Thank you

I am properly chuffed , I don't feel twitchy today either which is good , so hopefully all the nicotine has now gone . I really do think I have done it .

How you doing today ?

Well done you , I have worked this morning and now I am hiding on the computer while my two boys entertain themselves .

cake sounds good hhhmmmmmmmm

That's brilliant, travelling. You're doing way better than I could have done in that situation. Have you ever successfully quit before? What made you decide to do it now?

Thanks Violet , I do think that the Allen Carr thing has made a huge difference .
I have given up before but only because of pregnancy and then a few weeks later when I have a wee glass of wine I always go back to the cigs . It is so silly isn't it ?

I think this time I was just ready to do it . I have been thinking about it for months as you do . Then a couple of weeks ago I had to have a load of bloods done (been feeling generally bleurgh for ages now) While I was waiting for the results and worrying if something serious was wrong I just though how stupid it was to be fretting about health while chuffing on 20 a day .

And then I saw this thread and thought right bugger it I am def going to do it
It has really helped having others here .

How about you ? How you getting on and what made you decide that enough was enough ?

Me too Depeche , it is so bloody cold as well that I don't even want to get out and about either . Will have to though otherwise we will all go mad .

I think I am going to take them to the cinema tomorrow for there first time and a couple of other things semi planned but mostly just be happy I don't have to do the school run every day .

Have you told your children that you no longer smoke ? Or did you not smoke in front of them anyway ? I did mention to mine that Mummy didn't smoke anymore but he couldn't have looked less interested if he tried

West Sussex , I was thinking about the princess and the frog as well . My 6 yr old ds is such a wuss when it comes to films . He is such a rough and tumble gobby boy but you put snow white on or god forbid Dr Who then he can't bear it . My 3yr old ds on the other hand is a different story .

I miss London , we used to live near Clapham Junction before we became all married and grown up (kind of) . I loved living there .

Not far at all then . I need to turn this blummin thing off as well . Now if I told them I had given up the computer I reckon they would notice

We are having a slobby day today , going to try and sort stuff out in the house and then the rest of the week we can try and do fun stuff .

You will be a better woman than me if you manage patience all day . Good luck , mind you if you can manage to stop smoking then anything is possible .

Have a good one , I am off to remind my children what I look like .

Well done for getting through it , I keep having to remind myself that people who don't smoke manage quite nicely without the dreaded weed . They certainly don't feel like they are missing out on anything .

I put a jumper back on today that I had worn a couple of days ago and it didn't smell of cigs . I could actually still smell my perfume on there .

It is those daft things that keep me going .

I can def relate to the hiding thing too , but then I also remember the guilt of them coming and finding me in the garden and asking me to come and play or to answer a question and I was so annoyed with them that they had interrupted my "precious" time . I used to feel so bad for doing it but just carried on because I thought it was helping me . Rubbish , it was poisoning me and making me a shiter mum.

I have got a sore throat today which I have been told is to do with carbon monoxide leaving my system . Sounds lovely eh ? Have you had this yet ?

That is a really good count . How long did the throat last ? It is really annoying but also it is my body getting clean so that is pretty good .

The money thing is scary isn't it ? All that money just wasted .

My kids are still a pita too

Hope victoria is having another good day .

Oooops yes Violet not victoria , sad thing is I get peoples names muddled out in the real world too .

So hopefully my throat will be ok for tomorrow .

The ferrero rocher sounds like a marvellous plan .
