mollymay - you have every reason to feel chuffed. Well done, that's brilliant. You can crack open a bottle of Perrier tonight to celebrate. mum2toby- good luck for the weigh in.
Hi dot1 - I've increased my water intake today as i think it definitely takes the edge off those hunger pangs. The only problem is i've spent most of the day either in the loo, or crossing my legs hoping i make it there in time

mum2toby · 23/04/2003 16:24

Kayleigh - maybe you need some 'cones' from boots

kayleigh · 23/04/2003 19:35

mum2toby - are you on a commission for these cones ? Every thread I look at you are there slipping in your cones (so to speak).

mum2toby · 24/04/2003 07:48

Hee hee Kayleigh!! Luv the pun!!

Morning oh chubby ones...... I got weighed last night.

And

Despite eating a whole box of Lindt Chocolates, an Indian Takeaway (creamy sort with fried rice), having a BBQ AND polishing off 4 bottles of wine over the whole week.....

....I lost half a pound!!!!

Still not good enough though, honest apart form the list abive I have been eating ALL low fat foods and loads of fruit and veg. I've been kidding myself though and I'll put last week down to a practise.... this week is serious!!

Naughty M2T!

dot1 · 24/04/2003 09:06

Aarrgghhh! This is so difficult! And I've only been good for a day....! Today I've brought soup in to work for lunch, and haven't had a coffee for over 24 hours - no wonder I'm grumpy...

But also feeling quite virtuous! It feels so much harder to cut down on eating when you've got a baby - last night I was feeding ds and before I knew it, I'd had a (tea)spoon of his custard... Felt v. bad, but didn't do it again!

Yes Kayleigh - I spent lots of time on the loo yesterday - also burping a lot 'cos I can only drink fizzy water - I'm such a pleasant person to be with at the moment...!

First weigh-in on Tuesday, so 5 days to go...

kayleigh · 24/04/2003 12:40

mum2toby - well done on your loss. might have to ask for a copy of your diet sheet if that's what you ate at the weekend !!
dot1 - it's a struggle isn't it. But I also did a whole good day yesterday so feel more positive about the whole thing now. I've bought lunch into work, a (very) big salad with chicken, and am just going to get it as I'm starving. That's despite eating loads of fruit this morning and drinking 3 tall glasses of water plus two cups of tea (not prepared to give up my caffeine as well!)
Is anyone following the slimming world plan, I am trying to or at least my version of it ! I find this the best diet for me (and boy have i tried a few)as i have the most humongous (sp?) appetite and there is loads of free food on this which also means very little weighing. mum2toby - what diet do you follow at Scottish Slimmers ?

dot1 · 24/04/2003 15:07

I'm trying to kind of do the Atkins Diet - cutting out carbs, as I've got polycystic ovaries, and this is supposed to be beneficial for that aswell!

Last night I had some sirloin steak pan fried (hardly any oil!) with mixed veggies. Lovely, but could have done with some rice..!

Had soup for lunch which was delicious, but I'm already hungry and it's only 3pm. Might have to go to Somerfield on the way home and buy some strawberries or something - luxurious but not wicked!

mum2toby · 24/04/2003 15:15

I must say I didn't follow the diet at all last week. But I ate loads of fruit and didn't have my usual chocolate bar at work. I did get some ideas for recipes and for the 4 days i was off I had extremely low calories breakfast and lunches.... it was the dinners that let me down.
I have a big appetite and although I eat quite healthy foods I tend to have huge portions and I also LUUUURRRRRRV cheese! I refuse to stop having my weekly Indian takeaway and I do love a bottle of wine or 2 to relax. So, I'll follow the diet this week apart from the takeaway and wine and hopefully I'll lose a bit more than half a pound!! I have also sworn to do my Rosemary Connelly video twice this week!!

I consume a lot of calories and have maintained my weight for a while now. So I know that I will be cutting out quite a large amount of calories from cheese/olive oil etc, that I ate in abundance. SURELY I'll lose more!!!!

Meanmum · 24/04/2003 16:45

Someone help me out here. I think I need a royal kick up the b**t. I had an easter egg last night (ds's not mine as I didn't get any), made dh go out for fish and chips and then today have bought a huge easter egg full of chocolates, eaten about 10 fish fingers for lunch and am just feeling like a big fat pig. It's my own fault but I need someone to snap me out of it and get me back on track if that is OK.

breeze · 24/04/2003 16:49

Meanmum, that is awful, eating your ds easter eggs, you should be ashamed of yourself. (Would that do)

breeze · 24/04/2003 16:50

Am I allowed to post on the 2 threads about dieting at once?

breeze · 24/04/2003 16:51

Meanmum, i am with you though, I feel I need a kick up the arse as I went out for lunch, pizza hut and had the all you can eat for £5.49 and got to the point when I was about it burst and then had another piece. ahhhhhh.

