Turn down a Cambridge offer

My daughter and I were talking about the whole uni student experience.

Having spent a week at a Cambridge summer school and also visited her friend at a different uni for a week she feels that if someone went to oxbridge they would miss out on the nightlife, clubbing, staying up all night, eating beans on toast kinda thing.

I have no experience of being at a uni... are we stereo typing and being very judgemental to think this? And would someone be crazy to turn down an offer to study medicine at oxbridge due to these views?

Thank you for your thoughts 🙂

I did a year at cambridge, hated it and moved to Exeter... but that wasn't for the lack of nightlife. It just didn't suit me at all.

You still get loads of expenses for being PM though, not sure if they've been published recently but the PM got 142k a year before allowing for all the travel allowances second home allowances clothing allowances which I expect to at least double that, hair dressers, make up artists. For non MPs your salary is your salary, for politicians it's just a starting point.

The PM starts to make the big bucks after they leave Downing Street, same with many of the very senior civil servants.
