One college has on its website that CompSci invites are out for that college also CompSci and Philosophy. It must be ahead of the game!

Yeah, indeed, seems like someone has already procured an interview from St John for Comp Sc...saw in on a spreadsheet over at the TSR. Good thing it is not the subject my son is applying for, otherwise , I would be so freaked out.

That college - and several others - have the subjects which have issued invites on their applicants' news pages. Those are far more reliable than TSR where some dubious claims sometimes seem to be made.

DD has applied to Oxford for Classics. She submitted some written work and sat a Latin assessment earlier this month. She didn't think the Latin exam went well, but she has thought that before and did well. Just waiting to hear about an interview, which would be in early December.

There's a spreadsheet on TSR with interview offers on, and a couple do seem dubious, it's true. Also there are some very tall tales on there about achievements.

Ds still waiting to hear. One way or the other.

The English offer on that spreadsheet strikes me as being on the very early side Rhoda and yes quite to some of the grades!

Good luck to your DS.

Best of luck to all d'cs going for interviews. My dd was lucky last year and has a place, but on a gap year on medical grounds as she got run over 2 weeks before start date and was in hospital. She has recovered and found a job and is loving earning money and visiting friends at various uni's.

What makes great you think that some of the grades on TSR aren't true??

This is agony. Catz (Cambridge) had said soon after 15 Nov for Chinese Studies (faculty Asian and Middle Eastern Studies).

Still waiting

Is no-one else waiting for AMES at Cambridge???

ds's college don't appear to have started yet. At this rate the interviews will be on Christmas Day! That's one good thing about TSR. You can see which colleges/subjects are sending out interviews. Otherwise a hopeful would be in a complete state as time wore on... and on.

But people lie about this too.

And I don't suppose there are many people who are going to post that they've received a rejection.

Dd1 awaits what she expects to be a rejection for Physics at Worcester. She's basing her expectations on the PAT, and has previously been quite accurate in her impressions of how she's done. She says she'll be disappointed but not devastated, as she has an interview at Manchester which would be her top choice. But I'm joining this thread, possibly quite briefly(!), in case I'm able to update with timings for anyone. Good luck to all dcs, and Flowers to bevelino junior. I'm glad she's on the mend and able to take up her place in the Autumn Smile.

Thanks, sofa!!! Good to know there are other AMES applicants out there!

In case it's of any use to anyone, one of my applicants has received an offer of an interview for Architecture at Downing - he heard on Friday afternoon.

LittleHoHum · 21/11/2016 12:04

Briefly on this thread for Physics too roundandround.

My dd didn't like the PAT either and expects to be rejected. She isn't bothered as she has three offers and one is her favourite. Smile

I'm glad your dd is also happy enough, Little :). It helps a lot when they have offers/interviews for other places they'd like to go.

Maths at Newnham are out too, in case that's of any use

Think I'll be briefly on here too. DS1 found the PAT incredibly hard. He also has an interview from Manchester roundandroundthehouses Has an offer from Edinburgh and waiting to hear from UCL

ErrolTheDragon · 21/11/2016 13:01

It sounds like everyone's DCs found that PAT hard, so maybe some of them will be pleasantly surprised.

Dd1 has just texted to say her friend has been invited for an interview at Oxford :). I'm pretty sure she applied for Computer Science at Worcester but have asked dd1 to remind me.
