Bone Marrow Donation Sign-up Thread. For Mr Lisad!!!!! Please keep bumped!!!!

For those who have seen the thread today. Mr Lisad123 (who is also Misdee's bil) has been diagnosed with chronic leukaemia.

I think we need another MN donation mission. Is everyone on the bone marrow donation register? I know we all signed up for the organ donor register when Misdee's Peter was needing a transplant, but the bone marrow donation register is separate.

My DH donated his bone marrow last month to a lady in the UK with chronic leukamia and she is doing well.

I hope everyone will join and make sure they get their blood tissue-typed to see if they are a match. All people between 18-40 years old are considered. Young men in this age group are especially useful due to a high concentration of stem cells in the bone marrow.

I have to be honest, the general anesthetic puts me off.

I've only had one GA that i remember and I have never been so ill in my life. Vomiting all night the first night and the night after was having hillusinations.

I would do it for a close friend or family member but not sure I could for a stranger. sorry.
