Soak cotton wool in (un)bearably hot water (drop of tea tree/lavendar oil in water can't hurt). Apply to boil.

It will be strangely satisfying & may eventually cause it to burst - but only apply v gentle pressure to help it along, or you will be in agony & creating deeper infection if it's not ready to pop.

If all else fails (& if you can see the bugger or have sympathetic & not ham-fisted/sadistic dp to do it for you), lance with sterilised needle.

Ouch.

@ properly imagining it.

So how did it develop in the first place?

Do i have fanny acne?

think you just get them from time to time.

'You get them' as in 'one gets them' - not dissing you and your spotty fanjo!

LynetteScavo · 16/02/2009 22:05

I've never had a boil.

Oovavu · 16/02/2009 22:07

oooo hark at her majesty

I've had about 3 or 4 in my whole life

Sidge · 16/02/2009 22:09

It might be a Bartholins cyst or abscess.

You can get antibiotics from the GP, or pop the bastard yourself.

ravenAK · 16/02/2009 22:10

I had a truly enormous one under my bump at 8 months pg once. That was grim.

HecateQueenOfGhosts · 16/02/2009 22:11

Ooh, I feel your pain! I once had an infected boil on a haemorrhoid sticking out my arse! (I changed gp after having to go to him about it )

I had to travel from Derbyshire to London sitting on it! It burst when we were near M25, I have never felt such relief in my life! But by god it gushed. So yes, get in a bath and burst yours. It will hurt but at least it will be over!!!!!

Another nice juxtaposition:

Am I being unreasonable? : to be jealous that my best friend has just had a.........

Fanjo boil

Oovavu · 16/02/2009 22:12

How under your bump? on your belly or on your fanjo? How did it go?

PMSL @ this thread!! I truly sympathise with the OP but i can go one better. I once had a boil/large spot on my actual CLITEROS (i dont know how to spell that ). It was absolute agony for a good couple of days and then one day i decided to walk (painfully slowly) to the local chemist in my lunch break. While i was walking it burst (i didn't feel it) and when i got back to the office all that was left was the brown/green goo on my knickers lol.

I think what caused it for me was cheap and scratchy loo roll (at the office!) that must have given me a minute paper cut and left me infected.

On a completely different note, DS (18) has a HUGE boil on his neck that's just got my name all over it. I cannot wait to have a go at that in the morning!!
