Continuing Roisin's thread.

I've even succumbed to TSR, having sworn I wouldn't. Still no news here and haven't heard of news from any other source in the same subject at the same college but being very uncool tbh as the reality is that rejection after an interview would be much kinder for DS than a no ab initio. Massively cheered by a late afternoon offer from Bristol though. I thought I was chilled, I'm clearly not Grin.

Fingers crossed for everyone still waiting and hoping. It's very hard to see them disappointed, is the problem :(

Is the envelope thin or thick Fellfan?

Louiseneedsacoffee · 10/01/2015 08:52

As I wait for my ds' envelope to arrive, I would like to say how much I have smiled at some of the posts. Whilst I wouldn't wish the waiting and the tiptoeing around teenager, on anyone, I have found this thread reassuringly human, many thanks and I genuinely wish all your DC the best.

MarianneSolong · 10/01/2015 09:00

I merely mention that our post frequently arrives around 2pm....

MrsBartlet · 10/01/2015 09:07

I don't think the thickness of the envelope gives anything away. Someone on TSR who got an offer said it was on a single sheet of paper.

MadameJosephine · 10/01/2015 09:27

mrsbarlet I was just about to post the same thing, glad I'm not the only one stalking the tsr Cambridge forum :)

MrsBartlet · 10/01/2015 09:34

Well, got to do something whilst waiting for the post to arrive Grin

QueenQueenie · 10/01/2015 09:34

Yay! Offer for ds. From college he applied to. I couldn't be more pleased for him. Post arrives earlier on Saturdays than weekdays here Hmm. Can report envelope neither fat nor thin... A5 size with 4 sheets A4 folded in half.
Wishing the rest of you patience and good vibes.

cathyandclaire · 10/01/2015 09:38

Well done Queen!
Fantastic news for DD, offer for Clare Grin
Arrived in very boring white A5 envelope, so bog-standard we thought the Cambridge letter hadn't arrived and it was something from the insurance company.
No owls, no seals :(

MrsBartlet · 10/01/2015 09:39

Congrats to your ds QueenQueenie!

cathyandclaire · 10/01/2015 09:39

Wishing loads of luck to everyone waiting!

MrsBartlet · 10/01/2015 09:40

Hurrah cathyandclaire - very pleased for your dd!

MadameJosephine · 10/01/2015 09:52

It's a rejection for DS :(
He seems to be fine, he's said all along that his interview wasn't good enough

Fellfan · 10/01/2015 09:53

A4 envelope but not thick...
am remembering back to my 11+ results day when we all left our primary school clutching a letter to give to anxious parent waiting at gate and some were thick and some were thin.

Fellfan · 10/01/2015 09:54

Ha! The envelopes I mean not the anxious parents!

Littleham · 10/01/2015 09:57

Sending you imaginary Brew and Cake MadameJo. I thought that your son was very brave indeed.

Good luck to everyone else today.

roisin · 10/01/2015 10:00

Thinking of you all today: congrats and commiserations.

MrsBartlet · 10/01/2015 10:00

Sorry MadameJosephine - glad your ds seems fine, though.

Molio · 10/01/2015 10:12

So sorry for that news MadameJosephine, especially having followed your DS's story :( All the very, very best to him.

Fab news for cathyandclaire and QQ - a massive well done!

Are you not even trying to see through the envelope Fellfan? - you're showing heroic restraint Grin. DS presumably didn't trust me anyhow, so gave the go-ahead to check his e-mails and open letters on Wednesday. A tense morning since I could see from TSR that his college was sending rejections before 9am. My heart was definitely beating far too hard each time I refreshed.

I'm the same Decorhate but I try not to let those thoughts creep in.

Same as Littleham - good luck to everyone else.

Offer for DD at her chosen college Gonville and Caius. We are all in shock, it arrived in a standard utility bill sized envelope.

Congratulations / Commiserations to all the brave DC's that applied.

GraceFox · 10/01/2015 10:58

MadameJosephine your ds must be very proud of trying so hard to push through his anxiety. He is obviously very able indeed and will thrive in another centre of excellence.

Big congrats to the new offer holders.

Ds waiting.....

bobs123 · 10/01/2015 11:02

DD2 still in bed....had a good night last night (DD1 just been sick so must have been - too many cocktails Confused

Post arrives late so off to stalk the postie walk the dog Smile

HMF1 · 10/01/2015 11:37

DS didn't get offer from college or from winter pool, he is disappointed & a little subdued. We will encourage him to ask for the feedback offered. He does have 3 offers & is waiting to hear from St Andrews (2nd choice) . We have told him we are proud of him for trying( only 3 Oxbridge applicants across our local authority area) & all his achievements so far, just going to offer him all the support we can & be a little indulgent this weekend. Congratulations to all your DCs who made it & considerations to those who didn't. I hope they will all have happy & successful university careers.

MrsBartlet · 10/01/2015 11:39

Dd just got an offer for English from Emmanuel. She is beside herself with excitement. Just waiting to hear if her best friend got in, which would be the icing on the cake.

MarianneSolong · 10/01/2015 11:44

My daughter has been offered a place at her chosen Cambridge college.

webwiz · 10/01/2015 12:00

Rejection for DS. He's very disappointed. I'm glad he has the weekend to pick himself up.
