Last night as Trinny and Susanah took Jo Brand round the shops , JB was wearing my best going out party tunic top thing...

Point me in the direction of the weight loss thread

LOL fallala

bunny2 · 15/04/2003 20:22

I got wedged in the slide yesterday. Also the swings are a tight fit.

MandyD · 15/04/2003 22:14

I only saw the start of the programme, but if it was the black glam top Jo Brand was wearing I thought it was lovely and she looked so shapely in it. If so, you obviously chose very well Fallala!

fallala · 15/04/2003 22:32

Mandyd you are too kind!
Actually it was the one she had on when she was being dragged round the shops - plum coloured velvetty/ lacy number which went down almost to knee length and changed colour to red for the bottom 6 inches.
I got it in Evans last year for about £40.

Oh, and Jo Brand was also wearing it on Richard and Judy last week!

I knew it was time to take myself in hand when my (large) mil started giving me her clothes.
Enough said.

chiarasmom · 16/04/2003 03:03

you can't cross your legs because your thighs are in the way. . .

mum2toby · 16/04/2003 07:49

When people you previously thought of as huge (judgemental I know - no lectures please!!) start referring to you both like 'us girls need to stick together' and other such statements!
HELP!

I've got my first Scottish Slimmers Class tonight!

mum2toby · 16/04/2003 07:49

Chiarasmum - LOL

Meanmum · 16/04/2003 09:17

When you go to the hairdressers and they give you a haircut typical of an overweight biker lesbian just because you don't have your wedding ring on and are carrying a few extra pounds (OK, ok, it's more than a few extra). I don't know what happened to the sexy haircut he told me I was going to get.

Mum2Toby - I'm on the diet path as well although fell off the wagon yesterday. I need all the support I can get and am happy to provide it back if you fancy.

mollymay · 16/04/2003 09:34

I'm joining weightwatchers today...decided to give myself 8 weeks and a target of 1 stone. Summer is on its way and its a scary prospect!! We shall see..If anyone fancies challenging/supporting me I would be more than pleased.....

whymummy · 16/04/2003 09:42

when people offers you their seat on the bus thinking you`re pregnant, funny cos it never happened when i was really pregnant

mum2toby · 16/04/2003 10:04

You're on Mollmay!!! I also have given myself 8 weeks to lose a stone to start trying on wedding dresses.....
First class tomorrow....

mollymay · 16/04/2003 10:14

great Mum2toby - congratulations on your impending wedding..! If ever there was a good incentive then thats it! What do you think the best way to help each other would be...?

mum2toby · 16/04/2003 10:17

Guns to each others heads?

Security guards at the kitchen door??

Publishing my weight each week should be enough.... lets get some competitiveness flowing...

mollymay · 16/04/2003 10:23

go girl! I like it...I will announce my weigh-in weight this afternoon....! Are you doing weight watcher as well?

mum2toby · 16/04/2003 10:25

No, I'm going to a Scottish Slimmers. I get weighed this evening so I'll publish my weight tomorrow....

What do you 'think' you weigh? I would guess I'm about 11 and a half stone.

mollymay · 16/04/2003 10:34

I about ten stone I think. I'm only 5ft 1in though so thats rather alot for me.. I should be under 9 stone but at my age (36)..I'd be happy for a 9 stone target weight...I've never been this heavy (apart from my pregnancy of course) before so drastic action is needed....

mum2toby · 16/04/2003 10:38

I'm only 5'4"! I would LOVE to be 10 stone again. I was a perfect size 12 when I was that weight. >sigh<
I'm not too concerned about weight, it's more a smaller dress size and losing inches that I'm yearning for.

mollymay · 16/04/2003 10:44

and lose inches you shall!!!

Never underestimate the power of positive...when the going gets tough...reach for the stars..(SCLUB7)....we shall overcome...blah blah...

You can tell its the first day of the diet can't you...

mum2toby · 16/04/2003 10:54

Yeah.... I won't be very enthusiastic when I'm sitting craving belgian chocolate cheesecake... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

mollymay · 16/04/2003 13:36

Well I've had my weigh in....10 stone exactly....yuk...the 'leader' was an elderly gentleman who didn't seem entirely comfortable with his task of counselling women on how to lose weight...I'm afraid I couldn't take him seriously but will continue to get weighed in each week as an incentive...here we go then...

Meanmum · 16/04/2003 13:46

I'm happy to join in the support for the cause of weight loss. I've been dieting for a week and lost 1kg. Fantastic I hear you say but unfortunately I fell of the wagon yesterday and even though started out well this morning went completely to pot at lunchtime. I need to lose way (or weigh) more than either of you as I need to lose 6 stone. I desperately need the support if you are happy for me to join in.

mollymay · 16/04/2003 14:03

go for it meanmum....I would be happy to lend support...mum2toby and I want to lose a stone..I have set myself a target date of 8 weeks from now so no room for slacking...Why don't you give yourself the same goal? Then when you lose that stone you can think about the rest....slowly slowly catch the monkey....

Meanmum · 16/04/2003 14:08

Mollymay - Definitely setting 1 stone targets is better than the rest and I'll join you in the 8 week mile if that is OK. I'm finding it easier to diet now as the weather is so nice and I'm going on holiday with friends in July and don't want to look quite as gross as I do at the moment. Just so you know, I've always been big and have no illusions about being slim but I need to lose weight to be healthy. My big goal is to have lost weight for when I go home at Christmas.

Small targets first like you said though. Thanks for your support. We'll get there in the end.

mollymay · 16/04/2003 14:10

a holiday is a great incentive meanmum and if you don't mind me asking, where's home?
