Same here best. DD has submitted with 4.

I think if they offer they are all likely to be the same. We've heard from 2 so far with AAB offers.

Would be nice to find a 5th option that might offer lower as otherwise I can't see the point of having an insurance place

eyv great things turned out well. This whole process is good for sending you from despair to elation pretty quickly. But I suppose that's parenting teens for you Grin

My DD got an offer from Exeter within a week of the UCAS from being submitted. She is now waiting to hear from Durham!

Exeter - along with Southampton - is one we haven't heard from. For English and Spanish.

3 vet med interviews offered, one school yet to say yes or no. Anyway, can i just say that i am immensly proud of my dd? Yes it is boastful but only vet applicants know the struggle to even get to this point and i am over-invested. Phew, just had to get that off my chest! Thanks ladies.

Leeds may I ask what subject that was for at Exeter?. DS is waiting for them and Durham

Report

Not exactly sure, as she has done her UCAS form without any input from me or OH! I think it would be anthropology based, but really not sure of the exact title. She is still waiting from Durham too, and also UCL. UCL have them sit a separate test, so the wait is whether she is asked to sit it, iyswim.

My DS has finally got his UCAS sent off a couple of days ago with next to no help from his FE college. DD was at a school sixth form which was really geared up to providing lots of guidance and an efficient reference service if they met deadlines. In comparison DS went to open days in June and was asked by his tutor why was he looking "so early" ????? His tutor then said he writes his references in the Christmas holidays !!!!!! Anyway, with my help, his big sister who did it all two years ago and a friend who used to work at an FE college we have helped him construct what we hope is a good PS. My DS has informed his tutor that he will be getting a reference request soon and asked him basically if he could do it ASAP as he can apply for his accommodation as soon as he gets an offer from his first choice - fingers crossed he does now !!!

I agree traceyinrosso70 My dc have had vastly different ucas experiences. ds1 stayed on at school and ds3 moved to FE. The institutions are polar opposites in their understanding, support and attitude towards the whole thing. School being totally on the ball in every aspect. Ds3 didn't want to stay on at school and I think if there had been a dc4 who had visions of going on to HE, I would think twice about recommending either of our 2 local FE colleges.

We have finally had an offer from Bath, DD is going to the Sheffield Open Day on Wednesday, after which we hope she will get an offer from them, and then it is the long wait until her interview at the end of January in York. She is keen to know what offers are on the table so that she can work out her firm and insurance, and then just concentrate on getting the grades.

Ds has his first offer. Very pleased - Warwick, his insurance choice, but he would be perfectly happy if he ended up there. Great relief.

He too is waiting for Exeter, and also Bristol and Birmingham. We expect Bristol and Exeter to be another month, based on last year, but we thought Birmingham would be quicker - has anyone had an offer from them yet?

Well done to your dd Leeds2. I hope Durham don't keep her waiting until March now.

PeaceandlOve I have total respect for your dd making it through all that work experience, years and years of it, and presumbably lambing, farm work etc AND all the academic stuff. Well done to her for getting the interviews and good luck for them.

dottygamekeeper your dd is probably feeling like my ds, so good to have a (hopefully achievable) offer in the bag - well done to her.

Phew, 4 offers and an interview for the 5th choice. DD has decided on her firm and insurance choices and has declined the interview. One hurdle out if the way.
Revising hard for her mocks before Christmas as well as doing course work, essays and has just started a part time job waitressing to save up towards uni expenses.

well done LIZS and hennipenni

we are still waiting on offer 5 (first choice) and next week DD has a visit day at number 2 choice that we've not seen yet.

not stressing though because the last one (Exeter) are notorious for holding out till spring

Interesting to hear about Exeter taking a while.

DD's form finally went last week after have been sat on by the school for about a month! Anyway, we have one offer from KCL - we didn't expect them to be the first back.

We'll join the queue waiting to hear from Exeter!

If dcs are waiting until March(!) for Exeter (and Bristol and Durham) offers, how can they get a chance to go on Offer Holder Days? They must be very short notice. Don't they risk dcs deciding against them?

Well done to your dd for KCL hattymattie

Seem to remember reading on here last year that dc were waiting for Durham and got rather peeved and ended up withdrawing so that they could accept earlier offers and go to applicant days and get on accommodation waiting lists. I don't think Durham mind dc deciding against them, they will always have plenty of people queuing to go.

Can I join in this thread? My DD has been dithering about her choices and so was the last in her form to get her form submitted, but did so yesterday. She wants to do Biology with Philosophy and has applied to Leeds, Liverpool, Sussex, Keele and Sheffield. Lots of her friends have good offers already, but I'm not sure when she might hear something.

Welcome to the gang GRW
Some unis reply fast, others take a blerdy age.

DD is off to visit York tomorrow which will decide whether it goes to the top of her list.
No idea about "Offer Holder days" as her four offers have just been by email, no interviews or anything ...