Meanmum · 24/04/2003 16:59

OK Breeze we're in this together at the moment. I am determined to lose 1 kg/2 pounds by next weekend. Are you up for that. This applies to all those out there losing weight. I desperately want to lose 10kg by end of June which sounds like a long way off but isn't. If I think you are all watching me with eagle eyes and checking up on me every week then I think I will feel much more guilty about eating the wrong things and not doing any exercise.

breeze · 24/04/2003 17:06

Meanmum, That sounds good to me. I want to lose 10 pounds by June and a further stone and a half by the following June.

mum2toby · 24/04/2003 17:14

Hey you 2 - don't dare start a little competition without me!! I've got a stone and a half to lose. 2lb this week sounds realistic.... lets do it!

breeze · 24/04/2003 17:15

Who asked you? bog off, only kidding the more the merrier. Fatties unite

Meanmum · 24/04/2003 18:01

OK for all those determined to lose weight (not just us 3) I'll be checking up on you all to see whether you lost the 2 pounds we are agreed upon. I'll weigh myself tomorrow morning and then again next Friday morning and report back. Damnation, I'm meeting a mumsnetter on Saturday for a coffee but obviously no illicit cake now.

kayleigh · 30/04/2003 10:45

I weighed myself this morning and have lost a pound. I'm reasonably happy with that as I'm still on track to lose another 6 in the 4 weeks before my holiday. But I was really good this week so felt it should have been more. Never mind. I WILL persevere.
Mollymay - how was the weigh in last night ? Mum2toby - are you weighing tonight - how was your week ? Dot1 - have you drowned in all that water ?!

mum2toby · 30/04/2003 11:01

Kayleigh well done! I get weighed tonight. I weighed myself on my home scales and it says I've lost 2 pounds.... BUT....
... I haven't discovered the comparison between SS's scales and mine. I didn't weigh myself on my homescales from the beginning. I nkow I should have. We'll soon find out.

I don't think the wedge of Belgian Chocolate Cheesecake I had on Friday was on my slimming plan.

dot1 · 30/04/2003 11:11

Weigh in was last night and I've lost 3 1/2 lbs!!!! V. pleased as I also just started my period and felt all bloated and fat! I also tried on a dress I haven't been able to wear for about 6 years, and although I still can't do up the top bit

Aiming for 2 lbs this week....

Drinking fizzy water as I type (sooooo sick of it!).

kayleigh · 30/04/2003 13:43

dot1 - well done, that's brilliant. You may not have any friends left (all that wind!) but at least you'll be thin !! Mum2toby -good luck for tonight. Your cheesecake mention sparked a memory way back in the depths of my brain that I'd been out with the girls last week and had scampi & chips followed by half a packet of rolos. Oooops

mum2toby · 01/05/2003 08:13

Well..... the girl who drives us to the slimming class cancelled 20 mins before picking me up!!!!!!!!!!! So I didn't get weighed. I weighed myself in the house and it 'apperas' that I've lost 3 lbs!! I'll keep weighing myself at home in case she cancels next week too.

Meanmum · 01/05/2003 09:06

I haven't lost any weight this week due to the ungodly amounts of chocolate I have eaten but today is a new day and I am on track so far and determined to stay on track.

kayleigh · 07/05/2003 13:18

are you giving up girls ? not much moral support going on here which is probably why I've put that pound back on that I lost last week. Have to blame someone and it can't possibly be my own fault ! Are you dieting on another thread ? cannot do this without you

dot1 · 07/05/2003 13:25

I'm still here! Lost 1 1/2 lbs this week, which I was a bit disappointed with - it felt like too much hard work for that amount! Our weighing scales are rubbish though, so I'm off to John Lewis soon to buy posh ones (hopefully they won't say I'm any heavier than the rubbish ones...).

I've just got back from a 'power walk'!! me and a colleague at work have decided to do a walk every Tues and Weds lunchtime - it's about a mile and half of it is up a nasty hill! So I'm knackered but feeling v. virtuous!

2 months to go until my brother in law's wedding and I really want to get into a size 16....

Mum2Toby - 3lbs is brilliant - have you got your wedding dress yet? You'll be needing the size smaller!

Come on Kayleigh - keep going!how much have you got to go now - about half a stone?
