DS has done his exam (Oxford, History) and written his essay. Now, the waiting begins.......

Well done her. Still waiting here. DS thinks by the end of next week.

It varies by college, I think not many of the applicants at her school have heard yet. Glad she has, for one thing it clashes with an interview elsewhere so she'll have to sort that out.

Friends of dd have received interview offers today for medicine. She's yet to hear from Oxford about her English application ..........

New college oxford law

Someone DS "knows" from online (so not entirely reputable) says they e-mailed Oxford and (for History) interviews / rejections should be clear by the end of next week. Agh!

Thats 3 eng offers so far, I think that means between us theres half a chance one will be accepted . I just found www.undergraduate.study.cam.ac.uk/apply/statistics - you can generate graphs of applicants/offers for combinations of course and college (or overall, which is probably best as theres the pool thing). The ratios for some subjects aren't as high as I'd imagined.

Just heard DS has got an interview for Oxford. Yay!

So Oxford has sent out for Classics and Law. Was it post or email? Were there tests for those on the 2nd? And will it vary by college? Maths has a pool system I know...

The law tests were earlier George but Classics may have sent invites simply because of the limited numbers applying. Aren't almost all invites by e-mail?

I must say those posters naming both college and subject are brave. My DC would have killed me.

Also George, I've been snooping on TSR which I tend only ever to do at interview time and I can only see an international with a Maths invite although some Computer Sciences seem to be out - do they do the MAT?

I don't think so. Maths with comp sci do, but I don't think straight comp sci do the MAT.
