People of the world, join hands, join our TOTALly fabulous healthy eating thread.

We are a group of MNetters who wish we lost a pound for every post we have made on this thread since our benevolent leader started her SHINEY threads many, many months ago now.

I am Syc, and I was once deputy although life has slightly got in the way in the last month or so. But, inspired by our recent TOTAL yoghurt bonanza, I'm back and on the wagon.

Join us, we are a friendly bunch but like to waste as many calories as possible through moving our digits very swiftly over the keyboards and posting like women possessed

All denominations here, so whatever way you want to lose weight, maintain or just focus on healthier eating, you will fit right in.

Nothing here yet, but my mum has got hers. I don't dare check my account, but shall wait and see what happens to you brave souls...

TrillianAstra · 09/11/2009 19:19

Texted DP to see how the bike pick-up was going and got a quite sweet text back, but it made me go . Either he has been sneakily fed some happy pills or he took a friend along for the ride and they are messing about - he would never normally say "can't wait to see you"...

Am I overly cynical?

Thought of another reason why he might be sweet-talking me actually - maybe he's hoping I'll be waiting in my underwear

Mmm, I loooooooooove codeine. It is scrumptious. I have a friend who was given codein after she broke a rib or two and she got horrible hallucinations from it, it's very strange. I just get pain relief and slight feeling of woo-ness.

Jaffa cake cakes in the oven

After having zero energy all weekend I feel so much better today (still have painful occassional cough, but energy is back) - normally if I hadn't gothome til 7 I would be on sofa imediately but I decided to make cakes instead. I think the contrast is tricking me into thinking I have mucho energy, when really what I have is some.

Good luck to all who are waiting for deliveries and refunds...

Evening

Had a difficult one with DD1 who doesn;t want to go to bed wearing a nappy (i am fed up with one or two changes of sheets 3-4 times a week). Plus i have broken my glasses as i have lost a screw (which has been loose for weeks). Harrumph

Sorry to hear of toothache people. It is the worst pain . I had an infected wisdom tooth when pregnant and could only take paracetamol. Went nowhere near it . Then i got prescribed AB's but they wouldn;t say if they were safe to take when pregnant

Trills - your first reaction is normally correct. Interesting to see what the real motivation was.

Feeling very fat tonight and drinking a beer

bellavita · 09/11/2009 20:06

Oooh the likes of codeine would have me seeing things that were not there!

What cakes have you made Trillian?

TrillianAstra · 09/11/2009 20:20

Chocolate little cakes (y'know, in cake cases, fairy cake type things) with a blob of marmalade inside and I'm going ot top them with chocolate to make them like Jaffa Cakes.

Yes, I know Jaffa Cakes aren't made with chocolate sponge but it doesn't sound like a bad idea

Iggipepperedfillet · 09/11/2009 20:41

Oh, really liking the sound of those. Saw a recipe once for a chocolate cake that was then covered with actual jaffa cakes on top, every inch of it. You had to use a liquer to soften the jaffas to make them stick to the cake.
