Good luck to all this week's candidates.

HesMyLobster · 11/12/2017 00:18

Oh my goodness, well done to all those who have travelled safely, and good luck to all travelling tomorrow.

It's really bad luck to have so much extra stress and worry to cope with at an already very stressful time.

Wishing them all lots of luck for their interviews.

Hubble25 · 11/12/2017 10:05

Off school here in Wiltshire. Good luck for this week's interviews everybody.

HeyBells · 11/12/2017 12:14

Good Luck and safe travels to those with interviews this week.

Risotto301 · 11/12/2017 13:07

DS finished his first DS and obviously enjoyed it much! i told him it had lasted for aeound 50min and he was surprised as he lost count of time! is this a good sign?

Still two more to go!

fatbottomgirl67 · 11/12/2017 13:07

Dd safely at Oxford. Trains were bit late but not snowing She says it's freezing cold . 1st interview late aftetnoon. Feel so nervous for her

OhYouBadBadKitten · 11/12/2017 13:54

Careful not to talk about any content at all Risotto, they have signed non disclosure agreements and if the uni find out it can cause issues with their offers. I’m going to report your post just so it doesn’t get him into any pickles. Hope you don’t mind. Glad it went well.

Oh I’m sob sorry Kitten. How would it help by reporting my post? Shall I delete/edit it?

RustyBear · 11/12/2017 17:11

You can’t delete or edit posts on Mumsnet, Risotto, it has to be reported to MNHQ so they can do it.

Risotto301 · 11/12/2017 17:50

I see! Thank you Rusty! Silly me!

Risotto301 · 11/12/2017 17:51

Yes kitten pls report and ask for deletion of my post! Thank you very much

Risotto301 · 11/12/2017 19:19

Asked DS, he said Oxford does not ask them to sign NDA, only Cambridge does.

HesMyLobster · 11/12/2017 19:50

I checked with DD - she said she wasn't asked to sign anything at Oxford either

whiteroseredrose · 11/12/2017 20:06

Is your son applying for physics Risotto? DS only got there tonight for interviews tomorrow.

Risotto301 · 11/12/2017 20:19

Rose, my DS applied for Materials Science.
He had 3 interviews today! All lasted 40min or more! He was pretty exhausted after the last one, a bit frustrated too as the interviews go tougher and tougher! But now he and I had managed to convince him to just put this down and enjoy the holidays ahead.
He agrees that since he has got good offers from Imperial and Manchester, He shouldn’t be too bothered by the result from Oxford. If Oxford accepts him, it’s a happy problem (as he would have to choose between Oxford and Imperial), if Oxford rejects him, he can just simply, happily take Imperial.

Good luck to your DS, Rose!

RaindropsAndSparkles · 11/12/2017 20:29

DD just got Durham Smile

Risotto301 · 11/12/2017 20:51

Congrats Raindrops!

whiteroseredrose · 11/12/2017 20:52

Thanks Risotto. I was panicking that he was a day late!

whiteroseredrose · 11/12/2017 21:00

DS has lost a bit of confidence as we still haven't heard from Imperial so he thinks it must be a no. Offers from Bristol and Durham though so not all bad!

I'll be glad when the interviews are over!

YippeeTeenager · 11/12/2017 21:46

Whiterose, my DD still hasn’t heard from Imperial either and neither have quite a few of her friends. Just an acknowledgement email very early on to say they had received their applications, but nothing since. DD has applied for Biochemistry, like your DS I think. We haven’t given up hope yet here!

Dancingdreamer · 11/12/2017 21:47

So DD has arrived in Oxford with DH. With all the weather problems, we decided it was safer to book an hotel and travel up early ready for interviews tomorrow. DD, however, has already dumped DH to meet up with friends who are already in Oxford. DH rang home to say he is sitting in the hotel room alone eating biscuits! Poor man.

RaindropsAndSparkles · 11/12/2017 21:57

Oh FGS tell him to get a cab to Browns and treat himself to a steak or a steamy pie. DD and her friends can meet him for pud and coffee and a cheeky cab back good luck.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 11/12/2017 22:12

looks like mn sorted it. Thanks mn :) sorry, I assumed that oxford would be the same as Cambridge. Better safe than sorry though, you don’t want loads of students peparing answers on any topics that are mentioned here Grin

No problem Kitten. Agree that better play safe! Thanks again for the reminder and help.

RaindropsAndSparkles · 11/12/2017 22:19

Indeed. Didn't even delete it Grin. No ACs on this thread.
