Bad attitude of some of you here

There's a lot of bad attitude on here. Culture of underachievement and all that. It's sad and a bit shocking really when these children are the ones who really need the help and the resources and aren't getting it. My daughter is four and I'm not abashed to say the word 'genuis'. In front of her or not. It isn't a bad word, it's what she is and I love her for it.

How do I know? Oh please, this is the child who was playing - meaningully - with abacus at 3 months. Now four she has read Secret Seven and is working on newspapers. She has her own email.

So shoot me. My daughter is gifted, there, I said it. Why the bad attitude?

I should have guessed from your posts that you were not, in fact, gifted or talented.

I do love the bits where Lolly and Lotrl attack each other. Can we have more of that please?

I felt the baby moving at 10 weeks, I think that is a sign that my hard work is paying off.

WriggleJiggle · 21/02/2007 12:18

I know some of you lot are jesting, but my 10 month dd actually is a genius. This morning I caught her reading Shakespeare, and yesterday she almost digested a whole dictionary before I persuaded her to have a b/f instead.

JanH · 21/02/2007 12:18

And of course lortl is another reg (and no more american than greeny is - there is an American way of writing and neither of them has it)

Could be rhubarb - she does use "whilst"

TeeCee · 21/02/2007 12:20

Greensleeves - you're the bloody genius. I read with mouth open but still grinning (not a good look) for nearly all this thread. Am gutted I didn't get to join in before I knew it was you having a laugh. Absolutley brilliant. I was going to have a word about the 'rises above the crowd' line.

I think you are all just jealous. Perhaps even guilty about your own inadequacies?

lissielou · 21/02/2007 12:21

me too teecee, i was getting a bit wound up at points

WriggleJiggle · 21/02/2007 12:21

Its just so difficult getting on MN these days, what with dd trying to research astrophysics on the internet, I never get chance to surf myself

TenaLady · 21/02/2007 12:21

Lollymum, I think everyone loves to hear of a child who is exceptional, quite often it is the parents that dont hold back from letting the world know. That is what urks a lot of people, constantly droning on about their childs achievements.

Most folk are intelligent enough to work this out for themselves when they meet your child but there is no need to put a label on it.

Hope she keeps the good work up.
