Apparently he'll hear Weds evening then (if he gets an offer) has until Friday at noon to make a decision. Of course we don't know how many places are available or whether they are for physical or biological streams so he may well not be offered anything but was happy to throw his hat in the ring again without setting much store by it!

Can we keep a track of where all our DC are going! By the way any fellow Durham peeps - DS/DH has no idea this group exists and I would like to keep it that way. But if we have the pleasure of meeting we can have "met"'on mumsnet - just not as a commiseration group for Oxbridge 🙈

At first things felt a bit anticlimactic but now I feel all emo. The reality is sinking in that they’re off.

I know what you mean @Tenpastseven And what I wasn’t expecting was for dds 1 and 2 to be leaving home at the same time (my oldest dd is studying in London but wants to share a flat with friends to be closer to college). Come September I’ll just have dd3 (14) at home.

Just back from our "champagne breakfast" at school. So weird to all be in with parents, and sitting and chatting. Nice to have a final hooray for all the girls though.

Everyone seemed very happy, which is lovely.

Colin the Caterpillar cake bought (Waitrose equivalent), because it is tradition, and lunch booked in town, where we will meet back up with DD and her BF.

@chopc it’s Bristol for ds for Modern Languages.

I just love you guys. We started here together possibly feeling hurt and upset but just look at us now! So bloody proud of all of us (and our kids, obvs).
It’s days like today that I really miss my mum but having you guys really helps.

Completely agree @Stillcrikey I don't know what I would have done without you lot for support in those bleak winter days. What is your ds' first choice of accommodation at Bristol? Think they hear next week? Dd put down Clifton Hill House first, then Wills.

@BigWoollyJumpers how lovely of your school to do that! I might follow your lead on the Colin cake (do Sainsbury's do a version?). Going to get dd flowers too and we're out for dinner tonight.

@bendmeoverbackwards I do t really k ow what his first accommodation choice is but I think he’s out mainly Stoke Bishop (due to proximity to rugby pitches). Although I’ve just checked dyne Bristol accommodation pages and they’re saying students might not even get any of the ones they’ve requested due to high numbers. They do guarantee something though.

If we need a new thread, can I suggest a title? ‘Another Path - but now we have a map’ ??
