For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

FrannyandZooey · 19/05/2008 21:56

i think she's been at the magic mushrooms, have you read the surreal garbage she would have us believe is happening there?

FMF I like those vine leaves that you get in tins. I may have mentioned them once or twice.

I mean darleks with garlic, what kind of a tapas suggestion is that...?

FrannyandZooey · 19/05/2008 22:00

have you got any spray on marmite FMF? I hear it's very good on bruschetta

OP posts:
Fullmoonfiend · 19/05/2008 22:02

no, but I was thinking of trying some algae on bruschetta.

oh i do like your minimal thread title, ladies, although i was more at home on the splitters' thread last week.

Fullmoonfiend · 19/05/2008 22:07

Aitch - is the name an homage to Les Flouncers?

AitchTwoCiao · 19/05/2008 22:13

no, i changed it a few weeks ago while booking my italian holiday with the considerable help of MNers. why are people flouncing? surely not cos of that bollocksy blog thread that went on too long and will Never Be Resolved and I Should Have Realised That And Never Ever Posted On It? gad, some people can't bear being left out of a drama, can they?

Fullmoonfiend · 19/05/2008 22:14

ah yes I remember your Roma pleas... Did you get sorted?

AitchTwoCiao · 19/05/2008 22:17

yes, i think so. i hope so. you never know really, do you, it might all be a disaster. but it'll be an Adventure...

Ah yes, ahem. I was sleeping busy busy with rl but I'm here again. just about.

So raisins, dried blueberries, asparagus, carrot, mango (non-cunting variety), apple, lettace, rocket, tomatoes, cucumber.

Lots of walking. With purpose mind, not aimlessly meandering.

Ahhhh.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

berolina · 20/05/2008 00:25

I have lurked on and off this evening and the flouncers etc. have made me feel rather dizzy.

hello all. hello zippi

oh yes, come for cake meet. we had lovely cakes yesterday at bapt/birthday party in very nice cafe.

( cake meet? Are We Not Virtuous Veggers?)

It was so lovely this weekend, my flat full of friends (Sat night we all huddled round the tiny dining table in my living room and had spaghetti and red wine ), and delightful children running around everywhere. Think I might have an anticlimax thing going on. Still have a vague throaty/earish pain. Babywearing has been doing my neck in this weekend.

ROFL at spray-on marmite. I would not be a contributor to your wealth, though, Boco - I love marmite but hate twiglets

berolina · 20/05/2008 00:26

I think you mean the Operncafe, avi? the book thing being the empty underground library, a memorial to the book-burning?

zippitippitoes · 20/05/2008 00:27

you are up late folks

i am trying to do a job application that has to be in tomorrow am i am doing it very badly in kind of confessional mode which i doubt is right at all

berolina · 20/05/2008 00:34

You have to be in marketeer mode, zippi (I hate it but such are applications - have done a fair few). But confessional might be good if you are bigging up your achievements and the way you have solved tricky situations, for example.

zippitippitoes · 20/05/2008 00:36

well not mexactly i am talking about mental health

berolina · 20/05/2008 00:39

oh

is the job in the field?

tbh IME (as an OCD veteran) the resourcefulness and bloodymindedness needed to live day-to-day with MH ishoos is a worthwhile quality in itself. suppose it depends who you are addressing, whether they are likely to see that.

Papillon · 20/05/2008 00:40

has it all been abit emotional round MN tonight? Maybe its the full moon freaking everyone out...

anyway posting here cos normally when it gets over 500 posts its too much for my wee Mac here in New Zealand

Got a pot of carrot, potato and butternut pumpkin steaming ont he stove... starts off as a pot roast then will add water later... like the flavour that way.

A woman is trying to sell me a product called LIFEFORCe atm.. made from aloe vera (high oxygen) and seaweeds. Supposed to be great ...anyone tried it?

zippitippitoes · 20/05/2008 00:43

it is for rethink as support and recovery worker

my only qualifications are my own experiences and those of people i know

berolina · 20/05/2008 00:48

Confessional (with maybe a touch of marketeer) spot on then IMVHO

zippitippitoes · 20/05/2008 00:53

well its a gamble but its either write it like that or not stand any chance anyway

UnderRated · 20/05/2008 01:37

Good luck with application, zippi

Bero, someone asked me recently if I have OCD I fully admit to having some characteristics and 'resourceful' & 'bloodyminded' definitely describe me. Not necessarily in a good way.

F&V: I cut up some grapes for the kids. And peeled a banana. And there were orange quarters in the kitchen when I got work.

zippitippitoes · 20/05/2008 02:11

i have just finished the job application it was rather spontaneous and incmplete and honest lol

so that ill be the last i hear of that
