Tomorrow is results day, at last!

Ds is like cat on a hot tin roof,he can't settle at all.

How is everyone else doing?

Roll on tomorrowSmile

Full on avoidance here Grin

BlueCowWonders · 14/08/2019 14:58

Can’t talk about tomorrow but we’re all over the place skirting around it

Tensixtysix · 14/08/2019 15:00

DD has her AS level results to collect tomorrow. Only then will she find out if she can carry on with her second year doing A levels at college and we might even get a timetable.
She's quite calm about it. But it's annoying that she has at least a 3 hour round trip to get a piece of paper!
...No, she's not going to wait for it to be posted.

scarecrowhead · 14/08/2019 15:01

Nervous - and it's also his 18th birthday !

hanahsaunt · 14/08/2019 15:05

Tense ... doors are being slammed ... everyone is doing everything wrong including breathing! Full-on catastrophising ... wonder how long I can stay at work!

LoafofSellotape · 14/08/2019 15:05

scarecrowhead oh no!Grin

I bought ingredients for a cake I always make for special occasions and ds asked if I could make it today so it isn't a 'pity cake' (his words) if he doesn't get his first choice. He's putting so much pressure on himself Sad

He's tucking into said cake as I type Grin

We've had that all summer, totally out of character tbh, although he is a bit fiery this has been full on.

I would stay at work if I were youWink

Ha! A pity cake sounds marvellous! He was fine whilst busy - just the lovely things have come to an end and the last week he's had nothing else to think about. Doesn't help that cousins got results last week (Scotland) and did exceptionally well - just adds to (self-inflicted) pressure.

Megan2018 · 14/08/2019 15:14

From the other side of the fence as someone working in HE and currently prepping for Clearing - it is all fine, it all will be fine. We repeat this on repeat until we believe it......

In all seriousness - if you want a year where your DC can fuck up this is it - decline in birth rate means Universities falling over themselves to get places filled. Very few HEIs expect to hit target. Tariffs will be dropping to get bums on seats. All will be well.

Good luck!

LoafofSellotape · 14/08/2019 15:24

I just said to ds that he could have a gap year if he wants and take stock and he gave me a withering look and said "I just CAN'T live here a moment longer"

I don't think that ds is appreciating the responses I have been sending through to his most recent text which read WHAT AM I GOING TO DO WITH MY LIFE. He's 2 all over again ...

Propertyfaux · 14/08/2019 16:00

Just replied on other thread, things are much calmer after reading Edexcel leaked grade boundaries. He is feeling much more confident with maths.

Peridot1 · 14/08/2019 16:00

DS is not stressed apparently. I am!

He is taking a gap year so hasn’t applied to uni so no place to lose at this stage.

He is not planning to wake up until 9 tomorrow. Think I will have no fingers left by then let alone nails!

munemema · 14/08/2019 16:05

Ridiculously complacent. He doesn't need particuarly high grades for what he wants but even so.

Mind you, he was very relaxed about his driving test this morning too and he passed that!

bengalcat · 14/08/2019 16:08

Can’t wait - should have results before I leave for work I think . Kid looking forward to it all being over so she can make plans re accommodation etc .

whereshalligo · 14/08/2019 16:13

Pretty relaxed ds here, although I'm pretty annoyed as he could access his college results online at 6.30 but can't remember his password. So it's track and then the old fashioned envelope for Ds. He's having a gap year having deferred but needs to meet his conditions tomorrow.

pumpkinpie01 · 14/08/2019 16:13

I have been told not to mention it , she has an unconditional offer so no pressure I suppose!

pumpkinpie01 · 14/08/2019 16:43

Has everyone had their student finance entitlement letter or are they not sent out until after results day and places are confirmed ? We applied months ago.

PandorasWhiskers · 14/08/2019 17:13

Need AAB n he’s not sure if he got that. Maths FM n physics It’s like Christmas here but with no Santa Claus (anticipation with the possibility of true disappointment)

I think I might have to crack open the Christmas Eve G&T to make it through though his course is on clearing so fingers n toes crossed.

I wish he’d take a year out though n travel so there are up sides if he doesn’t get the grades he needs

pasanda · 14/08/2019 18:01

Ds is so laid back. He's currently asleep!
Probably because he's taking a gap year and if he doesn't get his firm or insurance has said he'll just reapply!

Easy as........ (apparently!)

pasanda · 14/08/2019 18:02

I REALLY want to go with him tmrw tho but he's not so keen. The suspense is killing me!

scarecrowhead · 14/08/2019 18:09

Mine needs AAB but his first choice uni has just published their clearing list and they're asking BBB for his course.

Purplepooch · 14/08/2019 18:17

I am very nervous for tomorrow. DS seems calm but inpatient now to know. He is very invested in his firm, and less so with other options which makes me very concerned.

LIZS · 14/08/2019 18:25

Dd rather quiet today, I've resorted to cleaning and chocolate!

unitednations · 14/08/2019 18:41

Me and DH are tense.

DS is just 'hangry' and needs feeding and avoiding !
