you can get interviewed at Cambridge with a fairly average BMAT score.

@Lightsabre lets stay hopeful. It probably depends on the college. My DC applied to the same subject and I did not see many invites for her college. Perhaps no news is good news ), so far.

It's for English! She has two interviews on the same day at the same college so assuming it's with both the tutors there which is interesting.
