VT - underactive is more straightforward to deal with/correct than overactive, so I promise not to covet your thyroid!

DreamsInBinary · 27/05/2010 18:57

Hell, hello

Popping in for a minute before the children go to bed (five minute countdown..)

Hells - I entered my details in the dukan diet man's site and he told me my true weight is...3lbs less than I weigh now . He is blind. Will go back and see if a different heaviest weight/stable weight will change his mind...

jetcat · 27/05/2010 19:21

TC/Vinny - i hope you dont think i was meaning mine was harder to deal with than yours i meant purely in terms of weight - ie. underweight rather than over

Alicetheinvisible · 27/05/2010 19:29

Ok, still grumpy and feeling like a complete fraud so there

I have been told to take it easier, but pretty much carry on with life by the Drs' at the hosp, but the MWs' who saw me the most said that i obviously need to rest as just standing up and going to the loo sets off strong BH and makes me uncomfortable. It is driving me up the wall tbh.

Sorry for self obsessed post, i am sulking

TotalChaos · 27/05/2010 19:29

oh I don't have either (yet!) so no need to feel jet. Mind given my gran and mum both have underactive.....

bellavita · 27/05/2010 19:33

Hey Vinny

  • Well done you!!
CrispyTheCrisp · 27/05/2010 19:37

Alice, poor you, i don't envy you in the slightest. 5 weeks was bad enough for me. {{hugs}}

{{hugs}} for Iggy too. And breathe

Got my P45 in the post today . Fuckers have underpaid me by £600 . Feel another fight coming on

VinegarTits · 27/05/2010 19:38

Hello Bella

Jet dont be daft, what are you apologising for?

DS1 has just come in with the most HUGEnormous, gorgeous diamond ring, he is proposing to his gf next month he spent a whole moths wages on it!

Lizzylou · 27/05/2010 19:38

OMG! Seems I may be doing that 5km on the 5th JUne!
I've not managed to run 5kn in one go yet, let alone at my old 30mins pace, and I suspect that would be too slow for a bastard triathlon!
SHIT.

I may be able to get out of it by saying I have to take the boys to a party.....

My Stepmom had thyroid probs, not sure whether over or under and she was v ill, she was v emotional and depressed with it, unusual for her as she's usually of a sunny disposition when not nicking people's husbands meeeeow

Lizzylou · 27/05/2010 19:41

Oh Vinny, how fab!
Your DS1 always sounds like he is such a lovely young man (that makes me sound so very old!).

Crispy, the feckers. When I was made redundant, my very wise and lovely mate said that all the people he knew who'd been made redundant had gone on to find better jobs and be happier. He was totally right in my case, I bet he is with you as well!

Do you want to email me your CV and I'll see what I can do, have some mates who are accountants who may know of some posts???

CrispyTheCrisp · 27/05/2010 19:43

Vinny, brilliant news . He sounds like such a lovely lad, you should be very proud

Thanks Lizzy, i will do . Can you fb me your email addy?

VinegarTits · 27/05/2010 19:44

omg thats means im going to be a MIL one day soon

VinegarTits · 27/05/2010 19:45

thanks crispy and lizzy, he is a very lovely young man

CrispyTheCrisp · 27/05/2010 19:46

Yes, but you will be one of the lovely ones. A rare breed . Sorry if that makes you sound like a cow/pig

bellavita · 27/05/2010 19:47

Aww Vinny, how lovely

TotalChaos · 27/05/2010 19:50

exciting news Vinny!

Lizzy - the 5k run could be just the incentive you wanted to bootcamp yourself!

crispy - ah the feckers!

alice - not a self-obsessed post at all, I genuinely wanted to know what you had been told, I don't want to lecture you about needing bed rest if you haven't been recommended that. It sounds as if opinion is divided as to whether total rest is needed - so - don't push yourself with chores, but if you need a trip out for sanity's sake, then find something v. sedentary, and listen to your body's signals re:BH

Alicetheinvisible · 27/05/2010 20:00

Vinny - that is lovely

Crispy - what complete wankers. Definitely have a row, at least you don't have to go in every day now.

