DD has her English online assessment this morning and then her mock interview at a local independent school this evening. She’s quite nervous. 🥺

@Rollergirl11 hope all goes well for DD. I'm in awe of the young people taking on these challenges. They are all successful for aiming high and putting themselves through the process.

Mine has her Turing scheme interview tomorrow (to do with her current course), Cambridge mock interview Friday, HSPS assessment Monday... she's a bundle of nerves.

It's so tricky to hold lightly to the dream when the process is so involved and demanding! I am hoping at the end of things all our young people can feel like they gave it their best shot however things turn out.

Good luck to your dd @Rollergirl11! Best of luck as well to all those with interview offers. Ds expecting to hear by the end of this week whether he has an interview or not. One of his friends has a Nat Sci interview at C, another waiting for Classics at O.

@Lightsabre We are waiting to hear about Classics at C …. Poor DC is torn between prepping for a possible interview and assessment or accepting it’s unlikely this late in Nov and focusing on prelims instead. I’m just useless apart from the occasional hug and saying I love you.

@ThirdTimeBuyer I think I’d deffo assume an interview will be coming and start preparing- C interview a v high majority of applicants. Also overall acceptance rates are very high for classics so (43% in 2022) so can’t imagine they’d want to lose many pre-interview. Good luck!!

ThirdTimeBuyer almost all Classics applicants are interviewed at both Oxford and Cambridge, so the chances of not getting an interview are very low.

After that, beware the apparently encouraging acceptance stats: the quality of applicant for Classics tends to be particularly high.

My DS is waiting to hear about an interview for Engineering at C, the college said interview invitations would come out this week. Waiting is hard …

@SOWK do you know if the college will do online interviews or in person? I think in person are getting earlier interviews due to travel

I think I said on an earlier thread, but my DS is in his second year of studying engineering at C. He said the only thing that slightly threw him in his interview was that there was no smalltalk - they just went straight in with maths/interview questions.

A friend's DD got an interview for chemistry at O today too...am waiting to hear if my godson has an interview for Maths at C...fingers crossed for all still waiting!

Nerves getting to me too. My YP is taking a gap year and has applied to Jesus for NatSci. I can see some colleges are giving interviews for that and Jesus is giving interviews for other subjects! This site is very useful as I don’t want to ask them too many questions and made it a big deal. They’ve been very independent in the whole application so I hope they completed all they have to!

Well done @HeartstringsLily, ds is still waiting so I fear it may be the end of the road for him. I've heard of lots of Chem interview invites today. Still, it's not over until it's over as they say.
