Welcome to the shiney thread.

Cock and cake, ladies, that's what it's about.

I'm Yank, I've lost 1st 4lbs since starting here. Re-introduce yourselves at your leisure!

now where is our fearless leader?

hellsbelles · 27/05/2010 13:48

Lizzy - no time for a little shred even? This is not like you. Think of the 12th

Congrats to your DB

Apparently the diet book DH has ordered is called the Dukan Diet here - sounds disguisting and highly dangerous and I may lose 8lbs in 3 days. Do you dare me to? I will stink and have constipation and probably do myself terrible damage. But I'll be soooo thin

Alicetheinvisible · 27/05/2010 13:50

How can you have constipation and be thin?

Lizzy - don't worry, i'm not going anywhere in a hurry!

hellsbelles · 27/05/2010 13:53

does seem weird doesn't it?

Iggisfulloftayto · 27/05/2010 14:02

Greetings. Have flung DS into bed for his nap and crawled onto the computer to moan chat. Have been v shouty mother today, especially when he broke the lid off our kitchen bin and dropped milk all round the house. And I have a list long as your arm of things to do.
None of which is conducive to staying out of the gingernut packet..
V. scared at idea of people wearing playsuits ('cept babies)

Mouseface · 27/05/2010 14:02

Try and be back later to catch up......

Physio was a biatch!! They (I had two of them working my hips!) manipulated my left hip so today, I can't put weight on my right one.

Just been to hydrotherapy and had an ice bath on said hurty hip.....

Feeling sorry for myself

Fooking kills!!

Iggisfulloftayto · 27/05/2010 14:07

Hi Mouseface, sorry you're so sore - will it ease off d'ya think?

Mouseface · 27/05/2010 14:12

I'm just about to down a shedload of painkillers, well as many as I can take according to the bottle!!

Will update you on the ouch situation later, thanks for asking Iggi.

May be able to dip in and out but will be back tonight if not. Bye for now shiney peeps.

Lizzylou · 27/05/2010 14:27

Oh Iggi, sounds like you'v had a day of it, get on the gin and slimline tonic once DS is in bed!

Ouch for Mouseface!

Thanks Hells, have just shredded, you guilted me into it. I do now have to do the school run all sweaty, but never mind

Mittz · 27/05/2010 14:50

Awww Mouseface

Mittz · 27/05/2010 14:53

Iggi also .... some days just are doomed aren't they?

Mouseface · 27/05/2010 15:26

Thanks Mittz - Are you feeling better today? I waited to snuggle you yesterday, just in case!

Thanks Lizzy - I still can't get used to this 'shredding' thing. All I can see is you lot bent over office shredders, feeding them with paper in time to some upbeat music, leg warmers and headbands a plenty!! Congrats on DBs news.

at Shiney!! Sex 'til 5am??? Really. Wow. Lucky BF!!

Kerry - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!

Iggi - Hope you're ok.

TotalChaos · 27/05/2010 16:02

Need to get this out. Will read back later.

DHs and my friend (close friend and colleague of DH) died in a climbing accident a few days ago. All very shocked. Just had to break the news to his ex (my friend, who was still on friendly terms with him). Think I did it really badly, just blurted it out. Shit. How to make a bad situation worse. She says she'll call back in a few days once she's had a chance to absorb it.

Mittz · 27/05/2010 16:02

Yes thanks you Mouseface Still up for the snuggle though.. just to keep me going..

Shiney and her BF are old Mouse.. it took them till that time to get revved up .

Liking the image of the paper shredder

Lizzylou · 27/05/2010 16:08

Oh Total, how awful.
I am so sorry. That must have been an awfully hard thing to have to do.

TotalChaos · 27/05/2010 16:12

I didn't realise how hard it was till after I had done it - stupidly I just had it in my head I had to tell her asap in case it got into the news/local paper or anything - not thinking straight. . feel awful like I've made a bad thing worse.

Total - I am so sorry . I think telling someone news like that however gently you try and break it seems to come out the wrong way. Please don't blame yourself for thinking you have made it worse.

Lizzylou · 27/05/2010 16:25

Total, I agree with Bella. There just isn't a rulebook about these things. NO matter how you told her, it is the news that will upset her, not you. So sorry, lovely, you're sad anyway, having to break it to your mate must have been v hard.

Lizzylou · 27/05/2010 16:26

Saf, have a lovely time. I am pleased you and Bitter had a nice time. Bitter does always come across as lovely (bit too houseproud for my slatternly liking ).
S'nice when you find someone you cick with.

bellavita · 27/05/2010 16:30

Ouch Mouse - that sounds painful!

Mitts - how are you diddling today?

Is Alice resting up?

How is everyone else doing?

I am feeling kinda smug. I have put all my winter clothes away and got down my summer ones (I had got a few things out last week) but now things have been weeded out ready for the charity shop (my mother would have a fit - it would be "arrrrgggghhh you are not giving that away, it looks like new!"). But, my consensus is, if it hasn't been worn for 12 months then it is very unlikely it will be worn again!

TotalChaos · 27/05/2010 16:34

thanks lizzy and bella. I know it would have come as an awful shock to her whatever I said, it takes time to sink in.

anyhow back to the shining....

so
happy birthday Kerry, nice to hear that you and Shiney are getting some quality action.

congrats to your sis lizzy, how exciting#

bella - well done on getting your clothes organised.

saf - glad you had such a good time with bitter, hope the motherly outing isn't too grim....

jetcat · 27/05/2010 16:40

Mouse, sorry you are sore - is it a case of being sore in the short term to be less sore longer term? either way, its a pain in the butt

Hells - that crash diet doesnt sound too healthy

congrats for your brother lizzy, thats fab news One day off from shredding wont hurt - i have just done todays with proper weights, and i can feel it already aching. lord knows what it will be like tomorrow

Mittz - i love your idea for the thread you so should!

TC - that must be a hard situation for you to be in, there is no easy way to tell someone that news. You were very thoughtful to tell her before she read it somewhere, try to keep hold of that thought And sorry for your loss

bitter and saf - hope you are having a lovely mini meet

bellavita · 27/05/2010 16:42

Hells - that does not sound like a good diet at all!

Lizzy, how fabulous - a new baby in the family.

Lizzylou · 27/05/2010 16:44

I did the shred, Jet. Hells bullied me into it and I just turned up at the school run sweaty and smelly
I did Level 1, hoping to get back to Level 2 next week.

I am sooo pleased for my brother, he was in such a bad place a few years ago, he completely change career and now he is getting married (met her at work), has a gorgeous wife to be (she is gorgeous Blonde with a hat on my FB, initials DS), she has a beautiful little girl who calls him Daddy and they are v close and now a new baby!
A few years ago (4 now I think) he was sobbing in my living room and literally shaking with fear about the future.
Massively proud of my bro