Total - thanks, i hate moping, but feel i am becoming very good at it

jetcat · 27/05/2010 20:10

awww Vinny - that is lovely (and thanks - you too TC, i just panicked and thought i had put my foot in it)

crisp - defo start a fight - £600 is a lot of money The buggers!

Lizzy - my 5k run is next week - although i know i will be walking and pushing pushchair, so not too worried about that bit - its just the thousands of people that is a bit of a challenge

Alice - you need to start a pisstake fun thread on AIBUR that may just cheer you up!

Alicetheinvisible · 27/05/2010 20:14

I just lack the inspiration Jet. The only thread of mine that hasn't fizzled was when i was trying to find a name for our cat, it made thread of the day! (cat is called Cat though )

Iggisfulloftayto · 27/05/2010 20:17

Evening, tis lovely to log on and see nice messages for grouchy old me. And nice news about babies and engagements. DS is asleep (probably) and DH is too. Attempted to join him but was spurned! Am going to read housekeeping section tonight to try an find a better way of organising life rather than headless chicken routine.
Sorry about your job Crispy. Eejits.
What kind of hat are you getting Vinny?

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 27/05/2010 20:18

Right, here we go

Alice, please look after yourself and REST.

Wasting - sorry you are feeling sluggish, hope you perk up a bit and remember to drink water - dehydration can make you feel like that.

Trills - sounds like a fab holiday, lovely to have you back.

Hells - I watched a lot of 24 on Mat. leave too. Can you guess what DS is called?
Have a lovely dinner.

TC - so sorry about your friend. There can't really be any 'right' way to give bad news.

Saf - I'm not used to compliments. I could say the same to you, but you're a lush I agree my driving is terrible.

Lizzy - Congrats on the pregnancy news! Oh, and I'm not houseproud believe me, it's more a case of holding back the tides of destruction

Iggi - hope you made some headway on your to do list, it's always really satisfying crossing something of the list.

Mouse- physio sounds painful. I did though over the aerobics with paper shredders!

Mittz - hope you are feeling a little brighter today.

Shiney - I can remember back to the honeymoon period of new love - just!

Bella - well done on your decluttering.

Jet at pa's DH! Some people live in a whole other world!

Double - sounds like a busy day. Any luck with your S+B thread?

Crispy - the fuckers! make a fuss. I had the same situation when I was 5 months pg with DD. I was made redundant, they underpaid my mat. pay by £800 and I had to find a new job and go back to work when DD was 5 weeks old.

Fanny - well done on the new job, I would love to work in a library.

DEM - hope you have an early night, the cakes sound lush and your butt sounds pert!

Vinny - Your DS sounds lovely, you are obviously doing something right.

DIB - at the countdown to bedtime. I'm sometimes doing that from the minute I pick DS up from school!

And Finally

Yank - where are you? I didn't realise this round up stuff was such hard work!

TotalChaos · 27/05/2010 20:18

Iggi cuts to the chase - the wedding hat. I want you to go to Felicity Hat Hire, as the whole concept intrigues me.

Iggisfulloftayto · 27/05/2010 20:18

Alice, when you are stuck in bed/couch I picture you as a Tom Cruise in Minority Report type figure, sitting with laptop and in complete control of everything that is going on on MN and ready to alert us to anything we need to know.

Lizzylou · 27/05/2010 20:22

Felicity Hat HIre!!!!
When our old house flooded we lived above a Felicity Hat hire for a while and have been in a few times with MIL and Stepmom and Mom, fab place!
OOh, Vinny, you get to be MOther of the Groom and wear a hat! HOw boody exciting is that???

Random capitals and grammar probs can be explained by the fact that I have had no dinner and 2 G&(slimline) T's.

I am simply not hungry, what a bizarre concept?!

Lizzylou · 27/05/2010 20:23

at Iggi, you are on form this evening.
