For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Hello again, have come to update you on my first day.

2 nectarines, muesli with dried fruit in it, mushrooms, carrots, asparagus, pea soup, banana. About to have some strawberries. 8/10? No exercise to speak of sadly.

Wish I had joined on Sunday when I had yasai natsubi salad at Wagamama and ran 8k, but that splinter thread was too intimidating.

pinkspottywellies · 20/05/2008 20:39

Yeah! We've got Rusty!

Don't worry Fran. I don't need to plan anything yet. Just wondered if anyone was feeling like planning I think I'm definitely going to see my sister, rather than her coming here. I'll drop you some carrot cake on the way through MrsC!

pinkspottywellies · 20/05/2008 20:46

Welcome a lark a spree. Love the name!

FrannyandZooey · 20/05/2008 20:51

hello lovely new people! Welcome to our fruitylicious world!

Just diving in to shout '''eeeuuggghhhwowowowow'' after seeing people having a fanjo wax on How to look good naked. Am I the only person in the world who has never had a bikini wax?
Given what happeneed when I had my eyebrows waxed, there's NO fecking way I am letting someone do that to my ladygarden. Seriously.
I had scabs on my scabs when I had me brows done...

alarkaspree · 20/05/2008 20:58

Thanks everyone for the friendly welcome.

Pinkspottywellies really? You don't think it's irritatingly perky?

TooTicky · 20/05/2008 20:58

I am confused by:

a) the crunchy steamed cabbage with lots of cheese on and quite what connection it has with the moussaka

b) the rhubarb in Pink's bolognese

I am dismayed at Zipppi saying that jealousy and fairness are still issues at 20 and 23

I am also tired.

I have eaten a very nice tomatoey-lentilly pasta sauce

But I am tired.

Fullmoonfiend · 20/05/2008 20:59

oh and to set a good example, I have had melon, straws, salad with peppers, plives, cucumber, carrot, red cabbage, raspberries, baked beans and a non-cunting mango. Obviously not all mixed together, That would be wrong.

Boco · 20/05/2008 20:59

I am mostly just horrified by the meaty farting.

Fullmoonfiend · 20/05/2008 21:00

Toot, we are 37.5, 47 and 49 and we still squabble about who mum loves best..

Fullmoonfiend · 20/05/2008 21:01

off to watch wartime diet thing now...

FrannyandZooey · 20/05/2008 21:03

to recap and try to reclaim a little kudos after FMF's second storming day

I have had orange, melon, raisins, kiwis, hummus, roasted peppers, salad (not a full portion), asparagus (2 portions), cabbage, sweetcorn

a lovely well balanced 10

MrsCarrot · 20/05/2008 21:07

are we re-capping now

um,

leaves, tomatoes, cucumber, articjokes, carrots, red onion, orange, grapefruit, grapes,
aubergine, peppers, courgettes, nectarine and blueberry.

TooTicky · 20/05/2008 21:12

I don't know when the meet up should be. I was hoping people would make suggestions.

OB, we are thinking of different watery places. I am thinking of Blagdon with their discovery sundays and wildlife and things. Dunno, maybe yes, maybe no.

UnderRated · 20/05/2008 21:12

But I have nothing to recap.

TooTicky · 20/05/2008 21:17

Oh. Fruit bread, couldn't be arsed to make lunch for myself, um, 2 apricots, tomato/lentil/courgette/onion/garlic sauce (prob 3). So a total of...um.... ooh, look, quick, what's that over there?

TooTicky · 20/05/2008 21:18

And I ate grapes!

pinkspottywellies · 20/05/2008 21:22

I love irritatingly perky

The rhubarb was separate TooT

TooTicky · 20/05/2008 21:24

"bolognese containing mushroom, pepper, onion, tomato, rhubarb"

to you too

UnderRated · 20/05/2008 21:39

lol @ rhubarb in bolognese. Yum

UnderRated · 20/05/2008 21:40

Someone just told me I always downplay myself. I said I did sometimes but that I aknowledge the things I know I am good at. And then they asked 'What are you good at' and I wasn't sure what to say. I hate questions like that. And, to be honest, I don't really know what I am good at.

FrannyandZooey · 20/05/2008 21:53

perhaps you are good at downplaying yourself?

OP posts:
Boco · 20/05/2008 21:58

And you did used to call yourself 'overrated'. that's downplaying if ever i've seen it.

MrsCarrot · 20/05/2008 22:05

I forgot you were Overated, but it's easy to forget on here with this thread, all the names blur sometimes

you have to admit there was a certain ease of reading with the splinter though you all moaned and moaned
