Muat ask my two their marks out of 10...

@blametheparents, hoping your DS is feeling better soon.

DS's room is a complete tip - I am beginning to lose patience! He did spend a few days doing an essay but still - GRRRR.

And having said that my DC are generally very well, DD has come down with a horrid cold with a sinus headache and a chesty cough. No doubt she will be fighting fit on Christmas Day but will the rest of us....

Dd still not well but on antibiotics so fingers crossed will soon be well. Little Dd managed to scrape herself into school for a practical gcse exam and then back to bed. I am now back from hospital after a year waiting for an op. I am on the trail end of a nice dose of morphine so I am very fine and dandy!

ZandathePanda · 20/12/2019 14:56

P.s. that possibly sounds like I have been a year in hospital. I haven’t. Just a minor op but on a waiting list. I will now sleep off the drugs and maybe make more later!

ZandathePanda · 20/12/2019 14:56

Make more sense later...Grin

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 20/12/2019 14:58

@ZandathePanda hoping your DDs feel better soon. And clearly the morphine is working Wink - hoping you'll be feeling tiptop for Christmas.

Oh ... here you all are .. phew. Thought I'd lost you in my house move ! DS home ... laundry gone manic.. protein shakers encrusted and in bedroom floor !!! But it's nice having him home .. just signed my life away as guarantor for next year house this morning !
Happy Christmas All 🥳🥳

Ginfordinner · 20/12/2019 16:08

I hope everyone is well in time for Christmas Zanda

Alicatz66 · 20/12/2019 16:12

@MrKlaw .. my DS flat all cooked a big Christmas dinner the night before they all went home too.... made me happy also !!

Benjispruce · 20/12/2019 16:52

@simbobs DD is the same, rarely I’ll. Never gets more than a sniffle once a year. Her main complaint is a yearly bout of hay fever. This cold is nasty. Swollen throat(no spots,) painful ears today, glands up, cough etc. I agree it’s new germs and late nights. She’s a veggie and eats quite healthily given the choice.
I’ve just broken upGrin and she’s gone to work so it’s not stopping her. Picked up her A Level certificates after work so hopefully that’ll give her a boost.

Benjispruce · 20/12/2019 16:54

Oh and her laundry? 3 pairs of knickers and a hoodie.

ZandathePanda · 20/12/2019 19:47

Well I slept off the last meds. Apologies for latter rambles! Thank you for the get well messages - I don’t think we’ve all been so ill since they were wee ones. I will be fine in a couple of days - Amazon has been my friend this year!
Dd is getting firsts/2:1s and an impressive amount of constructive feedback from all her essays that have been returned electronically in the last few days. Very pleased.

simbobs · 20/12/2019 23:14

Get well soon, Zanda. My DD has come home having done all her washing. Thankfully...

BringOnTheScience · 21/12/2019 09:15

DC1 has got over the "It's really odd being back here" phase and is happily back into the routine. Working unholy hours at the supermarket (4am start!), and group chatting the uni friends. They are clearly very happy at uni.

I'm going to take a break from MN for a bit because the general trans-exclusionary atmosphere bothers me, but this thread is where I'm most likely to dip back in to see how everyone's getting on.

Wishing the best for all of you & your students.

Benjispruce · 21/12/2019 09:35

I know what you mean @bringonthescience as DD has been back a week now and has adjusted much more. She’s really suffered with this cold though and was crying in the night with ear pain. The throat and cough are receding and now this. She was very grateful for her mum and a warm hot water bottle at 4 am. She won’t hear of taking a day off work though. She hadn’t been ill for so long and is saying all she wants for Christmas is to be well. A Christmas miracle of gratitude at last! Xmas Wink

Decorhate · 21/12/2019 09:46

Back to being woken up when kids come in late after work or being out. But don’t mind too much - a year ago shy ds hardly went out, last night he even had a friend back

Ginfordinner · 21/12/2019 10:49

She’s really suffered with this cold though and was crying in the night with ear pain.

DD had this in October and ended up on two lots of antibiotics. Earache is horrible. I hope she feels better soon Flowers

Benjispruce · 21/12/2019 10:52

Thanks @Ginfordinner she’s still asleep and has work at 1.30! The pain eased after a dose of Sudafed and hot water bottle. Ear looks normal inside in my non qualified/mummy opinion and no fever. Will see how it is today and perhaps get pharmacist’s opinion.

Whatagoodidea · 21/12/2019 11:09

I'm still waiting for DS1, he's packing and making his way to Heathrow so back to us tomorrow morning. Than I predict a few hours of peace and quiet before he and DS2 (been home for a week now ) are wrestling and something is damaged or broken Xmas Hmm and I will be Wine

simbobs · 21/12/2019 12:16

Mine are now both home, but still haven't seen one another! DD got back yesterday when DS was already out. He got back in the small hours with gf in tow, and hasn't even had breakfast.

I have managed to get most of his washing done but observed that he seemed to have left his bottom sheet behind. The response, "I had a nosebleed so I binned it". 🙄

I am happy to have them both home, though.

Serin · 21/12/2019 15:02

Mine is home tomorrow.
Cant wait.
I have bought up all the bacon in our Asda Wink

bigTillyMint · 21/12/2019 16:52

@Decorhate, same here. At least the earplugs help!

@Serin, I have been berated because I forgot bacon Grin

DrMadelineMaxwell · 22/12/2019 09:47

No berating here.... dd was just so impressed at the site of a full, big fridge and a pantry of shelves full of packets and tins compared to her tiny cupboard and one fridge shelf.

Whatagoodidea · 22/12/2019 10:37

DS1 back, fam complete, happy Christmas everyone

simbobs · 22/12/2019 11:13

Speaking of full fridge DS seldom home at dinner time, and always asks me to leave him a portion, then stays over with gf, so fridge now full of single portions of meals already consumed by us, and which may not get eaten at all by him. Sigh...
