For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

How is DD2?

pinkspottywellies · 20/05/2008 22:19

Slubber's new name is confusing me. I look and see Tatt at the beginning and think it's Tatties Confused

UnderRated · 20/05/2008 22:20

Irate Me is quite true

UnderRated · 20/05/2008 22:21

Yes, me too, PSW

zippitippitoes · 20/05/2008 22:22

oh dd2 has given back in needless to say

OsmosisBanana · 20/05/2008 22:53

Ah shiz. Gower camping cancelled due to mank weather and excess of other folk camping rendering large groups of ex punks unpopular.

Coming soon to a field near you.....

TooTicky · 20/05/2008 23:05

Are you that scary then?

OsmosisBanana · 20/05/2008 23:10

not in the slightest. Just lots of us.

The dude at the site says no point in coming unless you get there Friday am as every inch will be taken.

No room for the dogs / kids / caravan / horse drawn wagon / 3 piece fiddling band etc etc. We don't travel light.

Sigh.

OsmosisBanana · 20/05/2008 23:11

I was scary briefly for about 18 months, 8 years ago...

Not so much now.

TooTicky · 20/05/2008 23:12

If you go as a large group, how about approaching a farmer? When I was little I used to go on Quaker camps - around 60 people - in ordinary fields.

OsmosisBanana · 20/05/2008 23:13

yeah, i've lost the feeling for it now everyone is piking out. Weather also duff.

Nevermind. I have A LOT of jobs I need to stop avoiding.

ahundredtimes · 20/05/2008 23:17

What does piking out mean?

I have been out tonight. Was nice. Though we also went to look at a secondary school first, and as we sat there I thought that on the whole I didn't especially want ds1 to go to secondary school, or indeed to grow any older. Am quite happy with 10, 8, 6 - can we just halt time now? Just stop it here? That'd be good.

TooTicky · 20/05/2008 23:19

I know that feeling 100x. Also, the age thing aside, secondary school scares me quite a lot.

TooTicky · 20/05/2008 23:21

I also worry that, by the time we are able to afford holidays again, and go back to Sweden, they won't be so interested. And we won't get to Moominworld before they are cynical teenagers

TooTicky · 20/05/2008 23:21

But then, we might! I shall be optimistic

ahundredtimes · 20/05/2008 23:31

Yes, it scares me too. Also these schools bear absolutely NO resemblance to the school I went to. I have no idea how you judge a secondary school.

Also all the teachers looked like policemen? Why is that?

Not that it matters, I'm sure they are all charming. They were all charming in fact, and very enthusiastic and a bit tough.

is another weld, as Boco might say.

Are you pleased with dd1's school? Does she start in September?

ahundredtimes · 20/05/2008 23:39

We met an Australian family once TooT who had taken 6 months out to travel around Europe with their 13 and 14 y-o. They said it had started badly, but then was lovely, and they'd all got on again, and played cards and laughed. I thought it was v.g idea. You've got lots of time to get to Sweden.

Right. I shall go to bed, and in the morning the future will look -inevitable- better.

ahundredtimes · 20/05/2008 23:39

Oh fgs. i still haven't conquered the strike through facility.

FrannyandZooey · 21/05/2008 08:20

Good morning

orange, banana, grapes, 2 sorts of melon, raisins

oh dear ds just playing with hideously noisy wooden rattle some nutters our friends gave him for his birthday and dp shouted he doesn't usually shout, ds is very offended
I have sent dp upstairs to make amends
we are all a bit tetchy I think, not enough sleep and everyone having to do extra jobs round the house because I am a bit crap and me grumpy because I can't do much

anyway on bright side
we now have nice smelling hot compost
and we have got plastic collection with our recycling woo hoo
and consquently we have not put any rubbish out for the last 3 weeks as we have not got a full bin bag yet [proud]
