Thought we might need a new thread for the results...

MrsJay oh no, that sounds really stressful for you. Do you think it could be a delay in the email coming through? Where is the other person compared to you alphabetically? Could it be that the uni has phoned/emailed them first as their name appears first?

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 13/08/2014 18:16

Anyone else eaten their own bodyweight in junk food today?

MrsJayGatsby · 13/08/2014 18:16

I did think that, they're a H and I'm a T so it is a possibility, but it's been quite a while since they had their email..I'd say over a week now. It would be fine as I was told I'd have to wait until the 14th, so I was waiting! Then I spoke to this other person and they told me they'd had their confirmation and I just got really worried, I can't think of a reason that they've got in and I haven't based on our results.
I've been on the verge of tears since I spoke to them on Saturday, I so desperately want to go to this university, I worked so hard juggling kids (single parent) while studying for my access course, and if I don't get in I'll be devastated. I'm checking my emails constantly, I feel as though I'm going demented!

FantaSea · 13/08/2014 18:23

LetsFace I am the opposite, I feel too sick to eat, and yet normally love all sweets and junk Blush I am hoping a glass or two of wine with my tiny supper may settle things a bit.

MrsJay I can't think of a reason either, and it is probably most likely that you will hear tomorrow if they said the 14th, but I can see how unsettling it would be to know that someone has heard and you haven't. There are probably lots of other people in the same situation as you, all worried silly.

Lindor · 13/08/2014 19:24

yes, no one to talk to in RL either here, so it's nice to hear from all of you. Been out to buy nice ice-cream, and fruity cider, Ds favourite tipple. So we'll either celebrate or commiserate tomorrow. Whatever happens he's going out with his mates in the evening. Good luck to you all, and hope you get some sleep tonight

x

zizza · 13/08/2014 19:28

Isn't it bedtime yet.....?

lismore · 13/08/2014 19:31

At least it's Great British Bake Off tonight, nothing too cerebral..

Cocodale · 13/08/2014 19:45

Awaiting a retake result tomorrow for our dd, dependent on result for her uni place. Feeling very anxious, have work tonight so it's going to be a long shift!!

fridayfreedom · 13/08/2014 19:58

Feeling sick here as well! Dd can log on to college email account at 7.30am. She'd better not sleep later than that

seagull70 · 13/08/2014 20:21

We have champers lined up here for celebrations and gin for commiserations Grin

Good luck to you all, can't believe we will all have results tomorrow. Xxxx

whatsinaname01 · 13/08/2014 21:54

Aaahh- today seems to have gone on forever!!

DS out at a party tonight and has said not to wake him up to early! (He'll be lucky)

Feeling really tired but not sure if i'll get much sleep.

Good luck to everyone for tomorrow xx

friendface · 13/08/2014 22:24

DS has already headed off to bed to catch up with some Breaking Bad to fill the time before trying to sleep. Alarm is rather optimistically set for 7am although I doubt any of us will manage to sleep in until then!

Good luck to all of our children tomorrow, although I know whatever the outcomes there will be celebrations all round Wine. Sadly no champagne pic!

traceyinrosso70 · 13/08/2014 22:31

Well, now watching One Born with DD - she's putting off going to bed in the hope that she will sleep ! Thinking of all of them tomorrow and just hoping they all end up in the best place for them long term !

fussychica · 13/08/2014 22:47

Good luck to you all and to your DCs.

Just thankful I never had to go through this stress 3 years ago as DS was educated abroad and had results in May so his offer went unconditional at that point. Didn't realize how lucky we were!

Drink plenty of Wine - might help you sleep!

BeckAndCall · 13/08/2014 22:53

I'd love to go to sleep right now by DD is at an 18th to take her mind off it and I said I'd pick her up at midnight!

boys3 · 13/08/2014 23:10

without wishing to sound too much like the closing credits of the Waltons, hope all get some sleep tonight, and very best wishes for all for the morning.

cricketballs · 13/08/2014 23:10

Good luck to everyone xxx

lismore · 13/08/2014 23:13

Good Luck to all for tomorrow morning!

traceyinrosso70 · 13/08/2014 23:14

Good luck ! Off to bed now to try and sleep !

lalsy · 13/08/2014 23:16

Gosh can't time go slowly? Good luck to all.

zizza · 14/08/2014 00:03

Night all. DH away so I'm going to bed to watch something rubbishy on iPlayer on my phone (no tv in bedroom!!) - usually just makes me fall asleep.

Hope tomorrow works out well for you all and your young people x

boys3 · 14/08/2014 00:06

14th has arrived, no idea why I've waited up for it. Confused I seem not, however, to have turned into a pumpkin, so off to a promising start. Hopefully that good fortune will continue and be widely shared.

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 14/08/2014 00:15

Just hijacked DS2 on his way to bed and suggested he had a quick check of his emails just in case. Happy to report that the idea was met with the appropriate amused distain. Grin

Good luck to all the DCs.

clam · 14/08/2014 00:24

Ds is adamant he doesn't want to find out via email, so we're going to have to go into school to get an old-fashioned envelope. But then, he still won't know for sure where he'll be going, if he doesn't reach his offer grades.

I feel sick too. GCSE results passed by easily, but then the stakes weren't so high. But with every day that has passed since he took this lot (Physics, Chemistry and Maths), he's dropped a grade in his mind.

GAAAAAHHH! This is hideous.

Littleham · 14/08/2014 00:31

Wine hic up....

Durham not in clearing, has not dropped grades, so I think she is doomed there. Holding out for Bristol. Tried to sleep - counted sheep, counted admissions tutors, counted language course in clearing. Aaargh.

Insomnia - & all my DC & DH are soundly asleep. How can they!
