Part 4 - A friendly supportive thread for those with DC applying to Oxbridge, its an arduous process to say the least. I suspect we will need some handholding and alcohol for the couple of weeks ahead as our dc have their interviews. For those still waiting to hear I hope news comes soon Flowers

DD1 got her offer in an email just after 9am, way back in 2019. I don’t think she even looked at UCAS? Maybe it’s different now, in covid times.

Like many others, DD2 will be in an exam at that time, although she will check her email and UCAS before going in. She (and I) can’t imagine not checking.

Good luck all!

Ha! DD has a mock from 8.30 to 10.30 and is adamant she won't check beforehand. We'll see...

SandyBayley · 10/01/2022 18:56

@TangoWhiskyAlphaTango - what a star you are 😊

Piggywaspushed · 10/01/2022 18:57

Those Oxford maths stats are interesting on gender.

goodbyestranger · 10/01/2022 18:58

All my most recent DC (from 2014 onwards) have had emails from Oxford between 9am and 10am (before that the DC were sent letters).

JulesJules · 10/01/2022 19:16

UCAS has updated quite early in previous years. When D1 heard, (2020 entry) she got an email from her college offering her a place first thing (before 9am) and then track updated. One of the colleges (St Peters?) sent emails out very early, not long after midnight. We thought this was a mistake, but iirc they did the same last year too.

Best of luck to everyone waiting to hear. I'll be thinking of you all tomorrow.

Thisisconfusing · 10/01/2022 19:16

Thank you . And yes I agree about that candidate .

DahliaMacNamara · 10/01/2022 19:21

Feeling for all the Oxford gang tonight. Last year, I think DD's offer arrived by about 9:30. Lessons were all online, and mocks were a bundle of exam papers sent through the post, so at least we didn't have that extra element of suspense waiting for her to come out of an exam.
Hope everything works out for the best for all your DC.

goodbyestranger · 10/01/2022 19:34

Just to mix it up a bit: one of my DC was phoned by the tutor with an offer. No email or UCAS update until later.

NDVR · 10/01/2022 21:27

Thinking of you all tomorrow! It's so horrible and nerve-wracking

SirVixofVixHall · 10/01/2022 22:21

Good luck to all the dc waiting and worrying tonight.

heinztomatosoup · 11/01/2022 07:35

Thinking of all waiting for news today and sending positive thoughts. Although we have 2 more weeks to wait and are prepared for a rejection, it's the not knowing that is so hard, so at least that will be over for O, whatever the outcome. Good luck!

ladygrinningsoul · 11/01/2022 08:29

Thinking of everyone who hears today, hope it's good news
