Can the Macmillan or Marie Curie Nurses help you at all OJ ?

Did a wonderful job of Nursing my Nan at home.

Good luck tonight, I think you'll find he's a spineless git without Monster pulling the puppet strings !!

NotABanana · 12/05/2008 17:06

How much is the hoist and how soon could
we you get one?

BreeVanderCampLGJ · 12/05/2008 17:18

NABs I am sure we could organise something at those prices.

OJ can you have a look at this and tell us if it is the type of thing you need.

Buda · 12/05/2008 17:21

God OJ - it has taken them a bloody long time to find out about the guy's lack of insurance.

LOL at stun gun!

Happy to help out with hoist scheme too.

Although would be happier to help with stun gun!

NotABanana · 12/05/2008 17:22

We could dfinitely help with the hoist. I'll chip in straight away. Does anyone know how quick the delivery is?

ShinyPinkShoes · 12/05/2008 17:27

I just spoke to a company who could get it there Wednesday morning :0

BreeVanderCampLGJ · 12/05/2008 17:38

Right I have emailed the boss Lapin,

What we need to do is see if they will fund it, what I would be wary of doing is letting them think OJ has access to cash and thereby not funding something else that Steve may need that we may not be able to finance.

Does that make sense ??

CurrantBM · 12/05/2008 17:38

Count me in to help with the hoist.

I'm sure we can get one to OJ quicker than the DN.

BreeVanderCampLGJ · 12/05/2008 17:39

Shag it, I will start a thread asking for pledges and will then call them in if they need it.

Is this a good idea ??

NotABanana · 12/05/2008 17:40

I am happy to order it and have it debitted from my account and just give OJ's address for delivery, but I can't fund the whole lot. I would also feel happier if OJ has agreed to us doing this first and telling us which one she would like.

ButterflyMcQueen · 12/05/2008 17:40

i will help too let's keep this bumped - how can we do it?

ShinyPinkShoes · 12/05/2008 17:41

Great idea.
The way I see it any unused money can be put to good use for rum other useful stuff.

BreeVanderCampLGJ · 12/05/2008 17:43

Well let us test the waters pledge wise, then she can make the decision.

WingsofaAngel · 12/05/2008 17:44

Yes I agree NAB. We need OJ to say she is happy for us to do it.
I am happy to donate too.

VaginaShmergina · 12/05/2008 17:51

I'm in !

BreeVanderCampLGJ · 12/05/2008 17:51

Can people please help keep this bumped, Thank You

icuddletrees · 12/05/2008 18:16

have just posted on other thread but am Social Services OT and do hoist assessments, training etc every day.

Get in touch for any info / help.

You should not have to pay, CHC is responsible for all equipment/ care. If you get a hired hoist woithout a professional assessment the paid carers would not be able to use it.

A mobile hoist needs 2 carers who have been trained for that particular person.

Email me on treesmad at yahoo dot co dot you k if you want any help

icuddletrees · 12/05/2008 18:18

District nurses can order hoists too but many are reluctant as they do not have the training to do hoist assessments, complex manual handling assessments or carer training

Squirdle · 12/05/2008 19:01
