DS has had an awful summer.
He had an accident in the first week of the holidays that could have been life changing but for the skills if a wonderful surgeon and our NHS.
He is recovering though and he will be able to take up his place at uni if his grades are ok.
In some ways it has changed him for the better, he is much more cautious and sensible now.
Good luck to everyones DC and pity cake sounds delicious.

DD and I are both very tense. I am only worried because she is worried (if that makes sense). She has her heart set on one particular course at one particular college and won’t even be going through clearing if she doesn’t get in. Instead, she will be doing a complete rethink and taking some time out.

DH and I are both okay with that and know that it won’t be the end of the world but DD doesn’t appreciate that at the moment and I obviously don’t want to minimise her feelings. It’s pretty horrible to watch.

We are off to the cinema at 10 pm in the hope of distracting ourselves and being sufficiently tired by the time we get back to get some sleep.

Serin sorry to hear about your DS. Hope he makes a quick recovery now and gets the results he needs.

DD has friends here. Told her to try and get an early night and was told teenagers don't go to bed early. We still had two here at 12.20 this morning.

Good luck to all your DCs tomorrow and hope the day goes okay for everyone.

Results are due here at 6.30am and we're planning to leave for school asap after if needs be, as it's open from 7.30pm and it's a good 90 mins drive first thing.

RedHelenB · 14/08/2019 21:33

@pumpkinpie01 You should have received a letter a couple of weeks after applying for student finance.

Dd nervous and hoping for an email.from Liverpool before we set off to college for results. Shes already looked at grease boundaries but I'm not sure what use that is!

Benjispruce · 14/08/2019 22:38

Not too bad. DD has been at work every day for last week so has only just started to panic a bit. She thinks she’s done enough but the last minute doubts creep in. Expecting to be woken super early with eitherSmile or Sad Good luck all!

Benjispruce · 14/08/2019 22:39

Our school opens at 9!!!!!

scarecrowhead · 14/08/2019 22:43

My ds says results go live from 6am

2gorgeousboys · 14/08/2019 22:43

I remember this well from last year. I spent the evening googling grade boundaries and looking at courses in clearing!

Good luck everyone. I hope some sleep is managed tonight and that results are as you hope.

Benjispruce · 14/08/2019 22:46

I am now panicking that I haven’t looked at grade boundaries or clearing. DD says leave it to her. I hope she’s got it covered- currently doing her fake tan for night out tomorrow Hmm

2gorgeousboys · 14/08/2019 22:54

Benjispruce I wouldnt recommend it! Try and relax and whatever happens stay calm tomorrow. Fingers crossed for you both.

2gorgeousboys · 14/08/2019 22:57

DS1s school was open from 8am. He was hoping to hear before but got a text from Uni at 8:30 just as we were trying to work out if he'd got the points he needed as one grade was better and one worse.

Benjispruce · 14/08/2019 22:58

Thanks. Just checked school website and now open at 8. Pretty bad that they didn’t text the change in time. DD was unaware as she’d looked this morning and it said 9.

Serin · 15/08/2019 00:20

Ifonly4 90 minutes is a fair old trek! I guess none of us on here will be getting much sleep tonight.

StudentHelp · 15/08/2019 00:23

Good luck to all DC

Benjispruce · 15/08/2019 06:35

No news yet. I thought UCAS opened at 6.30?

ifonly4 · 15/08/2019 06:38

Results out from school. We're looking at insurance. She hasn't said it, but DD is clearly disappointment. No marks have been given so we'll have to see if remarks are worth it.

Benjispruce · 15/08/2019 06:43

Oh ifonly fingers crossed

ifonly4 · 15/08/2019 06:55

Thanks. On the plus side, she got an A* which is something to be really proud of.

Will touch base with you all later to see how today has gone.

unitednations · 15/08/2019 06:55

UCAS is 8am

fishonabicycle · 15/08/2019 06:57

Text received from Nottingham trent! He's in! Phew.

Benjispruce · 15/08/2019 06:58

Brill !

fishonabicycle · 15/08/2019 06:59

Thank you! He's going to defer (wants to save up to visit a mate in Sydney) but so good to have it in the bank.

Benjispruce · 15/08/2019 07:02

DD has got in the shower. I think I’m more nervous than she is.

unitednations · 15/08/2019 07:15

Is usual for the universities to text or email ?

Nothing here as yet

unitednations · 15/08/2019 07:16

Congratulations @fishonabicycle x
