I have not posted before.

This is the first time I have posted on a thread of this nature.

I check several times every day though.

A friend of my mothers died of cancer recently. She agonised in her fight. When her daughter was finally able to bring herself her that she acknowledged it was time for her to let go of this world she died a few hours later.

Her daughter wishes she had "given her permission" sooner as she felt that her mother was waiting for some sort of permission or "support" from her daughter before she could let go for the final time. She felt that if she had given her "permission" sooner, her mother would have "let go" sooner and it she could have provided relief to her siffering sooner.

It will be hard.

It has been hard.

From your recent posts - he could be asking for your "permission" to die....only you know whether you are ready to truely acknowledge that, whether you are ready to give him your ultimate support.

When you are ready you know that the whole of MN will help support you.

It is so hard to say good bye.BE brave and strong.Easier said than done.I think i would have run away by now.So much pain to handle for you.Your love as a family will keep you strong.(not MIL)You have a good lots of friends .No words of comfort are going to help u at this sad time but u can only do so much and take so much.

You are so brave and selfless and strong and kind and a million other words for saying to Steve he can go when he is ready as that must have wrung your heart out to say it.
